View Full Details of Beachlands Care HomeI looked at several care homes on behalf of my mum and I was really concerned about the standard of accommodation in most of them. Fortunately, I discovered Beachlands Care Home and instantly knew this one was different; the warm and friendly welcome by each and every member of staff as well as the owner was so wonderful. Mum has settled in so well and has really thrived on the excellent food and standard of care. I have not seen her so happy and content in a long time and I cannot thank the Beachlands crew enough.
My mum has just returned from her second respite stay at Beachlands Care Home. She has enjoyed both her visits to the home and is looking forward to her visits in the future. Whenever I have either dropped her off or picked her up, the staff have been very helpful and courteous and means I can stop worrying about Mum, which is a great relief. Mum has also commented about how nice all the staff are, and the delicious home-cooked meals. She also enjoyed seeing the chocolate labrador around the home, as she missed our 3 labradors while away.
For the past four weeks I have been living in Beachlands Care Home as a respite resident. The owner, manager and all the staff have, without exception, made my stay as peaceful, restful and enjoyable as I could have wished. As I will reach my centenary year in July and my needs may have increased, I shall have no hesitation in seeking a permanent room in this comfortable and truly caring home.
Following a cataract operation, we were looking for 4 weeks respite care for my father. This was our/his first experience of seeking care home support and we were instantly comforted with the welcome at Beachlands. The communal area is the most amazing space, with outstanding views of the seafront; it is so bright, even on a dull wet day! As I live locally, I was able to pop in regularly and I was conscious this may have been an inconvenience for the staff, but never felt that way - thank you! Good two-way communication on medications and medical appointments. Dad has not stopped talking about how fabulous the food was; residents are well nourished and drinks offered throughout the day, which was really important for us to ensure Dad kept up his fluids. In summary, a genuine atmosphere of care and warmth for the residents, delivered by every member of staff making this a safe, clean and comfortable environment for your loved one. We would have no hesitation in recommending Beachlands.
My sister has lived in the home for over 10 years, and is very happy. Lots of activities, very caring staff, beautiful position overlooking the sea. All her health problems are dealt with in a very compassionate manner.
My mother has been at the Beachlands Care Home for one year and five months. When I go to visit, all the members of staff make me feel so welcome with smiles. When I take her out, everyone wishes us to 'have a lovely time see you later'. Mum has chatted to me about the home, she says 'I feel at home, I don’t have any worries and the food is good'. I am so much happier now Mum is in their care, I get to do the fun things with her now.
We placed our elderly neighbour at Beachlands Care Home back in August 2022 and have been very impressed with the help and support the owner, manager and staff have given us throughout her time with them. Very welcoming, caring environment and the staff are dedicated, warm and friendly. We have no hesitation in making a recommendation for anyone looking for a care home for their friends or relatives.
My father needed respite care after a hospital visit. The manager and owner were very kind and efficient making the initial arrangements, and then everyone looked after Dad with kindness and expertise. I was particularly impressed that the manager, made sure she carried out Dad's personal care herself very soon after he arrived, so that she fully understood his needs. He was much rested and improved by the time he left.
Beachlands Care Home cared for my mother-in-law with great compassion, thoughtfulness and affection. We will be forever grateful for their care. Special thank yous to the manager, the director and all the staff. I would recommend Beachlands without reservation.
My mum moved to Beachlands a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. All staff are wonderful and go out of their way to ensure all residents are happy and well looked after. From a great choice of food to daily activities, everything is catered for. She has a small private garden for her peace and quiet and a fabulous seascape lounge to mix with other residents. On her second day, she said she felt she's been there for years and feels a part of the family at the home. We are always welcomed when visiting too. All in all, nothing seems to be too much trouble and I fully recommend Beachlands.
My father died peacefully surrounded by family in a lovely light and spacious garden room at Beachlands Care Home where every effort was made by the staff to make him as comfortable as possible and allow the family all the privacy they needed. Dad had been a resident for nearly two years. During this period we were made to feel welcome and every request was acted upon. There is a caring permanent core of staff overseen by the exceptional professionalism, good nature and genuine care of the care home manager. The standards are high and upheld. Occasional agency are necessary but they are well-briefed and diligently overseen. We were anxious about Dad's move from his own home to a care home but our trepidation was recognised and every care was taken to make Dad feel welcomed and cared for. The location is undoubtedly an attraction, my father enjoyed an uninterrupted view of the sea. The lounge resembles the deck of a cruise ship. Catering is in-house, cleanliness top rate and Dad always looked well groomed and cared for and family were encouraged to visit anytime. In conclusion, I would thoroughly recommend Beachlands for the one you love. It was a positive experience for both my father and his family and his final days were facilitated with great care. We could not have wanted more from a care home.
