View Full Details of Willow LodgeI looked at many local care homes for my mum that catered for Alzheimer's patients but just didn't feel like I'd found the right one. Then I found Willow Lodge, I was actually brought to tears by the ethos of respect and caring that I witnessed from all of the staff and how lovely the whole place was. It wasn't easy for Mum or myself to make the huge transition into a care home and the first few weeks were tricky, however, with their undoubted knowledge and skill of caring for dementia patients and incredible kindness Mum has settled well and is very happy there. The food is cooked onsite and Mum says it is delicious. Her room is beautifully decorated and cleaned on a regular basis, with a stunning en-suite with a walk-in shower. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and give much-needed support and comfort to relatives as well as residents- it's a difficult time for us too! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Willow Lodge and am so grateful to have found them.
Where do they find so many amazing staff, everyone at Willow Lodge creates this wonderful warm, friendly, very caring atmosphere. I look at it through nursing eyes and know how challenging working there must be but every single person is striving to deliver excellent care. Mum telling me she feels safe and really well cared for is so important as it is so difficult to know your loved one has had to leave their home. Thank you every single person who looks after my mum.
My wife has been at Willow Lodge since May 2023 and I come and see her everyday. The staff and management are all very helpful and caring and look after my wife very well, they also give me lots of TLC too. I find it a very pleasant place to be, although my wife is bedridden the staff treat her with kindness and compassion along with making sure I'm ok too. I would recommend Willow Lodge to anyone looking for future care for their loved ones.
My husband was a resident for just over four months at Willow Lodge till he sadly died. I have nothing but praise for the way all the staff cared for him. Nothing was too much trouble and he was looked after with kindness, dignity and respect. As a retired nurse myself and having managed care homes in my working life, I'm well aware of how a good home should be run, and this most certainly is a well-managed care home. At the end of his life my family and I spent many hours with him and we too were looked after and supported through this difficult time.
My mum spent eighteen months in the care of the Willow Lodge staff. It was a difficult decision to send Mum into the care of people we did not know, but from the start she was welcomed and supported in every way. It was not long before she considered Willow Lodge her home, and the staff her friends. All the staff were caring and respectful, always thoughtful and understanding. Mum loved to join in the various activities too. Thank you Willow Lodge for looking after my mum. I would highly recommend.
As others have said, it's a very difficult decision to entrust the care of a parent with dementia into the hands of - at the time - strangers. It felt like a leap into the unknown for all of us. However, we quickly came to realise that the love and care provided by all staff - from cleaners to management - is second to none. We can't express enough how grateful we are for the care given to our mum in the final years of her life, and also for the practical and emotional support that we as a family were given. They've always been available to listen to us and reassure us during some very difficult times. They welcomed our mum into the Willow Lodge family and treated her with dignity, respect and love, even during the times when she could be a tad challenging! Thank you all for everything you've done - we can't recommend Willow Lodge highly enough!
It was a difficult decision to place my mum into care, but all of the staff at Willow Lodge made it easy, they were so welcoming and accommodating. The home is beautifully decorated, and the level of cleanliness is fantastic. The food I can personally say is 5*. Your loved ones will be very well taken care of, it really is a wonderful home.
My mum said she never wanted to go into a care home and my sister and I never wanted her to go into a care home. However as my mothers dementia became worse it was obvious that there was no other option. It turned out to be the best decision for everyone. Willow lodge is a modern well run care home specialising in caring for those with dementia. It has excellent facilities and activities but most important of all dedicated staff who work hard to make sure residents are happy and well cared for, and make family members very welcome when visiting.
A warm and welcoming care home which is clean and cared for. The staff are very dedicated and nothing is too much for their residents. They have a wonderful garden with beautiful lodges out the back and always have great entertainment on.
My mother has been a resident of Willow Lodge for nearly four years and I always feel welcome there. All the staff are approachable and go out of their way to help in whatever way they can. I am confident that she is looked after very well and is in a safe environment, the staff know and understand her needs and treat her with respect and genuine care.
My mother was transferred to Willow Lodge directly from hospital back in June 2023. On my first visit shortly afterwards I was so pleasantly surprised at the aura and ambience of the place. Right from a refreshing welcoming face at reception and on to staff members going about their chores with copious energy and smiles. No wonder the residents all looked content. All her medical treatments, eye tests, Doctor, Dentist etc. are all methodically monitored and carried out when necessary. Within herself she feels very much at home, happy to be there and being well cared for. Food is excellent, and the whole place is fresh, spacious, and very clean. Various activities are carried out each week to the delight of all the patients. As a visitor, you can pretty much go at any time and stay for as long as you wish. You could stay for lunch, you've only got to ask for a drink, nothing is a problem. Management team is superb. Not surprising then, I can't recommend this place high enough.
