View Full Details of HeathfieldMum has been a resident for some years, originally together with her husband until 2022. Having chosen Heathfield following short, unsuccessful, periods in two other homes, we have been delighted with the level of care which Mum consistently enjoyed - the team are excellent. Meals are very much as mum, (and dad), would have enjoyed when they were in their own home, with plenty of choice and variety. As a family, we were able to visit at any time, without notice and often did when close by for work as well as for planned visits. We recommend Heathfield and are delighted with every aspect of mum and dads care.
I cannot express my gratitude to the manager and the team at Heathfield. Nan went in and was apprehensive as she really didn't want to leave her home. She very quickly settled due to the care and compassion of the staff, from the manager, cook, carers activity coordinator and even cleaners and maintenance guy. Every member of the team does their absolute best to ensure the residents are well looked after and above all happy. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
We give thanks to the manager and all the staff at Heathfield, for looking after my mum who suffered from dementia for over 3 years. Everyone there was so caring there for her until she sadly passed away at the beginning of the month. We would recommend this care home to anyone who will need to use one in the future.
My friend arrived at Heathfield in May 2022, following several falls at home, and a stay in hospital. She had poor eyesight, worsening all the time, and her hearing was minimal. The manager and her amazing team at Heathfield took her in at a low time in her life, when she was not eating or drinking properly, unable to move around on her own, and uninterested in life. It took patience and loving care, but Heathfield did ensure that my friend started to eat and drink properly, and to get more out of life. The manager and her staff have been unfailingly friendly, efficient, and professional, and they have become part of my friend's extended family. Heathfield itself is not at all like an institution. It is always clean, homely, and welcoming. The garden, too, is lovely, and is a brilliant spot for their occasional parties. Around the time of my friend's final illness, we were so pleased that she had the best possible 24/7 care, and that she was among people who she knew and liked.
My mother has been a resident at Heathfield for over two years as a stroke survivor who requires 24-hour care due to Cognitive damage. She has been a resident in a few other homes, and I have to say Heathfield has far exceeded the care in comparison to what she received in the other places. They show abundant patience and care to all residents and are constantly striving to make their time in the home enhanced and comfortable. The home is spotless, and her room is always so lovely. It really does receive five stars and, hands down, is the best home I have seen. We are so lucky the manager and the team support her, and we are thankful she is in such good hands.
I spent just over a year at Heathfield and sadly I had to leave for various reasons. I was at my happiest while there, all of the staff without exception were kind caring and attentive. The home was always clean and the bedding always fresh. The food only got better when a new chef started although it was not bad before. The manager was so kind to me as she was to everyone. Nothing was too much trouble. She was always concerned about her residence welfare. I miss them all dreadfully and I am not sure I can find anything to match it.
We cannot thank the manager and all her staff at Heathfield Care Home enough for looking after my late father-in-law. He was resident for 2 and a quarter years and passed away 5 weeks ago. From the moment he came to the home the staff were so caring, kind, attentive and loving towards him and kept us up to date with any concerns. The food is exceptional and varied and the home is very clean. What we liked about Heathfield is that it is small with just a few residents and is like a home from home. My father-in-law was always smiling when we picked him up and when we took him back and that speaks for itself. We cannot recommend Heathfield highly enough.
My mum had been diagnosed with dementia, and her memory was failing really fast, and she was no longer able to look after herself. I researched many care homes in the area, and after speaking with the manager at Heathfield and visiting the home, which is quite small and personal, I was instantly assured this would be a good place for my mum to live. Although not a specialist dementia facility, the staff are all trained to look after people with memory loss and are dedicated to making the lives of their residents as safe and normal as possible. I cannot praise them enough for the way they made Mum a part of the family there from day one. Mum loved the home-cooked food and the activities Heathfield provides. It’s a clean and comfortable home. Unfortunately, my mum passed away in June 2022, so she wasn’t there for long, but the kindness and care she was shown in those few months were wonderful. I would certainly recommend Heathfield.
Sadly, after a very long illness caused by Dementia and old age, my mother passed away peacefully on the 20th January 2022. I am leaving this review for the manager and her dedicated, skilled, patient, loving and totally wonderful staff to thank them for all the care and kindness they gave to my mother and myself over a period of five and a half years. We daily enjoyed so many happy times when there was fun and laughter and total engagement between residents, staff and visitors. The varied, home-cooked food at Heathfield is prepared by a very experienced chef and his team, delicious. During the lockdowns every resident was kept safe from the Covid virus, links with their families were maintained via telephone and video call, it was dedicated care at its very best. Heathfield is a home from home, I cannot thank everyone enough, I shall be forever in your debt. I will miss you all.
