View Full Details of Hatley CourtThe Manager has always been very kind friendly and helpful, any issues I had he was very capable of sorting out. He keeps everything to a high standard and tries to make changes as he moves forward. I was very happy with my nana living here
I have been visiting my mother since she became a resident at Hatley Court Haven. I have generally visited on Sundays and have lunch with her. The lunches that I have been served during my visit are truly exceptional - restaurant quality. All your staff are marvellous - attentive kind and always helpful, nothing too much for them.
My dad was at Hatley Court for one year he received wonderful care throughout the year. The staff always treated him with utmost dignity and respect. One member of staff was an absolute angel who always had time for Dad as did all the carers. When I would turn up after a long day at work to visit Dad, they would welcome me and offer me a cup of tea.
Mine and my sister's experience has been good. The staff are very kind and caring. The management have always been helpful when sorting out problems and issues.
My mother spent eight very happy months at Hatley Court. From the very beginning she always looked smart and well cared for when I visited and I always felt she was happy and settled. As my mother's needs increased I was kept well informed of "next steps". The staff were caring both to my mother and myself when I visited. I would not hesitate recommending Hatley Court to anyone who is looking for a care home for a family member or friend.
Nanna has always been happy here, but since the new manager started, the home is more organised, no more agency staff, and everyone from staff to residents seem happier. The home has a new lease of life.
My father spent his final months at Hatley Court Haven and I'm so glad he did. He was well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. Staff were kind, considerate and caring. He was happy and enjoyed the company of the other residents. Thank you Hatley Court Haven you are wonderful.
Second care home for mother in law, she is happy there and we are happy too.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Hatley Court to anyone contemplating staying or visiting the establishment. My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience over two weeks and would have no hesitation in doing so again.
I find the care home very welcoming and friendly to all. I visit on Tuesdays, enjoy a very good lunch with my husband. On occasion, he has not been shaved - short of staff I presume! Activities that I have seen are very good, a lovely lady leads and knows them all. Only being there for three hours a week it is difficult to give excellent! When my time comes, I would be happy to spend my last days there.
He considered his room as his home, was happy. Staff always had a cheerful word with him, considerate of his needs.
Mum appears to be happy and content. Her only negative comments regard the food at times which can be very bland/very same a lot of the time. I appreciate it can be difficult to get a resident to do something and they can only be encouraged but feel Mum could be pushed more for the benefit of her well being. There is a lack of communication when there is a change in management (was not aware at all).
Care staff seem caring.
Friends just home from 2 weeks respite, can't praise the staff high enough. Our friend looks so well and her husband who doesn't have dementia but stayed with her loved it too. So much so they have booked for Christmas. We visited and were made so welcome each time nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all.
Hair could be washed more regularly, facial hair removed more regularly. We did supply a lady shaver staff said they couldn't find it. I went to my sister's room, the lady shaver was in the bathroom cabinet. Sometimes false teeth missing. Good food and good activities.
Our wife and mother to two daughters has been at Hatley Court Haven since beginning of July 2022 following five months at the hospital due to a stroke. She came here for a week but family could not cope with the continuous attendance required night and day, therefore fortunately, there was a placement at Hatley Court for her. As you can see from the review below we are essentially very pleased with the care and attention she receives at Hatley Court - maybe she will return home?
I find the home satisfactory for my mother, the only problem is she loses things. Two sets of hearing aids and a watch, also clothes.
The new staff are very willing, gentle and friendly. I am sure that their confidence will improve with training. I would appreciate a quick review with the key carer for my Mum. I am doing a lot of 'detective work' to find her things, and it would be so helpful to coordinate for some consistency and comfort. The same applies to communicating about our joint efforts with bathing, cleaning, and switching on TV programmes which are favourites of my Mum's - especially when I am not able to visit. A bit of planning will make it easier for my Mum and us - the carers. I have always seen my relationship with the Care Home Team as a partnership. I particularly wish to mention one staff member, he works on the night shift. He is very gentle and has been successful in persuading my mum to go back to bed the night a few times. This is very much appreciated as leaving them sitting in the lounge when they are confused is not always suitable. A good word and a smile go a long way!
I visited my mother at the beginning of the month and all residents looked happy and well cared for. The facilities were clean and the lunch smelt very good - we left just before serving began. Members of staff were friendly and attended to the residents needs.
Mum has been a resident for over 12 months and has settled in well. Staff are always smiling and when asked always respond quickly to any requests. The only facility mum does use is the weekly visit by the hairdresser so I cannot comment on others offered but do see regular entertainment sessions going on which a lot of the residents do seem to take part in and enjoy. Since the new manager arrived during the summer the garden has improved a lot which has made mum happier as she likes looking out on it. As a family we are generally pleased to have found a safe and caring home for Mum. She has got used to most of the staff and I assume like all care homes new faces do regularly appear which does take her time to adjust to. Overall this review is positive so keep up the good work!
