View Full Details of Manorfield Residential HomeMum spent a wonderful 10 months at Manorfield under the amazing care of all the staff. Sadly Mum had Vascular Dementia and struggled to communicate at times. The staff at Manorfield found amazing ways to communicate with Mum, encouraging her to take part in the fabulous array of activities they hold each day. With their help, she quickly became a firm member of the 'Manorfield Family'. As her daughter, I too was welcomed to be part of the 'family'. The staff updated me on Mum's progress which helped me to feel part of Mum's life as I lived so far away. When I visited, the staff greeted me with love and an outpouring of kindness that will always be remembered. Mum was looked after with care, love and attention. My visits and times with her were precious and the home always made me and my family feel so very welcome. Each and every member of staff took time to chat, and support us through the end of Mum's life journey through to her passing - I'm eternally grateful to them all.
We booked my mum into Manorfield for some respite care for a few weeks in late 2024. This was her second time at Manorfield, having stayed initially for 10 days of respite care earlier in 2024. My mum had not experienced a care home prior to staying at Manorfield and we were unsure how well she would adapt. But she honestly loved it in there and was excited to be going back. Based on my Mum's experiences of Manorfield and my own from visiting her there, I can honestly say that the staff are wonderful and the place has such a happy vibe to it. It's not too large and there are not too many residents at any one time. Consequently, all the staff know all the residents and it feels like everyone knows what's going on. My mum had stayed at another care home briefly in November 2024 and it had not been a good experience for her. She was unhappy there for various reasons and did not feel safe so I removed her and booked her back into Manorfield where she enjoyed her stay.
Manorfield is a very special place, staff not only care for your family but love them and go above and beyond. Manorfield staff care not just for residents but family and friends too, we become family. I am eternally grateful to each and every staff member for the care, love and support they have shown our family. Staff have guided us, hugged us, kept up our spirits, made us tea and offered us food if needed. I will forever be grateful for such a wonderful team of people and cannot recommend Manorfield enough. Even I would choose this home for myself when the time comes.
My father was admitted to Manorfield in October, following a lengthy stay in hospital. From the moment he arrived, he has been met with warmth, empathy, and care second to none! Each and every member of staff is absolutely lovely and you cannot but help appreciate the wonderful atmosphere which exudes throughout. Dad has a lovely room, with a French door opening out onto his own patio. He really enjoys interacting with staff members and other residents and particularly likes the musical entertainment. It is heartwarming to know that he is so happy and settled. Communication is also excellent, which is so important.
My parents initially stayed in Manorfield on a temporary basis, but have chosen to make it their home permanently. The team of staff make it an outstanding residential home and my parents are very well cared for. There is a comfortable, welcoming feel to Manorfield and the approach to care is adaptable to suit everyone's needs.
Manorfield Care Home, is outstanding! When I initially called to make an enquiry, I had a good feeling, after speaking to the manager of the home, she took time to answer all my questions. I looked at 5 care homes, before Manorfield, as I stepped through the door I knew it would be perfect for my father. The staff are absolutely brilliant, making a difficult transition of moving my father into care, so easy. I previously worked for Sage House (dementia Support), so understood dementia, but dealing directly with my father was so challenging. However, the staff won him around, he settled from day one, they are so dedicated and kind, an asset to the home. The care home feels homely and is spotless. They have daily activities and lunchtime meals look delicious. The quality of care is excellent! I cannot speak more highly of this wonderful place. It was absolutely the right choice for my father, which gives me complete peace of mind, as I know he is in safe hands and well looked after.
My husband had been in three care homes before this one. From the moment my daughter and I first looked at care homes we were sure this was the place for my husband so warm (not just temperature) and friendly, cannot say enough good things about this care home.
From my first interview with staff at Manorfield I was impressed by their person-centred approach; how they wanted to get to know my father's personality and how he might react to different approaches. He had dementia and could be very suspicious & difficult, but the staff made huge efforts to win him around with their constant good humour & loving care. I was always made welcome and have been so impressed by all the staff and their efforts to encourage Dad. They learned to make him laugh and brought out the best in him; even though he could be very rude & insulting at times, they didn't respond negatively. They were watchful for his health and were absolutely wonderful to both him and me when he came towards the end of his life. I even miss my visits there, because of the lovely staff! The home is modern and appears more like an attractive guest house, which I knew would impress Dad. He never quite worked out where he was but always spoke very highly of both accommodation and staff.
