My uncle has been a resident in Lily House for over 6.5 years now and it has been a very positive experience throughout. Always very well cared for. I wanted to write a review about the last 4 months in particular as these have been a difficult time for him. He has been very ill and was returned from hospital given not long to live. However, with the fantastic diligent care, support and friendship provided by the staff at Lily House, he has rallied and I am convinced this would not have been the case if the care provided by Lily House was not the high standard that he has experienced throughout and in particular at this critical time. The staff at Lily House really do understand that the keyword within a ''care home'' is the word ''home'' and certainly they welcomed my uncle back from hospital as a family member and have provided the care and attention as if he is part of their own family. Also, the support to myself as my uncle's next of kin during these weeks has helped enormously.
The care at Lily House has been really lovely. Mum has been so well looked after. The staff are always friendly and kind. When they have been in to see her, Mum often says "lovely girls". The room and other areas have always been very clean.
The care home is excellent. Cannot find fault with anything. The staff are all very caring and are polite with me. Nothing is too much trouble for them. My husband still has his own mind for a lot of things and he says the same. He is very happy he chose to get there. I do not worry about how he is looked after as he tells me and I see it for myself.
My brother-in-law has been a resident for 14 months. My wife and I are so pleased that we found Lily House. She is relieved that her brother is so well cared for. Well done to all concerned.
Our mum was moved into Lily House in June 2023. We have always found Lily House to be very welcoming, the decor is light and airy. What makes Lily House special is their exceptional staff. All staff treat our mum as an individual, they always know where she is and what she is doing. The activities are endless and all occupants are encouraged to join in. Everyone is approachable and they are always trying to make life easier for Mum. The gardens are beautiful and well-used in the good weather. Whilst this was a momentous decision for us to place Mum at Lily House it has been the best experience we could have hoped for. Mum is thriving.
My mum was admitted to Lily House in June 2021. She has dementia, and I found that I could no longer give her the care that she needed. To know that she is being looked after so well by such caring, friendly staff, I cannot express enough how much of a comfort it is to me. Mum’s memory continues to fade, but the first question she asks is “does she live here” - when she is told that she does, she is immediately calm and reassured, which gives a measure of how comfortable and safe she feels. She loves her room, her TV and her tea and biscuits. Thank you to all of the staff at Lily House.
Warm and friendly staff, related updates on my mother's care. Pleased with the variety of activities offered to my mum throughout the week and the regular pictures posted on Facebook to keep myself and our family connected to Mum. Always offered a refreshment, kind and caring staff. Reassuring to know Mum is well cared for. Thank you.
My aunt had a fall in September 2021 and wouldn't be able to cope at home after discharge from hospital so moved into Lily House, initially for recovery. A medical assessment revealed moderate dementia (which we suspected anyway) so staying seemed the best option. Very helpful staff that look after the residents and there seem to be plenty of activities to participate in - often themed with national events (King's Coronation, St. Patrick's Day, etc.). Also they have external entertainers and a regular church service. They obviously have to liaise with hospitals and doctors and there are a small NHS hospital and doctor's surgery just across the road. They'll arrange transport for appointments at hospitals further afield like Addenbrookes and accompany the resident. Very glad we could get my aunt a place.
The care staff are brilliant with my wife. They are always assessable for me to ask questions relating to my wife's care. My wife is very happy in the care home. I have always found the staff to be happy and accommodating.
Fantastic, kind and caring environment. Excellent staff. Nothing is too much trouble.
My sister has been in Lily House for four years. She has been well looked after. She does not join in the activities, but that is her choice, but they come in and paint her nails and talk to her. They have a dog that comes into the home, which they bring into her room, so she does not miss out. The manager is also a nurse, so keeps an eye out for any medical conditions that may appear. Overall, this care home suits my sister.
Mum was a resident of Lily House Care Home for about three and a half months, after being in hospital several times in the previous six months, which had led to delirium. The staff were amazing and I felt went beyond the call of duty to help mum settle in and make her feel at home. The carers were always kind and cheerful and very supportive not only of mum's physical needs but also of her well being. Mum's end days were made so comfortable and the support they gave mum and myself was unmeasurable.
I am really happy that we chose this home for my mother. The staff have been really lovely and mum seems to be as happy as can be expected. It's very clean and tidy. The only negative is trying to book times to visit but this is due to covid and is not down to the individual care home. I cannot comment on food and activities as mum hasn't been there long enough and I don't know what she has eaten as she would forget to tell me anyway. Would definitely recommend it.
All staff are friendly and helpful at all times. Even when exceptionally busy as they have been these last 18 months. I am always kept informed as to how my sister is and my questions are always answered. I would not have my sister living anywhere else as she is very happy here. Staff are always on hand to help.
Having been almost totally independent living on her own with no carers, my 98 year old mother became a resident at Lily House at the end of November 2020. She had spent 5 months almost entirely in hospital starting with a fall in July, moving on to cellulitis twice as it never went coping with unbearable pain, water infections, back passage infection, lost the ability to walk unaided, had three more falls whilst being hospitalized, and eventually suffered from delirium and was moved to a specialist bed elsewhere to deal with this. With truly massive cooperation from the Lily House team, we managed to secure a place for her in the dementia residential area. Lily House provided specialist care, support and tender loving care from all staff at all levels which has led to the delirium disappearing over 5 months and moved her today to a more suitable area. What they have achieved is nothing short of miraculous; we thought we had lost our mother, but they have brought her back to us. Amazing.
Lily House is a wonderful home to my uncle. The staff are second to none, always caring, thoughtful, considerate and very caring, not just to my uncle but also me as a relative. I cannot praise them enough.
Mum has been a resident for about four years, she has been very happy, very well cared for and her room is lovely and she is very comfortable. We have until COVID visited regularly and got to know other residents and staff. Really well managed and no COVID cases which is great. Wish I could visit more as she's 91 now.
I find the staff very polite always ready to help even at this very difficult time due to Covid-19. When I contact the home I am always informed of what's happening and given confidence my friend is well and comfortable. I feel that staff and management in the home have worked very hard to protect residents/staff from Covid-19. My friend seems very happy in the home and very relaxed, looks clean and tidy in her appearance. If my friend is happy so am I.
We have found the support and care of our mum very good and we are regularly informed of her needs despite the current COVID situation. We feel Mum is in the best place.
For the four years since my mother came to live at Lily House, I and the family have found all staff has been more than helpful and kind in the care of my mother. Nothing has been too much trouble. Mother has had her ups and downs but has always been treated wonderfully.
