We visited a patient staying at The Anchorage today. We called unexpectedly and were received by the delightful manager who took us to see our friend. He was in good spirits and was able to talk to us (in response to a question) about how kind and caring were the staff. As we sat talking other patients began to gather as it was approaching lunchtime. Ther4e was a warm, happy, and friendly atmosphere. We left the house with smiles on our faces.
We feel that the care our friend receives at The Anchorage is excellent. She is delighted with her room which looks out to the garden and pond. The staff are very kind and caring and if they have spare time sit and chat to her. She says the quality of the meals is excellent and she can request her favourite food. Well done to The Anchorage, keep up the good work!!
I have visited The Anchorage once to visit my friend. I was impressed by the atmosphere, the staff, who all seemed very attentive, and the facilities. We joined my friend for lunch, which was very good. She said she hopes to go back to her home, but if that's not possible would be content to stay at The Anchorage.
It is very safe to holiday here. The fundraising is most comfortable. The staff most kind. I really mean that.
I can't express my gratitude to all the staff at The Anchorage for the care they gave my husband, after he had had a serious operation. He was given an extremely clean and very comfortable bedroom where he could relax and recuperate. The staff were like family, they always had a happy and cheerful face and nothing was too much trouble. The daily menus were just as he liked it and staff often catered to his tastes. As I am elderly also, everyone showed concern for my mental welfare when I visited my husband on a daily basis beyond the call of duty which I truly appreciated. If ever I needed care or respite in my old age, I would certainly want to go to The Anchorage.
I visited a friend at The Anchorage at their Summer Party in September and was so impressed by the effort that had gone in to making it such a special day for the residents, there was a fabulous band, ice cream van, close up magician, great food and lots of effort had gone in to the whole event. My friend said she was extremely happy there and the carers were so kind and lovely, the food was great and she was well cared for. It's such a relief to see her happy here, I would certainly recommend The Anchorage.
I am absolutely delighted with the care and kindness that my husband received in this charming house. Immediately after I entered I was met with smiles and laughter and felt such warmth and friendliness from all the staff who all had smiles. It is a great comfort for me to know that such a service is available for my husband when he might need it as he ages more. I can only say a huge thank you - I had complete peace of mind for him while I was away.
My mother has been at The Anchorage for 2 1/2 years. Prior to moving to The Anchorage she had a very brief spell at another care home in Horsham that left her with a dreadful impression of life to come in a care home setting. The Anchorage however is everything that first home was not and she regained her zest for life. The care manager and the rest of the management team and staff are simply fantastic and completely focused on providing the best quality of care and support to residents. Never have have we encountered anything other than total professionalism, efficiency and commitment which has always been delivered in the most friendly personal way. The rooms, common areas and gardens are always spotlessly clean and well-maintained. In terms of fees it is competitive and represents excellent value. We count ourselves very fortunate to have found The Anchorage and cannot recommend it highly enough.
I have a nice room with a lovely room. I enjoy the food and activities. The staff are very helpful and caring. All my needs are taken care of.
My dear friend has been at The Anchorage for about two years. When she was admitted there her health was indeed very poor. Now she is cheerful and active, this is all due to the wonderful care in the home. The care and kindness shown is outstanding. Every need is catered for and this is all down to the staff from the manager, deputy and all the staff I met, I can only say they are a credit to the company.
I have visited The Anchorage a few times now. I have always experienced a very warm and helpful welcome from the staff. The home itself seems and smells very clean and well-kept. I would strongly recommend it.
My cousin speaks highly of the home and the people working there. Very attentive and polite.
As a family we are really happy with the care my mother is receiving. The Anchorage is a wonderful country house and gardens. The staff are excellent. The residents can be involved with the activities or left in the privacy of their rooms. Visiting is always a pleasure and my mother is lucky enough to have grandchildren and great grandchildren and dogs to visit and possibly sit in the garden. Weather permitting. Probably the only negative is the fish and chips (not to her palate) bit hard.
The quality of care is outstanding. There is great efficiency in the management team with information being passed on and communication in all directions is exceptional. The speed at which, once the decision was made, my mother was settled into The Anchorage was incredible - it is a stressful time for all and everyone involved showed empathy and understanding in the way that they approached the whole family. Thank you, and well done.
As a family, we all agree that this is an outstanding care home run by truly caring staff led by an exceptional manager and her deputy. As other reviews say it really does feel like a home from home and it's always clean, bright and fresh with good food and a wide range of activities on offer. Dad became a resident in April 2022 and either my brother or I visited him from away every week and without fail, we were always made to feel welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble. Sadly Dad passed away in June and we are just so grateful for the attentive, loving care he received during his last few weeks, it felt like he really did die at home and I was able to be with him at the end. We'd also like to know the proactive care Dad received from the medical group and the district nursing team.
My father-in-law was a resident of The Anchorage in 2010 and could not have been given better care and attention. We were very impressed by the relaxed homely atmosphere created by the staff. Since then I have visited several other residents over the years and now know a particular neighbour who has been here for several years and is receiving excellent care and attention. It is a remarkable home that I recommend to everyone.
I have been here for over a year, and I have lots of help and the chef cooks really lovely food. We do exercise and quizzes which keeps my brain going. I am really very happy here, everyone is so helpful.
Home from home. Our manager is one in a million.
We visited as a family group and were accommodated in the garden room. Our resident was well attended to and in particular, ideas were discussed to help a friend/part-time resident visit. Interests and hobbies were explored in a way to makes them accessible for partial sight. The carers went over and above to make our visit and time with family comfortable. Our resident has exceptional carers and access to the things that make home work for her needs and happiness.
