I cannot recommend Appletree House and the staff enough. My mother was a resident for 7 years and I could not fault them on the focused care and attention given to my mother over this time. Appletree is a converted house, so it does not feel corporate or part of a chain. Rooms are basically furnished when you first arrive, but personal items and appropriate furniture is welcomed to make the individual feel at home. They retain good staff. Over the years it's a comfort to see the same smiley faces. The staff are excellent communicators and all systems are precise and always accessible to view and discuss. Christmas and Easter etc are a wash with celebrations and sing-a-longs. Quiz's and summer fetes in the garden. They hold hands with people, embrace and always encourage a positive atmosphere. I have seen many care homes in my work capacity and I can say that whenever I walked away from one of these establishments I would always have comfort knowing my mother was with Appletree.

My aunt lived at Appletree House for about five years, she felt like it was her home because the staff became family to her. The staff loved her and cared for her with great kindness and respect. I felt like they lifted a great weight off my shoulders as I felt confident that my aunt was happy, well-loved and cared for. I would recommend this care home if you are looking for love and kindness.

What I would call an old school care home. My friend has been a resident getting on for 3 months. I really cannot fault the care she gets. The staff are helpful and friendly but mainly they are kind, which means a great deal to the residents. My friend has settled well and feels loved and cared for (her words). At this point in her stay, I can't fault it!

My mother is not the easiest person to look after yet the staff have got past this behaviour and bought out the best in her. Not only do they look after her so very well but they always go above and beyond to ensure she is as well as she possibly can be. I haven’t known her to be so happy since my father passed away. Everything they do is with care and concern for her well-being. I can’t speak too highly of the care and the food is always of a high standard. I am always involved in being included in decisions regarding her health and well-being. It’s a home from home and not clinical and that’s what makes the residents so calm and happy. I would recommend this care home if you want peace of mind that your loved one will be cared for in the best way possible.

Excellent home, my mother has been revitalised since being there. Her health has improved and she now has a different outlook on life. The staff are always in good humour and are eager to please, despite my mother's sometimes 'bolshie' behaviour.

I have found Appletree House to be very welcoming and friendly. My mother has settled in very well. She had to move in suddenly. As her previous care home had to close. She is a much more sociable person and joins in with the activities. The staff are very engaging and helpful.
