View Full Details of Heathfield (Horsham) LtdMum moved in here a few months ago and our experience has been very positive. Staff are kind and helpful, also low turnover which is important. Room is small but has everything Mum needs. Food generally good and there is an option of eating in room if required. Building is older than some so has limitations like narrow corridors and older bathrooms but nothing that detracts from care. Overall very happy and feel Mum is in a safe environment.
They do their best to make you feel at home.
My mother has said every time I have visited how kind everyone is. She has felt very safe and well looked after. I have found all the staff to be very welcoming every time I have been to Heathfield and they have shown how caring they are by wasting no time in calling the GP when they were concerned about her.
Since becoming a resident I have settled in well. I like the majority of residents and staff. The home provides a selection of activities such as film club or Scrabble. As well as having a lovely garden to enjoy.
Mostly a good atmosphere if a trifle rushed, always hurried. I do appreciate carers have a lot to get through, so time is important. One staff member is particularly good, also the lounge and sun room are quite tastefully done and welcoming. I'm 93 now and feel quite safe.
My mother-in-law has been at Heathfield for 18 months, moving in from her own home at the age of 95. Such a big change for her but the staff and mainly the management were outstanding. Their patience in helping her each day to feel at home and comfortable in her new surroundings made things for her and us so much easier. With regret, all parties feel now is the time for Mum to go into a nursing home. This will be a very sad day for her, also my husband and I but we cannot thank the home enough for all they have done for her and we would highly recommend Heathfield to any family who needs support with their loved ones.
My mother has been admitted for two weeks of respite care with a view to permanent residency. She has been assessed by Heathfield during this time and has settled in surprisingly well. We are very impressed by the care and consideration provided by all the staff and very much hope she will be able to stay as long as possible.
I have no complaints at all, as all of the staff are most helpful. The food is very good. I like to ask for small portions as I don't like to leave any food at all. I love to walk in the fresh air a few times a day - weather permitting.
Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff. They are kind and caring. It's a home-from-home with only 35 residents. My mum is very happy and settled quickly. And as Heathfield is a charitable trust it's good value and the money goes into caring for its residents. We could not recommend more highly.
Heathfield is a beautiful care home which is very pleasant to visit. Always spotlessly clean does not smell. The food is plentiful and well-presented. The staff are all very caring and polite and helpful.
Our father always spoke so highly of all the colleagues, from the management team, carers, and catering colleagues. I would agree wholeheartedly, our father was looked after in a very caring, but unassuming way, as we were when we visited him, nothing was too much trouble.
I am the sole carer for my friend who moved into Heathfield four years ago. I confidently know she is well looked after and all her needs are met. I am fully informed of any changes and circumstances that may involve her. The staff are always welcoming and have time to listen to any concerns that may arise.
My Aunt became a resident of Horsham Heathfield after a spell in hospital and unable to live independently. She has settled well there. She reports the staff are friendly and nothing too much trouble.
Mum is well looked after. She has specific needs which are met by the staff. She has her ups and downs. The staff recognise and react accordingly. The room is always spotlessly clean and her ensuite bathroom. The whole house is well maintained and access using the stair lift is good.
Convenient access times. Staff are available to ask questions about the care of my mother. Food and hygiene are good. All staff very friendly and helpful when needed. Only point of dissatisfaction is that clothes we have brought in I have had to sew names into, but I was repeatedly advised that there should be tags for clothing for each resident's room.
My brother has been a resident in Heathfield for over a year now, after suffering a stroke. He has nothing but praise for the care he has received right from the beginning. He tells me that the staff are very caring and that the chef always produces excellent meals. The staff are welcoming when we visit and the home feels friendly and beautifully kept. Communication is good and I am always kept well informed about my brother's health. I would definitely recommend this care home. It is well run and it is reassuring to know that it is run on a not-for-profit basis, with excellent management.
Heathfield is quite a small care home and therefore the staff know the residents well. The staff are friendly and very caring and always happy to spend time with the residents and chat. They are quick to spot any health issues and act upon them. The food is of good quality and menus vary with a good choice of meals each day. The standard of cleanliness is high and there always seems to be a cleaner working throughout the day. Activities are arranged on weekdays varying from musicians from outside, films, crafts, chair exercises etc. Residents always appear well looked after and well dressed.
Excellent standard of care and commitment to all the residents. A wonderful team runs Heathfield and I have never had any worries about any issues I may have raised as everything is acted upon straight away with always full information passed to me. I would recommend Heathfield without reservation. Everyone is wonderful.
Mother in law was very happy during her week respite stay, the staff were all welcoming and friendly. It gave as peace of mind while away on holiday. She was able to have her hair done and the option of joining in with activities. She would be happy to stay there again.
Home was comfortable and staff were caring. Food was plentiful, appropriate and very good. My mother was on respite for about four weeks with a view to becoming a permanent resident. Unfortunately, my mother's health deteriorated and communication with the family was not good. Management assumed my mother was showing signs of dementia; in fact her heart was failing and she had periods of delirium. Despite requests for my mother to be seen by her GP, this did not happen and she ended up going to A&E, she was admitted and sadly died. This may have been inevitable but better understanding of her condition and better communication with her GP and family would have helped.
