View Full Details of Clapham Lodge Care HomeMum seems very happy and has settled very well. She had a lovely room overlooking the countryside and it is kept clean. The staff are lovely with Mum and very engaging. The chef has been wonderful in dealing with Mum's dietary issues and even made a beautiful cake for her birthday. Happy that my mum's final residence is in lovely surroundings and that she is being taken care of.
Mum was in need of some respite after a spell in hospital and after visiting we as a family felt that this was the place for her. Set in beautiful quiet surroundings with views of the open countryside the staff made her feel very welcome and cared for straight away. They are all very friendly and helpful and Mum enjoys all her interactions. Much to our surprise Mum has started attending the many activities and meeting new friends too and this has been very good for her. After a time and with a lot of heartache and discussion we all felt Mum would be happier safer and better cared for if she became a permanent resident and we can now feel at ease knowing she is safe and cared for 24/7. Many thanks to all who work so hard and make it a very friendly kind place to be.
I have had a relative at Clapham Lodge for five years. I chose it after months of unannounced visits and research around Sussex. After regular interaction in those five years, I had no hesitation in moving Mum in recently. High praise indeed! All the staff are amazing and feel like an extended family, making you and your circle so welcome from day one. There is plenty to do in the large lounge, but quiet areas when you need them. The whole place is warm, clean and regularly upgraded. It is slightly quirky in a beautiful old building, full of heart and happiness. Certainly not a sterile, tick-box operation. The staff will bend backwards to accommodate any whim in daily life with more grace and smiles than I could ever muster when worn to a frazzle. Clapham Lodge is a home in the very best sense of the word, and I am so grateful to have found it. I rest easy knowing Mum is amongst friends 24/7 and our time spent together is quality time (rather than problem solving and moans) usually with fresh baked cake and tea.
Clapham Lodge is a homely, friendly, happy environment where the staff are all lovely! There is much going on and a lovely garden. The manager listens to any concerns and seems to resolve everything. The staff are all very approachable and help the residents in any way they can. There's a very professional but relaxed atmosphere where the staff respects the resident's wishes but also maintains very high care standards and support.
My 100-year-old mum has lived in Clapham Lodge Care Home for three years. She is happy and well cared for by staff who are professional, cheerful, and who genuinely care for the Residents they are looking after. There are stimulating activities such as charades, drumming and catching the ball and my mum loves them all! Communication with our family is excellent no matter how big or small the issue. Fantastic experience all around.
Mum/Dad are both living in this care home and are very well looked after! The staff are wonderful and helpful and attentive. Food tea cakes and biscuits as well as the usual mealtime breakfast dinner and teas! There’s entertainment such as bingo quizzes entertainers singing playing musical instruments sitting on their seats yoga and many more! It’s lovely for the residents who want to join in and makes them very happy! The management is always there on hand to listen and run the care home very well. I would definitely recommend this home if you are looking for a place for loved ones!
We were very happy with the care throughout Mum’s stay at Clapham Lodge. The staff were especially friendly and professional to her and visiting family. The food looked great and the cleanliness of the home was very good.
My mum was struggling to cope at home and after a serious fall, she came here for respite care from the hospital. It soon became clear that she would not be able to return home as she needed 24-hour care. I was very impressed with Clapham Lodge and the way they welcomed Mum despite her being very confused and agitated. The staff were so patient with her and she soon formed bonds with some of the amazing carers. Most of the staff have been there for years and they really care about the residents and want the best for them. Entertainment was provided in the afternoons which did sometimes get a little repetitive with quizzes most days but she loved the musical entertainers. The food was very good and plentiful. Mum had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard which was kept spotlessly clean. Sadly she passed away in hospital 8 months after arriving at Clapham Lodge. The carers were genuinely upset to hear of her death and her main carer attended her funeral. Thanks to all at Clapham Lodge.
Our mum recently came to stay at Clapham Lodge Care Home after a fall and progressive dementia. The staff treated our mum with kindness, care and respect. They were so accommodating and patient, always doing their utmost. The night our mum passed away the staff could not have done more to support her and our family - their care was exceptional. We will never forget the kindness and love shown to her and we will be forever grateful for the happy memories you gave our mum during her stay. Thank you all so much.