My mother moved into Manorfield in October 2023. I cannot thank the team at Manorfield enough for the fantastic care that my mother received while at the home. Life in her own home was becoming difficult, despite four care visits a day, and her quality of life suffered. All that changed when she moved to Manorfield, initially for respite, but then full-time. She absolutely thrived there, making friends, joining in activities and being looked after incredibly well by all the staff. The difference in her was obvious and she had a wonderful time there for the last six months of her life. As a son, who became a carer, I can't thank them enough for the difference it made to my life either. The stress levels were lifted, and my visits became quality time instead of the demanding visits before. I would also like to comment on how they dealt with Mum's passing, they were so kind and caring during her final hours, and they were also so very empathetic and supportive of us, as a family.
Manorfield Care Home is a fantastic place. The care and compassion they treat our loved ones with are outstanding. Any request is provided, and any need is catered for. I had previously had my lovely mum in there and when it came to a very dear friend needing care there was only one place I would have wanted her to be.
Always friendly and welcoming to visitors and residents alike, the staff are caring and attentive at all times. Am pleased to have chosen Manorfield for my mother, always a difficult time when leaving your own home to live somewhere else, the move was made as easy as it was possible to be. The accommodation is light and airy and always clean and everything is on one level, which is really helpful when mobility is an issue. An excellent choice.
Manorfield is not perfect or excellent but it is very, very good!
Mother was very well cared for at Manorfield by all the staff. We are so pleased that we chose this residential home. I looked at many and this was so much nicer in so many ways. The rooms are really spacious and well-appointed, there is a variety of communal areas all different and light and bright. The managers were so kind and efficient, with excellent communication. They have brilliant working relationships and support from the GP and community and dementia nursing service. Sadly Mother passed away at Manorfield but throughout this time, the care and compassion, dignity and respect afforded her was fantastic. Thank you to all the staff at Manorfield, we could not have chosen better.
I am writing this as a visitor to Manorfield Residential Home. Over the years I have visited friends or relations in many homes and lately had cause to go to visit a friend in Manorfield, which is close to where I live. Never in my life have I found such a wonderful caring place - as noted in the excellent ratings - congratulations!
Mum and Dad stayed at Manorfield Residential Home, following a brief stay in hospital, for a period of respite care. The care they received was wonderful, especially for Dad who has early-stage dementia. The staff could not have done more to make them feel cared for and it was reassuring to the family to know that they were being so well looked after. When they need further respite care in the future we will definitely be back in touch.
The moment I stepped through the door at Manorfield Residential Home, the warmth, care and gentle ambience was tangible. My husband stayed for two weeks respite care and at the end was overwhelmed with how ‘at home’ he had felt for the full two weeks. The staff resemble one large, loving, happy family with every resident being fully embraced within it. Look no further if you are searching for the perfect forever home for your loved one. Seeing and experiencing Manorfield is believing!
Husband and self-entered for 2 weeks of respite care. The home does not have double rooms. As a result, my husband (with dementia) was extremely confused about waking up and insisted he was leaving. (Impossible for family reasons). To alleviate the problem, a larger room was found and two beds were put in, to act as a joint bedroom. The remaining room was turned into a sitting room. So in effect, we had a suite, although not adjacent, and he then settled down. Occasional nighttime incidents were thus able to be handled by my calling for help for him. I cannot praise the home enough for accommodating us in this way.
Mum moved to Manorfield at a very stressful, scary and painful time for Mum and me. It was just before Covid vaccinations came in and we had exhausted every way of keeping Mum safe at home. I walked into Manorfield and it was homely, comfy, friendly and, above all, clear that the staff really cared. I have worked in care myself for 35 years and I knew Mum would be happy. She was. Mum had a stress related condition that cleared up as she was relaxed, enjoying herself and getting good food. I can’t praise the manager and all the team enough for the loving care that they gave Mum. Mum sadly passed away in April, but the team made what would be a difficult time for me so easy. Mum was treated with tremendous dignity. One staff member was brilliant at liaising with Mum’s surgery. What touched me the most at the end was the team all standing as a ‘guard of honour’ by the front door as Mum was taken into the care of the undertakers, I will always be thankful to the team for that memory.
My nan moved into Manorfield Residential Home 5 weeks ago and I cannot say how lovely the home is. They have not only supported my nan through this very difficult time, but the whole family. My nan is very settled, the staff are wonderful with her and very patient. I could not recommend enough, the level of care has been very good.
My aunt has been in Manorfield Residential Home since last August 2022. She is 96 years old, has survived three very bad chest infections and Covid. This is only due to the wonderful care that she has received from the Manorfield staff. We were lucky enough to celebrate her 96th birthday with a family party there which was encouraged by the staff. Wonderful residential home. Cannot praise them enough. Thank you.
