View Full Details of The HillingsIt is almost three years now since my Dad went to the Hillings, at the age of 93, for respite care after a long stay in hospital. Toward the end of the respite time period, he decided he wanted to stay there long term. Honestly, Dad loves it here and considers it to be his home. There are some especially warm and kind staff who take care of him and, because I live so far away ( the US ), it is such a comfort to know he is in such good and caring hands. One of the senior carers is a shining star. She talks to myself and my siblings as if Dad is the only person there and is such an advocate for him. She is amazing. I'm so very glad that Dad gets to call the Hillings home and I think he is too!!
Dad is very happy at The Hillings. He has lived there for nearly 3 years and has an obvious affection for the kind people who look after him. A big 'thank you' to one staff member in particular who always has time to discuss his care with us and is determined to get him moving again after his recent hip operation.
I would like to thank The Hillings Care Home for the excellent care they provide for my mother, who has been a resident for over a year. I particularly like the fact that the property is on one level and has small individual lounges which allows residents and carers the opportunity to develop a more personal relationship with each other. The staff are incredibly friendly, compassionate, and professional, and the management team are always willing to listen and provide thoughtful advice on my mother's care Our mother is very happy at The Hillings and enjoys the activities, especially the keep-fit sessions and the lively singalongs, whether with the staff or visiting entertainers.
Our resident has been there 3 years + and over time up and down. Staff have clearly got to know her very well and do the best they can to support her. Thank you.
Three Words: Avoid, avoid avoid! If you love and care about your family member, do not put them in this institution. There is no stimulation, everything is a smoke screen even the picture on the website is carefully selected and do not represent the true aesthetics? The basic needs of any resident are all compromised. A large proportion of the staff do not have a good grasp of English and are difficult to understand, let alone an elderly person with poor hearing which, is one of my main concerns in the event of relating 'accurate' information in emergencies. The incompetence of this home is all down to management who is the biggest gaslighter, she should be a Politician?! This institution is only interested in money which is not invested into the residents for anything! My mother does not even have double glazed windows in her room and she's 95 yrs of age. Previous drafts not noticed for months by management? It is old and dated. The word 'Care' home is questionable?
Very happy with everything. Nan seems happy, staff always welcoming towards me. Seems an excellent selection of activities and the food seems top notch.
Excellent staff. Dad is treated with dignity. Dad is very happy, always clean and well presented. Can't really fault The Hillings. It may not be the newest care home in St Neots but it doesn't have a high turn over of staff and care given is excellent. Staff take time to find out about each resident and sit and talk to them.
An excellent care home with great, caring staff, very helpful.
My mum is extremely well cared for at The Hillings. We are welcome to visit any time between 10:30 am and bedtime. Her meals are catered to her needs, soft and easy to eat. Her room is always clean and tidy and her personal needs are always caringly met. She is always clean and warm and really lovingly taken care of.
Mum is so much better since the change of her day routine. The staff are lovely, efficient, kind and helpful. Feel relieved to find a home I know Mum is safe.
My mother and sister are both permanent residents in The Hillings. They have both settled very quickly. The care is exceptional and they are very happy with the staff, activities, food etc.
All in all it's brilliant here. The carers and seniors treat us with care and respect. The food is good and the entertainment is good and we do lots of different things.
My mum has now been in The Hillings for about 6 years. Although she has got worse healthwise, her care has been great. I am always kept informed even if she gets a bruise. The staff are all amazing and the head of care is fantastic. Always tells me what is going on with my mum so I can not fault her or any other staff. I am glad she is at The Hillings.
I cannot fault the care and staff at The Hillings. Mum is really happy there and that makes us all happy. Mum enjoys the food and entertainment a lot. An overall excellent care home.
My dad has been in The Hillings for over 3 years now and he is very well looked after there. He is kept clean and comfortable and he feels safe and relaxed there. His room is always clean and at a comfortable temperature for him. He likes attending some of the activities such as bingo, chair exercises and communal movie watching. Placing Dad in a care home was a last resort as he became too frail to continue living with us. I'm glad we found him somewhere where we are confident he is being well cared for and would recommend The Hillings if you have a relative who requires a care home.
The Hillings Care Home has been excellent for this resident. She has settled in well thanks to the excellent caring staff. Not an easy job but have gone out of their way to help her. She is treated like a member of the family.
Thank you to The Hillings for the exceptional care and compassion shown to my brother over the past year. The Manager and whole team were nothing short of wonderful, friendly, and caring, always going above and beyond to ensure he felt comfortable and happy. From the first day, time was taken to understand likes, dislikes, and interests and his love for music was soon recognised. My brother enjoyed his food and looked clean and comfortable during our visits. We always felt welcome and knowing he was in such a warm and kind environment gave us peace of mind. From beginning to end, the staff were incredible. Their dedication and kindness will forever be remembered and appreciated by our family.
Site Management and group management are very poor. Truth appears to be alien to them. I am struggling to get him moved to a better (that won't take much) care home and they are not being honest with me or the Social Worker. They can't account for money gone missing on visits to the cash point and shop. Can't produce receipts from shopping trips without a number of email requests and waiting weeks. It does not even deserve 1 star. Do yourself a favour and avoid The Hillings Eaton Socon.
My brother has been in The Hillings for two years. The reason for leaving is mostly so he can be nearer to family. During this time he has been happy but sometimes needed more stimulation. He was sad to leave as was very fond of the staff.
On every occasion, we visit the staff are welcoming and friendly. There is a very homely atmosphere in the building. The staff are very kind, caring and professional treating the residents with dignity. The home manager and deputy act on any concerns we have. We are very happy with the care my brother-in-law receives living at The Hillings.