Clapham Lodge is situated in a quiet village and is set in lovely grounds and surroundings. A very close relative has been there for just 2 weeks so far and he has settled in very comfortably and quickly, which is lovely to see. He is extremely happy and has made friends and we are so pleased that he is safe and properly and warmly cared for. He has a lovely comfortable room with perfect facilities. I feel he thinks he is on holiday! Who could ask for more? The lovely Manager is very professional and extremely caring. Her staff are very friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to provide excellent care. They combine care with compassion - it's never just a job! Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all at super "Clapham Lodge."
This excellent care home, set in beautiful surroundings and staffed by skilled carers with experience, kindness and close attention leaves the resident feeling always safe and well provided for. Nothing is too much trouble for everyone here. Close supervision from managers and owners is a comfort. Food is wonderful and individual likes are catered for. A happy atmosphere and plenty of humour about the place! My recent loss of a pet was dealt with respect and great sympathy for which I was grateful. Visitors are always welcomed and there is the opportunity for visits from local clergy etc. This is very much the next best thing to home. I strongly recommend a visit!
My mother came into Clapham Lodge on 14/12/22 and was there until she passed away on 20/01/23. The care and support she received were excellent at all times. The staff and management were excellent from day one until the last day, we could not have asked for any more help or compassion. To the manager and the team thank you so much.
My mother has lived at Clapham Lodge for more than two years now, and is very happy there. During that period we have had the pandemic of course and staff at Clapham Lodge always maintained (and continue to do so) the highest standards of safety as far as visits were concerned. Things were far from easy then, but the staff at Clapham Lodge have always impressed me with their dedicated attitude and it is difficult not to name one or two for whom nothing has been too much trouble. As we come out of the Covid era the new management at Clapham Lodge are pulling out the stops to improve things still further it seems. My mother has a lovely room with a garden view and is able to keep up with her nature watching. The home is situated in a lovely country area. The one negative comment I would make is that the surrounding gardens could be better maintained for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
I cannot praise the staff enough at this lovely home. We always feel so welcome when we come to visit. My dad loves it there, he always tells me about all of the fun activities going on around the home (even though he doesn't always partake!). The owners are really flexible and even made his room feel like his room at home, which not only helped him settle well but made him feel just at home. After Covid and all the limitations with visiting, it was so reassuring to know that he was in the best hands. Thank you Clapham Lodge Care Home for the support and for putting your residents first.
I visited my grandma a couple of months ago at Clapham Lodge Care Home and I could tell she was very comfortable being there. The staff were very attentive and caring of my family's needs. She returned home after her stay in good health. Thank you for keeping her well-looked after. It was a difficult time for the family but it was made easier knowing she was in a place she could be cared for properly. This place is very homely as my grandma put it!
I visited one of my dear friends at Clapham Lodge Care Home, I must say the staff are lovely, warm and welcoming. The home is very homely and smells fresh, this is one thing I had always been told about care homes. The food looked lovely and was even invited to join my friend for lunch. I enjoyed seeing my dear friend and look forward to visiting her again as I had such a lovely experience.
My father is very much enjoying his stay here and my visits are always lovely. The staff go above and beyond. As a family, we could not be happier with the care received. Cannot fault Clapham Lodge Care Home in any way.
Loth of my grandparents ended up in Clapham Lodge as they were discharged from the hospital with a continuing care plan for four weeks. Following this, it became evident that a return home would not be possible. As we had been so pleased with the care given, we decided to pay privately. The surroundings are lovely, the staff are really on it, and the home is kept very clean. Everyone is extremely friendly. Very happy we made this choice. My grandparents also report that everyone is very friendly, and the food is really good.
Always very friendly, helpful and caring staff, in spite of the incredibly difficult time they have had over the last few years and the challenges they continue to face. My mother-in-law has been a long-term resident and her face lights up when she sees the staff, which tells me how well they look after her and how they treat her and other residents. We are made to feel welcome when we visit or when we ring to see how things are. Any staff member we chat to seems to know about my mother-in-law. The commitment shown by staff throughout the pandemic was incredible. Now there is hope on the horizon to stop all the testing in the near future, hopefully, residents will enjoy more people visiting and no doubt staff will make everyone welcome.
Both my parents ended up being admitted to hospital at the same time and discharged on NHS 28 day plan to Clapham Lodge Care Home. I have little experience of care homes and it was by chance we ended up here and I'm glad we did. My parents are both permanent residents now. The Care home staff are very friendly and welcoming and very good with my parents. Both of them really like the food and the home is kept very clean. I have not been disappointed with any aspect of the care they receive.
