View Full Details of Koinonia Christian Care HomeThe manager made the journey to see my husband whilst he was in Hospital. This I found going beyond the bounds but such a caring thing to do. My husband settled into Koinonia 5 weeks ago and appears very happy. The care and support we both receive is amazing. It is a big weight off my shoulders knowing he is well cared for by the wonderful team there. Being just 10 minutes walk means I can see him often and there's always a welcome from the staff with a cup of tea.
My husband has been in Koinonia for a couple of months following a prolonged stay in hospital. He has since been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. This whole process has been incredibly frustrating and stressful. We couldn't have managed without the wonderful staff at Koinonia. It took him a while to settle and he has been a difficult and demanding resident. The staff seem to be able to look beyond the disease and see the person behind the diagnosis. I am so grateful for all the support we have both received at this warm caring home. Everyone on the staff goes out of their way to foster a supportive relationship with each resident and their carers. The senior staff are very knowledgeable and defuse awkward situations with warmth and humour. I am eternally grateful we found our way here - grateful too for the hugs and humour which have made this dreadful experience a little more manageable.
I had the pleasure of entrusting my mother's care to Koinonia Christian Care Home for two years, and I couldn't be more grateful for their exceptional service. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that this wasn't just a care facility - it truly became a home for her. The staff at Koinonia were incredibly friendly and attentive. Over time, my mother developed genuine friendships with many of them, which brought her great joy and comfort. Their dedication created a warm, family-like atmosphere. The Christian ethos of the home was reflected in the compassionate care provided. One of the lovely features of Koinonia is their beautiful garden. As my mother was an avid gardener in her younger years, the presence of the garden added to the homely atmosphere. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Koinonia to anyone seeking a caring, homely environment for their loved ones. The peace of mind knowing my mother was in such good hands was invaluable.
My mother moved in to Koinonia in the Spring and was made to feel very welcome straight away. The care manager and staff there have taken time to get to know Mum and recognise her needs. They have been flexible and respectful but also can see when she might benefit from some gentle encouragement and coaxing. Mum is appreciating and thriving with the Christian input and it is lovely to see her so content. Staff are very accessible and always happy to answer my queries. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home.
Koinonia provides an extremely caring environment, looking after my mother's physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs. The care manager and the senior carers take time to explain how my mother is progressing, particularly concerning dementia, which I have not had much experience with. They are very sympathetic and go above and beyond to resolve any issues. The home is always clean and welcoming. My mother is considered a family member, rather than a service user.
Koinonia is a God send to so many, including to my grandmother and myself. It is a place filled with love, kindness and warmth. It means so much to me that my grandmother is in very capable and caring hands.
My father went into Koinonia for emergency respite in December. My mother was taken ill & she was my father’s main carer. From the moment I met the manager, I had a very blessed feeling the care home was the right place. My father has been a Christian all of his life. He is surrounded by like-minded people. My father’s needs to settle in the home were met with outstanding care, attention, and perseverance, from the team. Overcoming issues that in the past, we had not been successful with. I have been amazed! Staff are always friendly, and attentive & updates are reported efficiently. My father now seems settled and happy, he is more interactive at times and I see my old father, who has now been in Koinonia for 4 months. I feel he is surrounded by love and care. I am confident he is safe. So very grateful for the team that has made my father a home. All so important to our family. Beyond my father - I have also felt care & support from the staff at a very difficult time.
Excellent home for my dad. Staff very caring, can’t complain about anything. They cater for all his needs and he has settled in very well.
I want to write to say how grateful I am for the lovely day you and the staff made for Mum’s Birthday. She thoroughly enjoyed being spoilt and being the centre of attention. We were invited to stay for tea and enjoyed a meal and cake, which was lovely.
Great experience. The staff at Koinonia are very caring, often going the extra mile, even caring for those who visit. You always get offered a drink and a biscuit. The management team superb too so, caring, you feel like it’s home from home.
They are always friendly and make us welcome when we arrive.
I came for a week's respite while my wife was away because I have Parkinson's disease and need help when my medication wears off. I particularly appreciated the care that I sometimes need at night. The staff were very attentive and kind. I attended some of the activities and enjoyed the exercise class but would have liked more. I appreciated the midweek service. I went to the lounge every day but found it hard to make conversations with the other residents. My daughters live nearby and came to take me for short walks otherwise I wouldn't have had much walking exercise which is important for my condition. Overall, I was happy with my room and being looked after.
We found the care Mum received was excellent. The staff were very kind and caring. I would highly recommend this care home. And has wonderful Christian values and always had activities for the patients to get involved in.
Amazing Christian care and support for my husband. Challenging mobility and double incontinent, but always very sympathetic to him. Would highly recommend - so good to have a Christian ethos.
My mother recently celebrated her 95th birthday, and thanks to the home had a lovely day. The staff went out of their way to organise a special birthday afternoon tea(including an enormous and amazing birthday cake made by the cook) for her, my husband and myself and two extended family members. We are extremely grateful for all they did to make the afternoon special. Unfortunately, because my mother has vascular dementia, she will not remember much of the event afterwards, but we are very grateful to know just how much thought and effort went into the day. Nothing ever seems too much trouble for the staff respecting care for my mother, and it is very reassuring to know that she is in extremely safe hands in a lovely Christian environment in these latter years of her life, with her needs and increased limitations. A very big thank you to the manager and all staff.
I recently visited my mother in Koinonia on five consecutive days. The atmosphere was consistently warm and caring. The staff were extremely thoughtful of my mum's needs and showed her care and respect. My mum's room was kept clean and tidy. I ate with my mother, and the quality of the food was very high. I would recommend Koinonia to anyone looking for a care home.
Excellent care home where all residents are treated individually with Christian charity, commitment and professionalism.
My Aunt was with Koinonia for almost two years and was extremely well cared for and cared about. The staff are very kind and caring and looked after her with love and a sense of being part of a family. I am so happy that she found them in the latter part of her life and would have no hesitation in recommending this home.
A good relationship with everyone at Koinonia. Nothing is too much trouble. Care is outstanding. Access has been difficult due to covid - they have had no covid situations. Perhaps more routine updates of our resident would be preferred. To our mind - a wonderful home!
My parent receives extremely good care and is happy and relaxed in the Home. The staff are very patient and understanding and his general health and well-being have improved considerably since he moved into the Home and stopped living on his own.
