He recently celebrated his 100th birthday, and the staff were fantastic. The home is located in very pretty surroundings and grounds. It feels like every bedroom has a wonderful view. The property has lots of character, but at the same time all the facilities are modern and the food all freshly cooked by the chefs. The team even baked my father a cake specially on his birthday. There is lots of parking, easy access, and very relaxed visitation rules, so you really feel like you can come and go as you please, and are always made to feel welcome, being greeted by smiles.
Barlavington Manor has always been a special place for my father and our family. Our mother was in the care home a few years back, so we have had a long standing relationship with them. When the time came for us to admit my father, we did not consider anywhere else. It was lovely that there were so many familiar faces for him, and he was welcomed with open arms. We also love the fact that they are very flexible with visits, and you never feel like you are overstaying your welcome. It is so nice to be able to pop in for a cup of tea, or take him out for the day. In this day and age, it should not be taken for granted to be treated like an individual.
We get to see a fair few care homes due to our friends reaching that stage in their lives, but I have to say that Barlavington Manor Residential & Dementia Care Home & Assisted Living Village very much stands out. We have always been impressed by the warm welcome, the smiles, and the staffing team as a whole. The grounds are sublime, and whenever we see meals being served, they always look fresh and delicious. It's very nice to see that there is very much an open door policy when it comes to visits for residents from their family and friends. We have even seen some pets visiting.
My brother has been very happy at Barlavington Manor since he arrived. The care home came recommended and has a very good reputation in the local community. Wonderful ground and sweeping views throughout. A truly delightful place to spend time.
My mother resides at this wonderful care home. She receives outstanding care and is shown such warmth, love, support and dignity by all those involved. The home is clean and the food and entertainment are excellent too. When I visit my mother, I can clearly see she is happy and content with the bond and trust she has with all her care team. This makes me confident that my mother receives the highest level of care. I know my mother is in the best place, I couldn't wish or ask for more. We are so lucky to have found this incredible home.
I was very apprehensive about admitting my wife into a care home when it became obvious that I was unable to care for her myself at home. I needn't have worried as after taking her to Barlavington Manor Residential & Dementia Care Home & Assisted Living Village to be cared for, I could see she was in safe hands. The staff are very compassionate, caring and loving towards their residents who are constantly watched all the time and their needs dealt with immediately. I can't praise them enough.
My grandad is a resident at Barlavington Manor Residential & Dementia Care Home & Assisted Living Village and overall, we've been very pleased with the care he has received. The staff are friendly, attentive and genuinely care about the residents. The home is clean and well-maintained with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. There's a good balance of activities available to keep residents engaged, which my grandad has appreciated. We've found the team to be approachable and supportive whenever we've had any questions. It's reassuring to know he's in a safe and caring environment.
My sister has been a resident of the Barlavington Dementia Unit for the past 3 years. My wife and I are so grateful for the care and support she receives from the wonderful staff who always go the extra mile to meet the needs of every individual. There is always an upbeat and happy atmosphere whenever we visit and a number of activities happen daily. The home is always immaculately clean, tidy and organised. I am so grateful for the care and attention my sister receives at Barlavington. Thank you to all the team.
My father has now been a resident in the dementia unit of this home for five months and I cannot express how delighted we are for his care and well-being since his arrival. The decision to leave the family home, as many know is such a hard one for all concerned and I can truly say Barlavington have been there for everyone, every step of the way. Every member of staff is kind and considerate to each individual needs. I know my father's care is in safe hands. Thank you.
Barlavington Manor Residential & Dementia Care Home & Assisted Living Village is a wonderful place that really does feel unique. My mother spent three and a half wonderful years there and I only have good things to say. The staff, environment, gardens, food and activities are all top-notch. You can really see that everyone goes out of their way to make the residents feel cared for.
It was almost two years ago today that we discovered that my mother was not coping well at home. She had had a couple of falls and it was clear she was finding it harder and harder to take care of herself. Since she came to Barlavington Manor Residential & Dementia Care Home & Assisted Living Village, she was like a different person. For my sister and I, it was a huge weight taken off our shoulders. Everyone has been amazing and she adores the setting, food and activities.
