View Full Details of Arun Lodge Residential Care HomeSince arriving my relative has been very well cared for and treated with respect. I have only had great experiences whenever I come to visit. The staff are caring and patient and would recommend.
Always greeted with a smile from the staff. Always feels homely. Always clean and tidy in the home. Mother-in-law is always happy despite her illness and staff always explaining what she has been up to that day.
I was quickly greeted at the front door with a lovely smiling face from a very polite and helpful carer. The home looked lovely and festive with all the Christmas decorations and created a warm and welcoming feeling for all residents and visitors. The care given to all residents is outstanding and I am very grateful that my grandmother who currently is unwell is receiving exceptional care and comfort to help her feel more relaxed.
I am so pleased our family found Arun Lodge to look after my mother-in-law. It is a wonderful home that feels just like home. The staff truly care and she has built up some lovely relationships with them. It makes it that little bit easier knowing she is happy and well looked after. Thank you.
Mum has been a resident of Arun Lodge for a year. The core nursing team remain consistent, visible and respectful of Mum's needs. There is always a friendly, calm and homely feel. Residents look well cared for and very settled whenever I visit. Activities are gradually being reintroduced with visits from dogs and alpacas! Residents are gently encouraged to socialise in the lounge and dining room. The food menus look appetising, Mum really enjoys all her meals.
My mother has been a resident at Arun Lodge for two years. I am so pleased with the care and support my mum receives and the tenderness and devotion given to her by the staff. Any enquiries I've made have always been quickly dealt with. I'm kept updated with her well being and the activities she's joining in with along with photos which have been lovely to share with family members. Arun Lodge is more like a home than a care home.
We have been particularly grateful for the care and attention all the staff have demonstrated towards our aunt. She herself says, "the people here are very kind." We have been impressed by the measures taken to prevent any infections by the virus, but this means that we have only on one occasion been inside Arun Lodge so are unable to comment on detailed questions. However, our overriding opinion is that all the staff have taken extra time and energy to get to know our aunt.
My sister has been a resident for two years. It was her request that she stayed at Arun Lodge after a period of recuperation there. She feels happy and safe. To know she is well cared for and loves where she is, means everything to the family.
I have found this care home to be very satisfactory and most helpful in responding to queries. The staff have been very kind to my sister. The position in Bognor is ideal for trips out to the promenade and easy access for parking.
Straight away we felt reassured that our dad was in good hands, we were able to talk to the manager and staff about his situation and they were very accommodating. The home is small and friendly yet professionally run and has a team of super staff. Indeed, it felt more like a 'home' than some larger care homes that we visited, maybe fewer facilities and slightly less spacious but these things were made up for by the strong personal contact and support. When dad joined the home he was really anxious and struggling to think straight and found it hard to walk unaccompanied without feeling dizzy or his knees giving way. It was so helpful that staff were able to accompany dad to health appointments so that he could have eyes, teeth etc. checked. Within a few months, we noticed a considerable improvement in dad's state of mind, being much more positive. He has gone from strength to strength, started going for walks, reading the newspaper and just being so much more himself.
Arun Lodge Care Home is outstanding. I would recommend that, the care could not be bettered.
I am 87 years old and until a year ago, I was able to look after myself completely, on my own, but following an illness I am unable to care for myself. I moved back to the south from Norfolk to be closer to my family and my wonderful granddaughter found Arun Lodge for me. I feel blessed to be in a great home where I know, and my family, appreciate the fact that I am safe, hopefully, the rest of my days.
Mum has been at Arun Lodge for about 4 years now. I can't fault the staff and the care they give mum. The home is really cosy, inviting and clean. It is like being in a family home, not a care home. The food is all home cooked and to a high standard.
My brother was a reluctant resident of Arun Lodge following a fall when he had spent 36 hours alone. Within four months he talked of home rather than "the home". He was a resident for four years and was really happy there. The staff were tremendous. He has a leg amputation and his other leg was badly ulcerated. Throughout it all his treatment and being looked after couldn't have been bettered. He always had a care plan and everything was done for his well being. Whenever I visited I was greeted by friendly staff and I know my brother regarded them as friends. Living some distance away it was comforting to know that he was happy and well looked after. All praise to all concerned.
The home is very clean and in good decorative order. My mother's room is very pleasant and has an en-suite toilet. I asked for a raised seat to be provided for her and this was done immediately. The owner provided a white board for the carers to use to make communication with my mother easier as she is very deaf. A couple of times in visiting my mother I found her hearing aid battery had not been changed and feel that the staff should have noticed this and replaced the battery. My mother has short term memory loss and sometimes feels lonely and isolated, I don't think the home provides much entertainment or activities for residents.
I have been visiting Arun Lodge nursing home weekly for approximately two years. I have never failed to be impressed by the welcome my therapy dog and I receive by both staff and residents. There is always a very happy, homely atmosphere! Lovely touches, bouquets of flowers for all the ladies on Mothering Sunday! Food always looks great, served in a delightful dining room. Health safety and staff training second to none - Ambience, activities many varied. One day I would be very happy to live there, would feel like home from home!
Mother has been in the home for 4 years. She has been content with her room, staff, food and general care. I have witnessed kindness, patience, humour, consideration and thoughtfulness. The staff treat the residents as individuals and use given names of residents which is better than "dearie" etc. I have recommended this home to a relative who will be using the home for respite care. P.s mother is not able to write now.
Mum recently has been less able to let staff know when she needs personal care. Staff have been great helping her always maintaining her dignity, calling out doctors to test her underlying conditions. Mum has received excellent care and understanding during and ongoing as her needs have changed.
