View Full Details of Mill River LodgeMy brother has been at Mill River Lodge for a number of years. He calls the place his home and has always been very content here. We as a family have always been treated with great respect by the staff and the management and this care shows amongst the residents. Thank you for all your help and support.
Very pleased with all aspects of the care home. So clean and staff always very welcoming. Any worries are always dealt with and my mother is always well cared for. The food also is of a high standard. The staff keep me up to date with anything going on with my mother. The home gives me great peace of mind as nobody wants to put their parents into a care home but this one is very good! Thank you.
I feel that my nan is cared for extremely well. The staff are compassionate and attentive. Staff go above and beyond and I trust the staff have my nan's best interests at heart. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere and I know my nan is happy here. Big thanks to everyone at Mill River Lodge, I highly recommend.
Good care provided. Excellent cleanliness and food.
My mother has been a resident of Mill River for over 2 years. During this time I have been impressed by the care and professionalism shown by all the staff. There is a very friendly atmosphere in the home. I have been made welcome on my visits and know my mother is happy and being well cared for. There is a wide range of activities such as singers, violinists, exercise classes and games. My mother enjoys participating in these and I enjoy going to watch.
Throughout my dad's stay his condition has inevitably deteriorated and he has needed more and more care and understanding which he received in plenty. The constant kindness and patience shown by the care staff have given me such comfort in the knowledge that he has been in dedicated and gentle hands. During his final days, he received good old-fashioned nursing care, always looking comfortable, fresh and peaceful. I will always be grateful to Mill River Lodge.
We are extremely happy with all aspects of the care that my mother receives. All the staff are very professional.
My uncle moved into Mill River Lodge a few months ago. He has been cared for very well and is now looking younger than when he arrived. He took a little while to settle into this new stage of his life but was given encouragement by all members of the team, who were most welcoming. He is now very happily involved in the life of the home, liking all members of the team and pretty well every aspect of the community he is now part of. The family are all very positive about the home and the way he is looked after.
My mum was a resident for over 10 years. It was her home and, for me, it became my second home. Care, compassion and dedication are the strong qualityies shown throughout the entire working staff. From the office, cleaners, maintenance, events co-ordinators and carers to the nursing staff everyone works to a high level of professionalism. The entire staff work as a strong unit committed to creating a positive loving experience for all of its residents.
The carers are all very lovely ladies. They all cared for my mother. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to look after her. They catered for all her needs. The manager, the team leader, everyone, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
My mother has been a resident for eleven months at Mill River Lodge Care Home. The home is run extremely well by the manager. The nursing and care staff are so caring and kind, the atmosphere is fantastic, my sister, brother and I are delighted with the care being given to our mum. The whole team really are superb, a big thank you to you all. Five stars are simply not enough.
My mother has been in the care of Mill River Lodge for 15 months now. She is settled and well looked after. She is always clean and well-dressed when we visit. All the staff we meet are polite and courteous and treat the residents with kindness, care and compassion.
My 98-year-old mother, suffering from dementia, moved to Mill River from another care home for geographic convenience. I thank Heavens every day that we made this move! She is now happy, loved, calm and dignified. The staff are part of our family. I know every one of them by name. I observe them from afar, and the one-to-one love and attention they give to the residents is so gratifying. My mother actually told me today, "I hope I live to 100!". There can be o greater compliment.
The care provided to our mum was exemplary throughout her time in residence from 25th April 2022 until her passing on 11th March 2023. Despite the increasing dementia, we are confident she was very happy and contented during her time at Mill River Lodge. When visiting we always found the staff to be very accommodating and caring, including frequent updates on her well-being. We were impressed with the cleanliness each time we visited and thank you all for providing the palliative care towards the end of life.
All the problems I have found stem from lack of communication and understanding between management and carers. There's definitely a shortage of carer staff which leads to a lot of waiting time and rushing.
My mother has been a resident of Mill River Lodge for 4 years. Recently she has become weaker and more frail. After a suspected stroke, she was taken to hospital. She was comfortable, safe and loved by all the staff. She passed away peacefully in her bed, cosy warm and quietly. Thanks you the love and wonderful care of all the staff.
Following a second stroke and with my stepfather being unwell, my mum needed professional respite care from mid-May, after a review of potential options, my family and I opted for Mill River Lodge and we are so pleased we made that choice. Although not as luxurious as some other local options, the key thing was the quality of care and the empathy and professionalism of all of the staff looking after Mum. She stayed in Hardy Wing for 8 weeks. On 7th July, they called me to advise me that Mum had had another stroke and to alert me to the fact that she was not going to recover. This enabled me to call my stepfather who was able to get to spend 30 minutes with her before she passed peacefully away. The way the call was handled and the way that the staff engaged with my stepfather before and after her passing were wonderfully compassionate and supportive. Sincere thanks to everyone at MRL for everything you did for Mum. Suffice to say, we can recommend Mill River Lodge very highly.
My father has server dementia and came from care at home into Mill River Lodge. Our first choice has, in fact, been another home which was recommended to us by a family friend. We could not move him now. The staff at Mill River are fantastic. We visit multiple times a week, and my dad is always clean and happy, and the facilities are spotless. When my dad had a stroke, it was the home and not the hospital who spotted that was the issue.
I like the staff, good and kind.
So pleased Mum is at Mill River, all the regular staff are very attentive and caring, The office staff are always very helpful and go above and beyond their admin roles. We are kept in touch regularly with all Mum's needs and couldn't wish for her to be in a better place for peace of mind, knowing she is well cared for.