I was really concerned about putting my 96-year-old father (who lives with my husband and me) into respite care whilst on our first 2 week holiday since 2019. He had never required assistance then but now like most elderly people of his age, needs watching over. But following a visit by us both prior to his stay at Beachlands, the friendliness and caring nature of the management and staff put our minds at ease. Dad had one of the new rooms and he was over the moon with it. He said he felt like he was in a hotel! The rooms are kept spotless as is the wonderfully refurbished communal area (all new bright furniture). And he loved the food! Three meals a day, tea and coffee breaks with biscuits and more if required. Plus daily activities including a weekly music act! I was very happy when I collected Dad, he said he would be more than happy to return which for me is a blessing as it means that I will be able to have further breaks without worrying about his health and safety whilst I am away.
I have no hesitation in giving 5 stars for all ratings at Beachlands Care Home. My mother came into the home in April 2022, as I live overseas, it was very important to have a care facility I knew I could trust to look after Mum, and Beachlands has been fantastic. The manager is amazing and made Mum feel right at home from the start. The owner and all the lovely staff have also been wonderful. The home is kept very clean, and with all the new refurbishments, the home will only get better and better. Mum has a great room, and the view from the lounge is incredible. Mum really is in the best home in Seaford.
My Mother has just returned home from an 8 week respite stay with the Beachlands Care Home team. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The manager and his staff were friendly and helpful. The room was new and very comfortable with a door opening out onto a seated patio area overlooking the sea. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was hotel quality which was a real treat! She would not hesitate to stay there again.
All the staff that I had contact with were very approachable, helpful and very pleasant. Although the home had entertainment and craft sessions, my partner did not want to participate, so I cannot give a rating. My partner enjoyed the food saying it was all very tasty. His room was comfortable, and he enjoyed reading in the outside space.
My Uncle has recently returned from a 5 week respite stay. He had a wonderful time, all the staff and management were always very professional and very friendly, nothing was ever too much trouble. He settled in very quickly and found many people to chat to. The food was excellent with choices available. He is now looking forward to going again for my next holiday away.
My mother in law came to Beachlands in April 2022, after her husband died in 2021 in Australia. She wanted to return to the UK to live. Although she walks well, does crosswords daily, is able to wash and dress herself, the family felt that living in a care home with others to chat to and to be looked after is what she needed, we call it her hotel! Beachlands with the fantastic views was the first attraction to her. She spends much time watching the boats and the people walking along the prom. The care, food (they get a daily choice) and the staff are amazing. She enjoys the activities that the home lays on each week. What I notice on my frequent weekly visits are the staff are happy and the residents look happy and extremely well cared for. There is much laughter to be found at Beachlands. The owner and the manager are both professional and approachable. It’s definitely a lovely place for the elderly to live.
I moved my dad into Beachlands from Rochdale in Lancashire at the end of May so he could be closer to myself and my family living in East Sussex. He is 95 years old, and apart from sight impairment, he was able to look after himself to a degree. He lived through Covid, isolated and very much alone. I could see his quality of life diminishing at every visit. Eventually, he admitted he was sad and lonely, even with friends and neighbours to support him; I saw the loneliness in his eyes. He had resulted in eating pre-prepared pureed food as he was scared of choking and complained constantly of dizzy spells. Since moving to Beachlands, his quality of life has been totally enhanced thanks to the amazing care and encouragement of the staff here. He looks so much better, walks with one stick very agile and actually eats food chopped up very small. He interacts a lot with his fellow residents and joins in with activities. He absolutely loves it here. What a lovely way to now spend his twilight years.
Very friendly relaxed home with a very professional and friendly owner and manager. My dad has been here 6 months now and he is better mentally now than when he arrived. He gets stimulation from the company and staff who are all friendly and happy. Along with a great view of the Seaford shore
A very upbeat, caring home with a 'can do' attitude. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff who were determined to get my father's health and welfare improved. The senior staff have been in post for many years, and it shows in the smooth running of this very cosy home. The home itself is in a beautiful position, in a raised spot midway along Seaford beachfront and visitor access is blessedly easy, with plentiful parking all round. The crowning glory is the huge sunny dining room/lounge with lots of space to enjoy a 180-degree view of the full landscape from Seaford Head white cliffs to Newhaven Harbour.