My husband was at Heathfield for daycare (two years) and then as full-time resident (four years). All the staff engaged with him as a person and he was relaxed and confident in their care. When he was hospitalised they kept in touch with his progress and took him back to Heathfield at the first opportunity (which exceeded the hospital's expectations) and took great care to feed him appropriately as a convalescent and support him back into the Heathfield community. Throughout the coronavirus lockdown I was confident of their care for him as a member of their family and that I would be contacted should anything alter in his health or well-being. The atmosphere within the home was chatty and bright, with carers taking time to sit with the residents, play ball games, help residents complete puzzles and generally socialise with the residents. Visitors were made welcome and their contact with friends and family was encouraged as being important for the residents' wellbeing.
Our dear Mum passed away on December 26th at Heathfield Care Home, and we can’t thank them enough for their kindness, love and care for Mum over these last six months. Nothing was too much trouble; they were always friendly and helpful to Mum and to us. Covid restrictions were particularly difficult for us as a family but were able to see Mum when appropriate, and she was kept safe at all times from getting the Coronavirus. Our thanks and gratitude go out to all at Heathfield, and we would not hesitate to recommend this lovely care home.
My sister came to Heathfield care home after some difficult months in the hospital. The care she has received is second to none. My sister has thrived considerably and has now accepted that she needs permanent care. Something her family were unsuccessful in doing. The staff are excellent and the management is a shining example of how caring with strong leadership leads to a successful placement. During these exceptional times, her management style has taken the stress away from her staff, so they can concentrate on the job in hand. Well done.
My mother was in Heathfield Care Home for nearly 5 years. During the whole of her time as a resident, she received wonderful care from every single one of the staff at Heathfield. The staff always had time to talk to mum and nothing was ever too much trouble. Mum had a lovely room overlooking the garden, with her own bathroom. Heathfield is a small, very well run home and maintained to a high standard. I would recommend Heathfield.
My mother recently passed away after having spent 2 years as a resident at Heathfield. During this period her dementia gradually deteriorated, however the manager and staff looked after her with care and compassion during her stay with her "second family". They were also a great support to me and my family during this sad time. I would thoroughly recommend Heathfield as a first class care home. Thank you to you all.
Our Nanny was a resident in Heathfield for over 2 years until she sadly passed away. We chose Heathfield because it was local to us which enabled us to pop in - we were always given a cheery welcome and always offered a cup of tea -and usually a homemade cake or biscuit. The rooms and the communal areas are well looked after, the garden is peaceful and very private and there is always something new being developed in house. Heathfield always find an excuse for a tea party and lots of things are scheduled throughout the year, family are always encouraged to attend. It has a lovely, homely, yet very professional feel, the manager and staff are on hand to offer support. This was very much appreciated in the last couple of weeks and we will always be grateful for the care and respect they showed Nanny and also to us. Nanny went to Heathfield because living at home with Dementia had become too difficult for her. We would recommend Heathfield to other families in similar situations.
My mum was resident at this lovely care home for a year and the staff were so kind to her and provided a high quality of care. I would definitely recommend Heathfield Care Home to anyone who requires a high standard of care in a beautiful environment for a member of their family or friend.
This home has been very good. My husband has dementia with Lewy Bodies.
My father has settled in well at Heathfield and is very appreciative of the care provided by staff. Previously, a very independent person living in assisted accommodation, the transition into a care home could have been very difficult. But the staff's kind, considerate and tactful handling of my father's situation has made it so much easier for him, and reassured his family. We like the fact that we can visit without giving advance notice - the staff are always welcoming, and they have made it possible for my father to speak weekly to his brother in the U.S.A. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and it is clear that all residents are encouraged to be as active as possible, and the trips and activities are varied and imaginative.
Heathfield is a small and homey residential care home. The family is able to visit at any time and drinks are always offered whilst we are there. A great deal of care and attention is given to my father to ensure he is comfortable and we receive frequent feedback as to his progress and well-being. The manager is excellent, always comes to say hello and is available to answer any questions we may have. The staff are caring, friendly, attentive and on hand to assist if need be. My father's mobility and his general health has improved since he has been at Heathfield.
My Mother has been a resident for 3 months and during that time there has been extensive refurbishment going on including new dining room furniture, carpets and complete redecoration of bedrooms. The home is now very well up together and looks and smells clean and fresh throughout. The staff are very cheerful and caring and the food is freshly cooked and of excellent quality. Visitors are welcome at any time and the manager is always keen to discuss my Mother's progress and well-being. There are plenty of activities going on, with excursions being planned for Summer. I can wholeheartedly recommend Heathfield as a small, friendly, warm place for anyone who is unable to cope in their own home any longer.