My mother lived at Willow Lodge for over two years and just recently passed away. I cannot fault this home at all. The amazing staff there treated my mum with total love, respect and compassion. It was her home and they all became her family. She was always very happy there. The care she received went above and beyond what you would expect, nothing was any trouble and we were always welcomed in at anytime, sharing lovely lunches with Mum and attending all the events and activities that were so thoughtfully arranged. My mum was treated with the utmost respect, kindness and genuine love by the fantastic staff, her room was lovely and the whole place is clean, fresh and beautifully looked after. My mum always looked well cared for with regular free hairdressers as well as visits from dentists, podiatrists etc. I am so pleased we chose Willow Lodge and cannot recommend it highly enough.
Very happy with the quality of care that my father receives at Willow Lodge. The staff are friendly, welcoming and are very attentive to their residents. They also take the time to get to know the residents' families and welcome visits. The home is clean and well maintained throughout with plenty of seating areas indoors and out. The rooms are bright and spacious. The food is of a good standard with varied meals and regular snacks. Overall very pleased with our experience and happy in the knowledge that my father is comfortable and well cared for and his needs are being met.
My partner was transferred from another care home to Willow Lodge. Initially, I was concerned that he wouldn’t settle into his new residence however my worries were very soon alleviated as I realised that Willow Lodge is the right place to meet his increasing needs. The staff are professional, compassionate and friendly towards their residents and their relatives, making us feel part of a family. The environment is bright, welcoming and clean. The enclosed garden is peaceful and well-tended. The home-cooked meals are excellent, catering for any dietary requirements. The social events have been excellent, wonderful occasions when residents and families can gather and share experiences. The staff have not only organised and carried out these events but continue to carry out their work day duties as well. I know that my partner is safe, secure and cared for with compassion and dignity, I couldn’t ask for more and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Willow Lodge as an excellent care home.
My gran has lived here for 18 months now, and she is so relaxed and at home. The staff are amazing! I am totally confident that she is loved and looked after with respect and kindness. The food is great, and the home and all of the residents are always clean.
My husband was placed at Willow Lodge following a difficult time in hospital. He was immediately made to feel very welcome and treated with respect, whilst being shown unlimited love and care from management and all staff. The family was made to feel very welcome and at ease with the situation. We were shown compassion at what was a challenging time and can rest at peace, knowing he is looked after like a family member. Staff are committed to ensuring that all residents are kept safe and are happy within the home environment. Food is excellent and is tailored to what individuals like and clothing is always immaculate. I would not hesitate to recommend Willow Lodge to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one.
The management and all staff at Willow Lodge are professional, empathetic, caring and inspirational to watch. I feel my brother is safe, loved and cared for. I recently spent quite a lot of time at the home and was impressed by everything I saw - it was the birthday of a couple of residents and the extra effort all the team made to make the residents feel special was amazing. I am so grateful we found Willow Lodge - I wish more care homes had the same standards of love, care and professionalism that is on display at Willow Lodge.
I had asked Mum's care home manager if we could hold a small tea party at the care home to celebrate Mum's 90th birthday. The care home manager said yes and was more than supportive and helpful to ensure the tea party could take place. The home provided a tasty buffet and the care home cook made a delicious birthday cake! All of Mum's close family and their children and especially Mum had a very enjoyable afternoon that we would remember for a long time to come.
I would like to take this opportunity to review the service provided by Willow Lodge Care Home. My father recieves residential care at Willow Lodge, he has resided there for approximately 18 months. It was an extremely difficult and stressful time for myself and my sister when we had to make the decision to place my father in a care home, it was very upsetting and a really emotional time. We were very worried and concerned as to whether we had made the correct decision and if we had chosen the right care home for him. I can now honestly say that we need not have worried at all. From the outset, we have been delighted with the care my father recieves and the way we as a family are provided with updates on his wellbeing. In short, we are over the moon with Willow Lodge. I resist the temptation to name individual members of staff because I would be most upset if I left anybody out, they have all been patient, caring, and professional and I cannot recommend any higher.
My mum had been residing at Willow Lodge for a little under 2 and a half years. It was a difficult decision at the time but I was quickly assured that Willow Lodge was the right place for mum. Mum's needs were met. Staff got to know mum so well, that a bespoke fidget gadget with buttons and zips was made to keep mum occupied when she could no longer walk. Having recently gone through end of life I wanted to express how impressed I am with the staff. They always had mum's best interests at heart, making sure that mum was as comfortable as possible and that she had company when we couldn't be there. The staff are all so passionate and genuinely caring. The end of life care is outstanding. I would recommend Willow Lodge Care Home to anyone whose loved one has dementia.
