View Full Details of Romans Care HomeGenerally, he is very happy here and the staff are very helpful and likeable.
Difficult to asses needs and care if not a relative, also the home has very religious leanings and some are non-believers and may not look to attend prayers etc. Otherwise pleasant staff and facilities.
The Romans is an excellent care home for residents to live in their later years. Everyone is treated so well by caring staff and management and the needs of each individual are considered well. My mother informs me that the food is excellent and there is always plenty of choice. My mother's own room, the lounge and dining room are all kept extremely clean. There is a lovely garden where the residents are able to sit when the sun is shining. On arrival when visiting my mother, I am always greeted with a smiling face from the staff member on duty. I am very my mother is now living at Romans.
The Romans is a welcoming, friendly care home. It always smells clean, staff are kind and helpful and remember my name. My auntie is well cared for and happy. She tells me the food is delicious. They are so attentive to the residents and visitors alike. I'm also brought a chair and offered tea, coffee, cake etc. They have BBQs, quizzes, coffee mornings and many activities for their residents and families.
I've always found the staff to be friendly and a lot of fun! They have been brilliant in helping Mum gain confidence in using the facilities and encouraged her to chat with other residents and be involved in the planned events, including the Church ones.
Mum has been at Romans nearly 3 years and is still very happy and content there. The staff are so friendly and treat her with respect and dignity and share a joke with her too. Mum enjoys the Christian association and the fact that her local Church representatives are able to visit and hold a communion once a month for anyone who wishes to attend. She also enjoys the quizzes that are organised regularly. Mum is very happy with the food and it's great that there is a residents' meeting regularly to discuss and iron out anything. It is a huge relief to see her so settled in her 'home from home'.
I'm so impressed with Romans Care Home. My mother was taken in for respite care and she's still there three months later. The management and staff are kind, respectful and clearly happy at work. There are plenty of activities and the food is great! All needs are taken care of with the respect for each individual. It feels like home, not just a care facility. Mum wants to live there permanently!
I came here for respite care for two weeks. I have put on weight. Doctor wanted me to come because I lost weight and I was a bit frail. I live on my own, no family, only good friends. I am going home Tuesday 30th April. Feeling much better. Also have ulcerated legs. They pushed me in a wheelchair to surgery to have my legs dressed.
The Romans is a wonderful care home. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The place is always very clean and tidy. The Christian aspect is wonderful. The residents are very well cared for and are happy.
Dad has been a resident at the Romans for the past 18 months and initially found it difficult to accept help. The staff have always been kind and friendly, always a smile and a reassuring word whenever I visit him. He agrees that he is very well cared for and cannot fault the home and the people working there. It is a huge relief to know that he is safe, happy and is being well looked after. A huge thank you to everyone at the Romans for all that you do.

I think first impressions are a good gauge and I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit. Very clean, friendly and residents seem happy. Not an easy job but the staff always have a smile on their faces. Would recommend this care home.
Mum has been a resident for over 3 years and it has given her a new lease of life since going there. The staff are like an extended family always giving time to chat and showing interest in her. Their level of care is excellent and I have complete trust in them. The regular activities and events such as quiz afternoons, baking and crafts provide both social opportunities and important mental engagement. Going to visit her feels like seeing her at her home and I feel very fortunate that she is in such a wonderful environment with Christian values at its heart.

Dad has been in the home for about a year now and in my opinion feels safe and well cared for. All the staff go beyond what is expected of them and Dad speaks very highly of all of them. Food is very good and he certainly doesn't go hungry.
Mum has been a resident in the Romans for six years and has been very happy during her stay. All the staff, from those providing care to the housekeepers, kitchen staff, laundry ladies and the maintenance man and management, are happy, kind and helpful. The Romans has a very homely feel and I really feel our mum has a second family now! Also, I want to say that during the pandemic I felt they went above and beyond and stayed cheerful when n they were having such a very hard time.
