View Full Details of Oakwood CourtMum was with Oakwood for 5 years. She struggled to settle due to her Alzheimer's/dementia and the home was so supportive during that time. We found the staff to be friendly and caring throughout. As Mum's dementia progressed I felt reassured that she was being well cared for. The home was always spotless and light and airy and most importantly full of life. We sat by Mum's bedside for many hours in her final 9 days and were so impressed with the care and dignity shown to Mum and also for us. Nothing was too much trouble and if you have to make the difficult decision of care for your loved one. I would not hesitate to recommend Oakwood. Thank you!
At 91 years old our mother recently came to the decision that she could no longer carry on living independently. She wanted more help and above all companionship. Having visited a few care homes, the moment she walked into Oakwood Court she knew this was where she wanted to be. From the outset everyone involved couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating and have gone out of their way to help ensure a stress free transition. Nothing has been too much trouble. Her needs and wishes are sought and acted upon by everyone and Steve, the wonderful handyman, has done all he can to ensure her room is as cosy, comfortable and homely as can be. We were also impressed with how a recent medical situation was dealt with quickly and efficiently. What we her daughters always imagined would be a difficult time, has proved anything but. In just a few weeks, our mother has settled in, is happy and feels very safe and secure in her new home. Maybe the delicious food she enjoys plays a part too.
Oakwood feels like a family. Staff always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. A bright clean environment with a warm welcome to everyone. Any issues are dealt with immediately and everyone is kept up to date. Respect and dignity are at the forefront of care at Oakwood. Food is nutritious and delicious. Beautiful cakes baked individually for birthdays. Thank you to all at Oakwood.
The home is home from home and a lovely, friendly, community with great staff. It is always welcoming with many smiling faces no matter what scenarios they are facing. Food and activities are always to a good standard.
I have found the home excellent, although my mum has not taken advantage of the great activities. the staff are very friendly. I would happily recommend this to people.
For the 2 years my mother was looked after very well, I think she enjoyed her time here. As a family, we had no problems with her care. She has now sadly passed away.
The care team are amazing. Loving, fun and very professional. They go above and beyond to help my mum feel welcome, safe and happy.
One member of staff is fabulous. The staff are lovely. Food and facilities are very good. Love the bright, open space, and the care home is just what we need for our mum - she's very happy here.
Oakwood Court has been a wonderful home for my mother. My siblings and I visited Mum several times a week and we were always met with a friendly welcome and offered a cup of tea. I know Mum also appreciated the warm and friendly atmosphere at Oakwood. The food was consistently good and as Mum became frailer and less able to look after herself, there was always help at hand. Medical requirements were also met which was so helpful for us who had been handling Mum's meds for the years leading up to her move to Oakwood. Choosing a care home requires a lot of thought but if I was choosing again with the knowledge I now have, I'd definitely pick Oakwood for a second time.
I have always found the staff at Oakwood Court to be very helpful and caring. It gives me a great deal of peace of mind to know that my mother is being cared for and that she is happy.
Visited Mum on Mother's Day. A lovely afternoon tea was laid on for all guests and residents - delicious! Tables were decorated beautifully, and the staff mingling with all. I always feel very welcome when I visit Oakwood. Mum is very, very well cared for. Thank you.
Oakwood is an excellent home who take great care of my sister who is suffering from Parkinson's disease. The atmosphere is always happy and the staff always have a smile - a winning combination.
The day my wife first went home, we had a big welcome banner and a goody hamper in the room. She felt at home very quickly, and all the carers were very attentive at all times. The management was always ready to help with any problems. The home was very clean and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend Oakwood Court Care Home as the care is excellent.
I viewed 11 homes for my 90 year-old mother before choosing Oakwood Court and after nearly a year, I know we made the right choice! The home is run by a housing association and the professionalism shows. It is purpose-built so the bedrooms are roomy and have their own bathrooms. The communal areas are homely but dignified, and everything is spotlessly clean. There is a proper kitchen with fresh meals and homemade cakes every day. The hospitality is great, with regular invites to social events and activities. All the staff at every level have been friendly and welcoming and staff turnover seems low. I'm particularly impressed by the healthcare support. The senior carers communicate regularly with me and respond quickly to any changes or concerns. Since moving in Mum has become less anxious, her eating, hydration and mobility have improved, and she is more confident about joining in and trying new things - so all in all I think Oakwood is doing an amazing job!
The home and the carers are all very good and go over and above with their caring. The home has a homely feel, all residents look happy and well cared for. I would recommend this care facility highly.
Very happy with all aspects of care. My father is very well cared for and feels that this home was an excellent choice. Food is always fresh, homecooked and variety of choices. Cannot recommend highly enough.
One member of staff... an absolute star! Couldn't do enough for Dad. Really helpful with bed issues. One lady... made Dad happy by getting his tea right... a small thing, but really important. The administrator... communicates really well and is kind and friendly. Very supportive of the family. The big room is much nicer.
The staff are so kind and open in communication towards the family. We feel that our parent is in caring and professional hands. We were recommended Oakwood Court by friends, and we would definitely recommend it to others!
When Mum went into Oakwood Court a year ago, she was very low. She'd given up with life. In just a few months, with the help and support at Oakwood Court, her spirits raised, and her health improved mentally and physically. The carers are so kind, and every detail of Mum's needs is covered. She's happy now, and our family always feel welcome when we visit.
Clean and tidy home, with caring staff. Residents always look clean and tidy, in-house hairdresser and plenty of organised entertainment and arts and crafts. My mother has been a resident for three years now, and her room is kept clean and tidy and smells fresh. If she wants to join in with activities, she can, and if she prefers her own company for art, she either uses the main table in the lounge or in her room.
