View Full Details of Sussex Grange Residential Care HomeMum moved into Sussex Grange in October 2023 following a week of respite earlier in the year. She had received home care from Sussex Grange since 2021 so it seemed only natural for her to move in. It is a small home and in every way, it is home to its residents, not an institution. All of the people who work there are committed to caring and kindness. My mum loved it there. She really enjoyed the food, she enjoyed that the carers took time to talk to her and listen to her stories. There were daily activities but it was down to Mum whether she joined in or not, depending on how she was feeling. She had a short stay in hospital before she died, I asked if she could come back to Sussex Grange for terminal care and the answer was "Of course, this is her home". Her end-of-life care was superb. The family were allowed access at all times of day and night to be with Mum and we were welcomed and cossetted at a difficult time. At all times Mum was treated as an individual, with dignity and respect.
My father has been a daycare resident for about 7 weeks, he comes home every time full of praise for the home, I did have my doubts as to how he would adjust to this, but I cannot fault how brilliant the care staff all are, they have made him feel so comfortable and are very welcoming, they have some kind of activities almost every day, which he participates in and loves, he loves the food, especially the home-baked bread which they do, also the cakes, he frequently is sent home with two slices of cake, as we have to pick him up on the tea round, Overall very satisfied and it has also taken the pressure off my mother, so she can have a free day with no worries. I would highly recommend Sussex Grange, thank you to all for making my father's stay a very enjoyable one.
Our Dad has led an active independent life until earlier this year when needs changed and he decided to move into Residential Care. Having retired to live in Selsey 35 years ago, we began our search and quickly came across Sussex Grange, offering a beautifully maintained home and gardens. Dad has been a resident for six months and the whole team provides care and support in a kind and caring way, where residents' individual needs are of paramount importance, nothing has been too much trouble. So much thought is given to celebrating events at every opportunity to enrich the resident's lives, as well as extending invitations to their families. This has proved to be so much more than a home from home and we are so very grateful.
Dad was first looked after by the excellent care home team. When he became unwell the staff recognised that Mum was struggling and were able to offer us respite care which was very much appreciated. Dad has now become a permanent resident. He is very content and we are happy knowing he is being well looked after. Sussex Grange is a lovely care home set in beautiful gardens which the residents enjoy to the full. It has a lovely family atmosphere and the staff and managers are very kind and caring. Visitors are welcome at any time and are always offered a drink and biscuits. Mum visits Dad regularly and staff welcome Mum to Sunday dinner each week which is a highlight of her week. In addition to a weekday daily activity, a lot of thought and work goes into arranging special events from film nights to Holiday Week, from coffee mornings to a very memorable Father's Day Afternoon Tea complete with tablecloth and flowers. Sussex Grange is a home-from-home. A real gem.
Holiday Week 2024 - What a great week! A variety of events to sort all ages and lovely to see all the generations mix. It was delightful to be invited into their home to join in and residents, relatives and staff alike seemed to enjoy themselves. Food and drink was generously provided to enhance the experience. A very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and the care and priority given to the residents was very evident. Clearly a lot of thought and work went into organizing and delivering the event and it was appreciated by all those who attended. The fact the residents are still talking about it weeks after the event shows what great memories have been made. A great success - looking forward to the next one!
A true care home with a real family home atmosphere. Every time I visit I always reflect and think, would I be happy with my mother or father living here and the answer every time is YES. Both the residents and staff are always happy, I often am taken back by the amount of love and respect the care staff show the residents. The residents themselves always share stories of activities the staff have been doing with them, from going for walks to sitting together having a cup of tea and a chat or even pub quizzes and cinema nights in the evening. I have also witnessed resident needing to be helped for personal care reasons, this has always been done with compassion whilst keeping the resident's dignity, no embarrassment for the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. It truly is a family feel within the home and I love to visit each week.
The time my mum spent in Sussex Grange was uplifting for her. She enjoyed her time here. She liked all the staff and thought the staff did their best to keep her happy and content. The last two weeks of my mum's life she was really looked after with care and dignity.
Excellent care, cannot speak highly enough of the Sussex Grange team. All staff are very patient, caring, respectful and thoughtful. My mum was very well looked after for the whole six years she lived there. Would highly recommend this first-class home.
A true “care” home with a real family home atmosphere. Both the residents and staff are happy, and nothing is too much trouble, from personal care to food and drink requests. We always know our father is in safe hands and feel confident he is well cared for.
It was very nice, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I found no cobwebs. Nice location. My daughter's dog could visit, and I am very fond of her. I enjoyed talking to the other residents. The gardens were lovely, and I could walk around them.
My mother initially started receiving home care from the excellent team at Sussex Grange. She has now moved into the home and has a lovely, good size en suite room which has a small patio area. The staff are always very welcoming when we visit and take the time to get to know the residents personally. The food is of a good standard and there are plenty of activities arranged. The management team are very approachable and listens to any concerns we may have, They recently facilitated it so that my mother could watch the live stream of a family wedding which she was unable to attend and made it a special day for her.
My uncle has been a resident at the Sussex Grange for a number of years. The care home is an attractive building with well-maintained gardens within easy reach of village amenities and within a five-minute walk of the beach. In-house entertainment and various outings are arranged for the residents. My uncle occupies a spacious room overlooking the gardens, and he has often told me how well he is cared for by such friendly staff. I, too, always receive a warm welcome from all the caring staff. I would highly recommend The Sussex Grange.
Always received excellent attention and all staff know how to deal with us oldies.
My father has been a resident for at least 18 months, and he is looked after by the whole team with care, compassion and gentle humour. We, his family, feel that his needs are being met 100% and that he is being cared for with dignity and respect. You feel welcomed when visiting, and the manager and team are incredibly helpful when we have any queries. The atmosphere of the home makes it such a happy place to visit.
My father has been a resident for over three years, and we have been very impressed with the care and service for him. All the staff are fantastic and care about the guests, which are without fault and so rare these days. I have and would continue to recommend Sussex Grange to anyone who wants the best care for their relatives.
So pleased with the care provided by the team. The manager was amazing, as were the other staff. Felt welcomed, and they always ensure the best care. Work swiftly to ensure she was comfortable. Was lovely, clean, hospitable, and overall, happy feeling inside when visiting my nan. Thanks.
The management and staff at Sussex Grange are extremely kind and thoughtful. They were especially so in January 2021 when circumstances required additional support and above all a caring nature. Both my mother and myself were helped during a difficult time when the Manager and her team went far beyond the call of duty.
I have always found the staff are very person-centred in the way they relate to residents and always put the residents needs first. There is a nice homely feeling as you enter the building and residents seem very happy and well looked after. The management team are always looking to improve the service and embrace new ways of working for the betterment of the staff and residents. I would thoroughly recommend Sussex Grange to any person looking to offer their loved one's outstanding residential care.
Domiciliary care - for past two years has been good, carers are efficient, management good and on time. Good value. At New Year mum, the service user, was very ill. The care service and associated home worked together brilliantly to avoid hospital admission. At the first opportunity, mum went into the home. They looked after her in the best way possible. After a month, the difference is amazing. Mum will be staying at Sussex Grange as a permanent resident and is very happy with her care. Managers and owner are easily contactable, staff are kind and efficient and mum l.oves the quality of the food.
I have observed that the staff at Sussex Grange work together as a team to provide a kind and caring environment for the residents. The accommodation is beautifully clean, warm and cosy. The food is excellent and individual diets are enthusiastically catered for. On occasion when my parents were unwell staff were quick to contact the local GP practice and also access community services. Care is provided ensuring maximum dignity for the residents. Extended family are welcomed and well supported by the caring staff during difficult times.
