View Full Details of The MartletsI found The Martlets to be conducive to my brother's needs. The staff were attentive and informative. My brother's room is sufficient in size and pleasantly decorated. The facilities include a spacious day lounge incorporating a television, radio and HiFi. There is also a library and games compendium. The garden is well-kept and available to my brother and his guests. I understand he may be taken to the local village to purchase from the shops.
My father has been with you for 4 years and mum for 10 months. Both have different needs and the care and love shown by the staff has been amazing from carers down to domestic staff. They also make us as a family feel included in everything and this gives us complete peace of mind. Thank you so much for all you're hard work and compassion.
The room was small and dingy. Furniture was about 1970 style. The en-suite had no chair, I suffer from osteoarthritis and diabetes in lower limbs, the shower unit had seen better days. The hot water never got above warm and came out cloudy the first two days. Arrrived on a Friday to 'fish and chips', batter needed 'hammer and chisel' to get into, chips cold and rubbery, the plate was hotter than the food. Most of the lunches consisted of frozen or dehydrated vegetables, roast potatoes had tough skins. I cannot recall having any fresh veg at all. Brown bread for toast ran out on the third day. Boiled eggs were solid. Overall food was not good, even residents sent back half-eaten meals. At best, on a good day, you'd get 1 star!
I cannot fault the staff at The Martlets, they look after my wife so much and she is always happy when I see her, the managers are amazing as well, whenever I have a question or query their support is amazing and always go the extra mile to help me as well as my wife, I'm so glad my wife went to The Martlets and not anywhere else, thank you to all the staff and the managers.
My partner was very happy at The Martlets - he had a good rapport with the staff and they tried so hard to tempt him to eat and drink. After a prolonged spell in hospital (broken femur) and the discovery of cancer, he wanted to go (back home) to The Martlets. He was given exemplary care when he returned. I asked where would he like me to end his life, and had no hesitation in asking for it to be The Martlets. All the staff were extremely kind to me and kept me up to date with everything. I cannot thank them enough.
My mum moved to the Martlets earlier this year and the staff have gone out of their way to make her feel loved and cared for. She can be quite a difficult person at times, but the manager, carers and nurses have got to know her ways and do everything they can to make her happy. I couldn't ask for more.
My Mum has been resident at The Martlets since 2020 with my Dad until he died in 2024. The staff are all lovely and Mum chats to them all. They always have activities and trips that she does and she really enjoys them. I feel happy knowing that Mum is so well looked after.
I am very happy with the care my Mum receives. More importantly my mum is happy at The Martlets - her room is comfortable with new furniture and the staff are very caring. She is well looked after.
My dad left the home unnoticed by staff and walked to Rustington without anyone knowing he was gone! This is a red flag! He was found but they tried to make out it wasn't a big thing, security is not great. I feel the staff do not have adequate training in dementia care, one carer there told me he is not the sort of resident they want there. Glad to say he is now in a much better place receiving the care that he deserves.
We could not have asked for or found a better care home for Mum. The staff were always very helpful, caring and understanding. The Martlets was/is bright, clean and tidy. The food was of excellent quality. In short, it can be compared with a 5-star hotel. A big thank you to all the staff.
All the time my mother-in-law was in this care home she was looked after extremely well. The staff were always very caring and helpful. The home was clean, bright and the food was excellent. The staff treated my mother-in-law as part of their family. when people asked what The Martlets is like I would say 'It's like staying in a 5*hotel'.
All the staff are friendly and welcoming when I come in, with a smile and a hello. They are all fond of my Dad. He enjoys the food, which is saying something for my Dad. He is cared for and any queries are taken seriously and sorted out by the staff.
Mum is starting her 3rd year of living in The Martlets, although Mum is not as active and sharp-minded as she was, she is still treated with fondness, friendship and discretion by each and every staff member. We as her family are always greeted with smiles and regular updates on Mum's ever-changing ways. We are so grateful to each and everyone and trust them wholeheartedly to help Mum with all her personal needs and couldn't wish for a nicer care home.
My father has been at The Martlets for a couple of years now he is always well looked after and happy. I can not fault the staff and the management team are amazing whenever I see them they are always happy to assist and help especially 2 ladies and the team leader is faultless and always has a smile on her face and my dad gets on really well with her. Keep up the good work guys. Regards.
This was my husband's second visit to this care home. He was happy to return here having previously stated he did not want to return to other homes. All his visitors commented on how clean, caring and friendly this home was. Grandson turned up at bathtime but the carer kindly delayed this until after his visit. Very accommodating. Both my husband and I will be quite happy for him to spend another period of respite here.
My mother has been at The Martlets for over two years. She is well cared for. The staff are amazing, supported by top class team leaders. It is such a clean, bright and airy place. Top marks for all in what can sometimes be a very challenging environment. I would recommend it to anyone.
My mother was a resident at The Martlets, West Sussex. In the six months Mum was there, she was cared for to a very high standard. The team are caring, kind and professional. Mum was very happy in this home right until the end. From a daughter's point of view, I found the home clean, the laundry never muddled Mum's clothing with other people's and it was always clean and well-kept. I felt I could talk to office staff and nothing was too much trouble.
My dad was admitted as an emergency resident due to a very difficult situation that had occurred at home, in which he found he was unable to stay where he was. On admission, we found the management and staff extremely professional and supportive, and they provided us with the utmost understanding and made my dad feel at ease immediately. The home is welcoming with a lovely atmosphere, and nothing is too much trouble. My dad has been at The Martlets for the past two weeks, and the difference in him is unbelievable. He has been very well looked after and has expressed that he wishes to remain there. I cannot thank them enough for how they have made a sad situation into a positive experience and continue to do so. I feel that I have not had to worry, and it has made this situation easier for my dad. I would recommend The Martlets to anyone, as they really have been outstanding.
My Mum went into the home for a trial period, she is now at the home full time and loves every minute of it there. The staff and team leaders are very good and caring. The food is very good and the cleanliness of the building is very good. I am very happy that my Mum is being well looked after. It has taken a lot of weight off my shoulders knowing that she is being well looked after.
I was made to feel very welcome by the senior team who went to great trouble to show me around, answer my questions and deal with my concerns. The assessment was thorough and sympathetic, both to my wife's needs and mine and has left me feeling completely confident that she will be safe and fulfilled. I will be able to enjoy my respite in complete confidence that she will be cared for professionally and kindly.
