View Full Details of Harmony HouseWe looked at 13 nursing homes before deciding on Harmony House for my mother. This is a small nursing home with only 29 beds, so it is like a family and their biggest attribute is the staff and also not to forget the management. They are a great team. My mother has been in there six years now and I would definitely recommend this nursing home. She is treated with care and dignity.
I love Harmony House. Lovely care home they looked after my grandad really well and make his last days amazing, best care home ever. Lovely staff.
My Grandmother was moved from rehabilitation to Harmony House Nursing Home for end of life care in April this year. This was a worrying time for the family as my grandmother had always been fiercely independent and we had heard so much negative press regarding care homes in general. Well, we had nothing to worry about. The Manager and her team were excellent. They made my Nanna very comfortable, looked after her with dignity and respect and made us feel welcome whenever we visited. They were always very polite and offered visitors a cup of tea as well as the residents. Nanna passed away on the 1st September aged 99 but we were made fully aware of her condition, were kept informed by the nurses so we knew what to expect. Again following her passing the staff treated us very well and with empathy. Although Nanna passed away my families Nursing Home experience was a positive one.
With regard to the love, care and concern shown to my mum I was extremely pleased with how I saw her being treated. The staff went over and beyond to facilitate my desires in trying to communicate with my Mum. Being in the U.S., Texas to be exact, this was trying at best but I was never told they were too busy to take the phone to her or as possible do a SKYPE call as well. I genuinely believe the staff and in particular the admin staff member showed love and compassion in such a way Mum felt it. Having worked at a Nursing Home myself in the States I am painfully aware of the difference between "just doing the job" and actually becoming an integral part of the elderly's last days. I think Harmony House staff deserve accommodations for their excellent service and you can feel free to post that for all to see!