My mother has been staying at Barlavington Manor for a period of 16 months. Over this time period she has flourished and rebuilt her confidence after my father passed away. She is treated with love and kindness, and the team are wonderful across the board. The location and setting is absolutely stunning and cannot be beaten.
Mum has always been very happy at Barlavington. It fills us with a lot of reassurance that she is in good hands, especially since we are based overseas. Whenever we come and visit, we are greeted by lovely staff, and Mum always sings their praises. Thank you.
Following a fall where my wife sustained a broken hip and was admitted to hospital, I am happy she is now back in Barlavington receiving dedicated care from exceptional staff. I thank all the staff for their support and kindness during this period.
My mother is a resident of Barlavington as Alzheimer's made it impossible for her to live unaided. We looked for a care home that shared our values. I liked the Barlavington team on my first visit. The team is friendly, professional, and understanding. The care home is very well organised, and immaculately clean. The residents are comfortable and reassured by set routines and are encouraged to participate in the numerous activities that are organized to provide stimulus. We decided on a respite stay and the Barlavington team was really supportive of the transition. Mum settled in and we knew this care home was the right permanent decision. Mum's Alzheimer's has progressed so she has moved into the dementia wing. All the team are really wonderful; they are caring, respectful, and know the needs of each of their residents. As a regular and random visitor, I see that nothing is too much trouble to ensure each resident is safe, clean, and stimulated whatever their dementia condition.
My mother has been a resident at Barlavington Manor for fourteen months, initially in residential, but very soon after moving in we were advised that she would be better provided for and happier within the Dementia Unit. I was initially unsure, but it proved to be the right decision and my mother is very happy and contented. The level of care is exemplary; the carers are so patient, so kind and indeed loving towards the residents, and from what I observe they treat all residents with equal care and attention - although their individual needs differ. The activities coordinator does a great job in facilitating both relevant and clearly enjoyable activities and visiting family members are both encouraged and warmly welcomed. The staff bring as many of the residents together in the main room during the day and the atmosphere and spirit engendered is wonderful. The home is kept spotlessly clean and tidy at all times, both communal areas and bedrooms. I cannot recommend Barlavington highly enough.
Following the passing of our mother in 2021, it became apparent that care and support would be required for my father and we started looking for alternative accommodation with appropriate care locally in West Sussex. Several local authority homes were viewed and purchasing a flat with warden support was considered. We eventually found a wonderful two-bedroom bungalow with assisted living at Barlavington Court, Barlavington Manor Residential & Dementia Care Home & Assisted Living Village. My father has spent two wonderful years there. In January 2023, my father had a serious fall in the bungalow and was hospitalised. On return to Barlavington, it was recommended that he move into the main house to recover and where 24/7 support could be provided; he remains in the house today. I cannot praise the staff enough for their dedication, professionalism, care and compassion for all the residents in Barlavington. The accommodation and facilities are second to none. This facility is highly recommended, well done Barlavington.
Whenever we went to visit granny she seemed very happy and comfortable. She made a lot of friends with both the residents and the staff. Granny always lived in the area, so it was so nice that she did not have to go far. It was very reassuring to all of us that we could visit her whenever we wanted, and that we felt she was in the best place to accommodate her needs. We did originally start with home care, but we found that she had become very isolated. When we moved her to Barlavington Manor she started smiling again which was so heartwarming to see.
My father spent 2 years at Barlavington Manor and we have nothing but good things to say about the premises and the team. We were recommended them by the local doctors' surgery and they have a great reputation in the surrounding area. Each resident is very much treated as an individual and with immense respect. We are just so delighted that my father's final years were spent here. We will very much miss the manager and everyone that we built close relationships with while dad was with them. We wish you all the best.
The most tranquil, peaceful and glorious place, with fantastic activities and beautiful surroundings. Such friendly and accommodating staff. The manager made a very positive impression on us. You can tell Barlavington Manor is well run. It was very hard for us to make the decision to put Mum in a care home, and we looked at so many. As a family, we were so happy with our decision. Thank you to the whole staffing team.
