View Full Details of Charles LodgeI am very pleased with the overall care my mother receives. She always looks well presented and content in her own little world. The staff ensure my mum gets her coffee and special biscuits and that her dietary needs are met. The staff seem to genuinely care about the residents as individuals and are very hands on.
Great home and great carers, my father is really happy in the home. The carers really look after and treat the residents well. The home is well located with fantastic parking. The garden and conservatory are nice.
All the Staff are amazing so kind caring and lovely with the patients the residence are looked well looked after and i can honestly say on any of my visits to Charles Lodge the moment anyone calls for anything the staff are on hand straight away they sit and talk with them and make them feel safe and cared for and that's what it is all about towards the end of there life they are treated with dignity and kindness.
My Uncle has been a resident for some time at Charles Lodge and has always been well looked after. The staff is caring and helpful and the communication is good. I would describe Charles Lodge as a “home from home” with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The atmosphere in the home is always kind and caring. Everybody is treated as an individual, with their needs as a priority. There are many activities which the residents can participate in. The food is varied and tasty and my mother has thrived in the home.
Management and staff are very helpful and caring. They deal with my mother’s day-to-day incontinence problems as best they can and take good care of her. They ensure she is bathed regularly because of the incontinence and make sure they use the creams given by the doctor to protect her skin from urine burns.
My mum has dementia and has been a resident at Charles Lodge for a year. She was very reluctant to be in a home at first but is now very settled. The staff are all amazing and extremely caring plus the food is also really good.
My mother was a resident at Charles Lodge Care Home from July 2018 until her death last month. I have nothing but praise for the care afforded to her by the then-manager and her team. As my mother's dementia progressed, her needs were reassessed and then met in consultation with the family. We were always welcomed. For all the challenges that my mother's dementia posed to the staff at times, they continued to treat her with dignity and respect and maintained her identity throughout. The end-of-life care provided was compassionate and supportive of the family who were able to be with her at the end. Thank you.
Having moved Mum to Charles Lodge Care Home in her early stages of suffering from dementia, we have been absolutely delighted with all aspects. It's a well run and staffed operation and - most important of all - Mum was really happy in her eighteen months stay here. We especially liked the low number of residents (maximum 26) which enabled a more personal approach to care. Highly recommend!
Our mum recently had to go to hospital for an emergency following a mini-stroke at Charles Lodge. The home contacted us immediately and informed us of the situation and reassured us. She kept us informed when Jean returned to the home as the hospital did not answer their phones. We were worried as we couldnt see Jean due to Covid restrictions but were kept up to date with jeans progress. We always feel that nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, especially during this pandemic.Thank you all very much for all your continued hard work and cheerfulness during this difficult time
I am delighted to have found Charles Lodge to care for my mum. The thoughtful kindness fo staff and their attention to detail is most impressive, often going out of their way to enable mum to be as comfortable and settled as possible. Staff are careful to allow mum to make her own decisions as much as she is capable of, thereby respecting her choices. Her room is lovely and clean and was decorated with her preferences into consideration. There is a convivial, relaxed atmosphere at Charles Lodge under effective yet unobtrusive management. I am reassured she is in capable hands and that Charles Lodge is the best place for her at this time in her life.
Mum was living a chaotic existence at home as her dementia took hold. Moving to Charles Lodge, over a few weeks the staff gradually assessed her and got her settled into a routine which best suited her. Mum especially enjoys the visiting singers and musicians (having been a musician herself and a big Elvis fan). When visiting I see her (and all other residents) always treated with respect and dignity. Her hair and nails are neatly cut and she is clean and well dressed. The environment is cheerful and the food always looks healthy and tasty. The Lodge itself always looks clean with no unpleasant smells that characterize some homes. After assessing care homes for Mum, Charles Lodge is definitely a cut above the rest and I can’t praise the staff highly enough.
I only have high praise for all the staff at Charles Lodge. My mother has only been there for three months, but already she is feeling at home. As a dementia resident, my mother requires a lot of reassurance and patience. The staff are extremely patient, kind and respectful towards her and all other residents and a huge reassurance to myself and family thank you.
My mother has been at Charles Lodge since January 2018. She is extremely well looked after and seems very content and happy. She eats well and has put on weight since she has been there. The atmosphere is very friendly and the staff are kind and attentive. It is a very lovely atmosphere. All the staff are very approachable and there is always someone available to answer any queries. We feel reassured that she is being very well looked after and cared for. The place is always spotlessly clean.
My mother has been a resident of Charles Lodge for over three years. I could not ask for better care and understanding of her multiple problems. Staff and facilities are of the highest standard.
My Mother has been in Charles Lodge since January 2018 and she has settled in extremely well. The staff appear very caring and there is always someone available to oversee the residents and/or answer any queries I have. I like the fact that there are activities organised most days to engage the residents. Mum is eating well and seems quite content.
What a special place. Super staff, well run and clearly, the residents are well cared for. The rooms are kept clean and tidy. Looked at a number of places and this one shone head and shoulders above others, I just hoped they would live up to initial expectations - I am pleased to say they didn't disappoint. The manager and all staff make sure its a welcoming and pleasant 'homely' place. They get to know the relatives quickly and you are welcomed on every visit. A care home that I would highly recommend.
Fantastic place, always friendly. Staff are always available and eager to help. My mother's room is always warm and clean, her clothes laundered and she is washed and tidy. They handle her memory issues with patience and tact.
The manager and staff are very good to the resident and myself. I spend most of my time with her when she's down and she is always smiling when I arrive. Great job - keep it up. Thank you.
We moved mum to Charles Lodge over six months ago as we were unable to continue the level of care that she needed. She is 90 and suffers from dementia. Since being at Charles Lodge, mum has gone from strength to strength and we could not be happier with the level of care and kindness that she receives from everyone there. The home is extremely clean and tidy, mum is always dressed beautifully, her room is immaculate and unlike other care homes, Charles Lodge smells lovely too! We visit mum on a regular basis at varying times of the day and have always found her to be extremely well looked after and would not hesitate to recommend Charles Lodge.
