View Full Details of Oakland CourtMy sister and I are very happy that my mother is in such a lovely, caring home, they look after her needs with loving care and attention. The activity days are well thought out, you can see my mother enjoying certain ones her face lights up, she particularly loves the dancing and skittles, not so good with word games, everyone joins in with a happy atmosphere, as we have been there at the time. They have the Christmas party in a couple of weeks which they do superbly, with a great choice of food and entertainment, we will be there to share with my mother. Thank you to all the staff at Oakland Court.
Dad has been in Oakland Court for just over a year and he settled in very well. Initially, food was a problem because he's a vegetarian. However, after consultation with my father by the chef, a separate menu was put together which means he now has an excellent choice. Dad's needs are looked after very well. The entertainment activities are well received with the musicians, gardener and word games being his favourites; chats less so although he has so many stories to tell about his holidays around the world I'm sure he'd benefit. The organisers do their best to encourage him to take part, and he's often pleasantly surprised that he enjoyed the activity, and definitely sounds more perky when I speak to him in the evenings. Cleanliness at the home is excellent, with all facilities regularly cleaned. Improvements are constantly being made. The people who deal with the clothes washing are very professional, making small repairs when needed and also letting me know when items need replacing.
My mother has been a resident at Oakland for approximately 18 months. The staff are kind, caring, respectful and attentive to my mother's needs and she is made to feel a valued resident. There is a busy entertainment itinerary organised for each week, offering a wide range of fun activities for the residents. The atmosphere at Oakland is very homely, friendly, positive and welcoming. Any concerns are listened to and addressed by the staff, I have no hesitation in recommending Oakland to friends.
Oakland Court is a safe and caring home with lovely staff who go the extra mile for their residents. The food is very good and there is daily entertainment to keep all happy and involved. Highly recommended.

Residents 100th Birthday event. Very delighted to see how well and happy she is. No feelings of anxiety or worry anymore. Staff are, without exception, very kind and thoughtful. They pulled out all the stops to make it a very special occasion. She had the most wonderful day! The activities provided are stimulating and fun. All is thoughtfully presented. Congratulations and thanks to all involved.

Very good variety of activities every day. Taken out on trips occasionally. Mum is very happy there. All the staff are very happy and caring.

All the staff are caring and do a wonderful job. Plenty of entertainment/activities are organised. Just been to a Christmas party which was enjoyed by all. Great event. Mum has been a resident at Oakland Court for two years. All staff during her stay have been excellent, caring and certainly go the extra mile. Mum enjoys the activities which are varied and interesting. The recent summer party was a huge success and as a relative it was lovely to meet other residents and their families.
Lovely setting, fantastic food and entertainment. Staff very attentive and friendly. Good atmosphere. The lounge was decorated very nicely and really enjoyed the quiz. Everyone involved played an important role and the afternoon was certainly enjoyed by our family.
Oakland is a lovely care home with a nice garden. The restaurant always provides a lovely cake for the residents on their birthdays, and all the carers are pleasant and friendly. Our mum has always been treated with dignity and respect. It's not always possible to visit Mum as much as we would like to, so the care and attention given to her by staff is greatly appreciated. The carers do a great job during difficult times, especially through Covid. Thank you.
Mum came to Oaklands from the hospital at the beginning of March. The plan was for a couple of months of respite care to build up her strength and mobility. Not only did both of these improve, but we also saw an improvement in her mental health and by the beginning of April, she decided to become a permanent resident. The care is second to none, the food is wonderful, and the home has a lovely atmosphere. A mixed and varied set of activities keeps the residents engaged. Above all, the staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive.
Such caring people. All the staff are considerate and caring to all. They treat all with individuality, empathy and dignity. Love to visit.
We had a lovely afternoon at the annual Christmas party for residents - Mum has been at Oakland for a number of years so we have attended lots. The staff treat Mum as family and know her likes and dislikes extremely well. The food is always an amazing array you would expect to see in a 5* hotel. Such a variety for all tastes from extremely large prawns, crab and salmon to beef, turkey, ham, quiches, coleslaw salad, hot choices and exceptional desserts. Everyone is so friendly and attentive.
Oakland is a really lovely care home The staff are always welcoming and friendly to residents and visitors. The level of care is good and staff know individual residents well. There are many activities on offer and residents are encouraged to mix. Managers and staff are well-trained and interact well between themselves. It was a happy atmosphere. The rooms, lounge and dining room are exceptionally smart and always clean. The gardens are lovely and it's a 5 minute walk from two cafes.
My mother first entered Oakland Court on a respite basis. Since then, she herself decided to stay as a permanent resident. Before her residence, she lived alone and was fiercely independent, but largely alone. Since her stay at Oakland Court she has blossomed. She takes part in the activities, loves the staff and the food! Knowing that Mum is being looked after properly, with compassion, kindness and dignity, is a relief to all the family. Whenever we contact or visit Oakland Court, without notice, everyone is at ease, happy and so helpful. Full marks and thank you.
My only complaint is the poorly equipped bathroom. No cupboard, can't use the shower (no seat) as I can't stand to wash (I am short).
There is always a smiling face and a greeting when the front door is answered or a happy voice at the end of the phone. Nothing is too much trouble, and I always receive a reply or call-back if one is promised. It is a huge relief to know that my Dad is very happy to call Oakland Court his home and that the personal care he receives is of the highest standard. On the medical side, I regard the knowledge of your qualified staff as an exceptional bonus in the care and well-being of a 93-year-old! Thank you, all, for everything you do for me, my dad and our family.
