Dovecote View is the place where I would recommend to anyone who needed residential care, especially for those with Dementia. First impressions count. From the moment I am welcomed into Dovecote View through their well secured doors to when I leave, I witness the cleanliness, friendliness and care they give to all of their residents. Visitors are treated with the upmost respect and more importantly to their residents. I feel that I am part of the Dovecote View family. Entertainment is well managed and special events are always a great success. Well done to the kitchen staff for all their hard work. My mother-in-law is receiving the best care that I could wish for. Thank you Dovecote View Care Home!
My father has been a resident for a few months now. I was really unsure if he would like it but he has settled in so well. The staff are super friendly and chatty, and nothing is too much trouble. He feels so grateful for the care he is getting, he feels like he is in a five-star hotel! Thank you to everyone at Dovecote, I really couldn't recommend it enough to anyone.
My friend has been a resident for many months now. I visit regularly, I am always greeted by friendly, smiley staff who make me feel very welcome and that I can visit anytime I want to. Their care is exemplary. Their patience and kindness never ending. They are so caring and kind, to everyone, tailoring the support to each resident to ensure they are all looked after the way they need as an individual. If the world at large could see what it's like in Dovecote, no one would fear going into a care home! I honestly cannot recommend it more highly, it's wonderful.
I was very wary about putting dad in a home but after just a couple of days of him being there I realised I had nothing to worry about, he was so happy there and everyone was so friendly and helpful and looked after dad wonderfully. I would recommend Dovecote View to anyone.
Mum had a respite stay back in the spring, following removing her from another 'care' home for her own safety. I placed her with Dovecote. I was so impressed with the whole ambience of Dovecote, mum has moved in permanently. It is a lively, caring and fully encompassing environment for mum to live. The staff are exceptional and keep me fully informed of events and how mum is doing. The shear number of staff is fantastic to see and I feel Dovecote create an inclusive family atmosphere.
My mum has been at Dovecote Care Home for almost a year now and she has settled in very well, each day can be different to her. The staff at Dovecote are excellent I can't say enough. All the staff are brilliant and patient and caring. The staff have a calm way with he residents at Dovecote, the support we have had from them has helped us as a family to adjust to my mum's situation they support the resident and their family. The care and understanding is 100%
My carer is a gem, so kind and thoughtful and helpful. Overall good. The staff were extremely willing and polite and immediately called me by my Christian name. Helpful, would have been if, on arrival, I had been given a note of meal times and routine for passing on my laundry. So pleased my family were made welcome by phone or visit.
My mother has received excellent care and attention from Dovecote. The staff are caring and positive of attitude and there have been plenty of occasions when I feel they have gone the extra mile. This 'extra' effort has been particularly evident in the way the staff have helped my mother adapt and settle. The home is clean and bright and the garden spaces provide safe and beautifully kept areas in which to be outside. I have been impressed by the way they have spotted on a couple of occasions - when nothing major has been wrong - that Mum was not quite 'herself' and have communicated this well with both myself and the GP. This attentiveness is something that you can hope for, and perhaps rightfully expect, but I know it doesn't happen everywhere. The food is good and the morning and afternoon programme of activities varied and well run. There is a continuity of staff and a welcome that gives Dovecote a family feel, it's not just another Home.
The relief I felt over a year ago when I found Dovecote was overwhelming. I have not once been disappointed in the care my mum has had at Dovecote. The team there are caring, but encourage independence, they are professional but have a sense of humour. My mum feels valued as part of the community of residents and staff at Dovecote. The home is always clean and looks cared for, and the gardens are lovely. There are daily activities for those who want to participate, and regular trips out, to places like the Weald and Downland Museum. As a visitor, I always feel welcomed, and the staff have never been abrupt to me. I am reassured that I can phone Dovecote and I get a response. The team there also phone me and communicate any concerns they may have. Above all, I feel that my mum is safe, and is in a place where she is genuinely cared for, somewhere that even if her dementia worsens she will be able to stay and people will know her personality.
