View Full Details of Paxton Hall Care HomeWhen Mum went into Paxton Hall just before lockdown she was a very frail woman. The care and support she received there helped her thrive for the next nearly 5 years. The home is clean and comfortable and the food excellent but it is the tireless care and kindness of all the staff, I believe, that made her last few years so happy and peaceful. I can't thank them enough.
My mother moved to Paxton Hall Care Home in February 2020 just days before the first COVID lockdown. She had spent most of the previous 6 months in and out of hospital and was not a well woman. We liked the comfort and beautiful surroundings that Paxton Hall offered and the staff appeared to be friendly, caring and capable during our selection visit. Quite honestly, we could never have imagined just how much Mum would thrive at Paxton Hall and how much love and care the wonderful staff would show towards her. Over the next almost 5 years, Mum positively thrived under their love and care. She was always smiling and laughing and achieved levels of wellness that I could never have imagined she would see again in her lifetime. All of the staff including the management, administration team, carers, kitchen staff, scullery staff and the gardener have been quite wonderful and helped to make Mum's time at Paxton Hall better than we could have ever imagined.
When my mother could no longer look after herself she needed a 'home from home' not an institution. That we found at Paxton Hall, where over the six and a half years my mother lived there the staff adapted to her changing needs and looked after her with great care until her recent death. We were able to take her out as much as possible and to visit at any time, always being warmly welcomed. I cannot stress enough how grateful we are to the people who cared for my mother with such affection and good humour. When she was able to my mother enjoyed the beautiful gardens and took part in the many activities on offer. I would have no hesitation in recommending Paxton Hall Care Home.
I am so pleased that I chose Paxton Hall care home for my Mother. The staff really care for the residents and do everything to make sure that all their needs are taken care of at all times. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the food is varied and enjoyed by all of them. The activities from a local primary school to a farm visit in the spring are enjoyed greatly. I am kept regularly up to date with how my Mum is doing and enjoy visiting her. I would thoroughly recommend Paxton Care Home with its homely and friendly feel.
Although my mum was only a resident for a very short while, we could not fault the care and compassion shown to her during that time. The staff really care about the residents, and there is a lovely family feel to the home. Until she became ill, Mum was clearly thriving from the care and stimulation she received. I would highly recommend Paxton Hall if you are looking for a home for a loved one.
My mother stayed at Paxton Hall for 3 months up until her recent death. I thought it was an excellent home and my mother had only good things to say about the carers and how kind they were. She enjoyed the food and there were interesting things going on such as a visit from baby goats, lambs etc. who were put on the front lawn (inside a fence) for the residents to stroke etc. and also a visit from some snakes and other reptiles! The communication was excellent and I was kept well informed, I liked that I could visit at any time. They were also very helpful and on occasion when my mum had visitors they brought us out tea and biscuits and it was nice to sit in the courtyard in the summer. The gardens were beautifully kept. On another occasion, a few of us had a takeaway outside in the courtyard and they were very accommodating of this. I would absolutely recommend Paxton Hall and it was a relief for me that my mother was being cared for by good people.
The manager and staff are caring friendly helpful and very compassionate at all times. Nothing is too much trouble. Paxton Hall has beautiful gardens and the rooms are always clean and welcoming. My mother always looked forward to bingo and celebrating different events during the year. At the end of my mother's final years, she was treated with dignity and respect.
I want to say thank you to the wonderful staff at Paxton Hall Care Home for taking great care of my Mother. Nothing is too much trouble for them. It has taken a few months for Mum to settle into her new home which is well equipped for her particular needs. Mum going into a care home has been a massive change for all of us. It is great peace of mind for all the family to know Mum is being well cared for 24/7 and is comfortable and safe. The staff have been attentive, reassuring and encouraging all the way. Paxton Hall is truly a special Home for when extra care and attention is required for your loved one.
My uncle, who I have Power of Attorney for, has been a resident here for over 15 months so we have experienced the care provided at Paxton Hall which is excellent. Paxton Hall is a privately run care home and from our experience, we can see the huge difference between this and larger corporate establishments. All the staff, clearly, take pride in their work and ensure residents are given the best care possible. The manager and her team do an incredible job to give our uncle a safe and comfortable place to live where his medical needs are met and he is very well looked after. We follow the Covid guidelines when we visit and all the staff make us very welcome and are so professional, helpful, friendly, competent and demonstrate genuine care for all the residents.
Dad was treated with dignity and respect during the nine months that he was at Paxton Hall Home for the Elderly. He was a reluctant Care Home resident but he settled well and relaxed into a lovely setting with caring, experienced staff. His end-of-life care was well judged and the care offered to the family was positive. Dad got the ending that he so deserved and wanted. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their work, and the management team for their care and attention to detail.
The manager has a very special gift that enabled her to connect with Mum, despite the horrible effect the dementia was having on her. Paxton Hall became Mum's home for her last few years, and the wonderful staff became her family. She was so well cared for, even through the tough times of Covid. I sincerely recommend Paxton Hall for when your elderly parents need that extra special bit of care and love.
Excellent care home. The staff treated Mum wonderfully during her last couple of years, and due to Covid the staff and other residents were essentially her family for those 2 years. Mum was always well looked after and the staff always treated her with respect and loving care. Furthermore, during the last weeks, they could not do enough to ensure that end of life was as positive as possible for Mum and for us. I would have no hesitation in recommending.
An excellent experience in the last weeks of my Mother’s life. The care and kindness shown by all members of staff was exemplary. Thank you. I would have no hesitation in recommending Paxton Hall for both short term and long term care.
From day 1 my relative was spoiled by all the staff in Paxton Hall; enabling her to live her last years with happiness, fun and surrounded by warmth and what really seemed to be love from the staff. There was comfort everywhere; the Hall itself was the main player with grace and space abounding, a jolly comfortable and spacious room with the grounds looking magnificently colourful seemingly all year round. What more could anyone want when these are added to the really caring staff organised by top-rate management? The Covid epidemic was completely controlled in the Hall, although naturally this did compromise visiting somewhat but with the safety of the residents at the forefront of management’s concerns. I would have no hesitancy at all in recommending Paxton Hall to anyone considering long term care for their loved one.
Paxon Hall provided my father with exceptional care from daily life to end of life care. I couldn't have wished for better care for my father when we lived so far away in Australia. All the staff irrespective of their position or job made the home a place that was comfortable, friendly, compassionate, and welcoming. A warm and friendly environment that nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic communication on a weekly basis but also especially in the last few weeks of my father's life.
My wife had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for many years and after an episode of delirium found herself in hospital, from which she tried to escape several times. To Paxton Hall's credit, they did not automatically accept her as a resident but only did so after a very thorough assessment. In the event, she settled in very easily and quickly. I visited her several times a week over the next 9 months and saw first hand how expertly and caringly the staff looked after her and the other residents. Then came the pandemic, and visits largely stopped. However, the home frequently emailed me photos of her engaged in various activities, from which she appeared to be happy, but it was also apparent that she was becoming very frail. On the day she suddenly deteriorated, I got to spend over 3 hours in PPE at her bedside before she died. In spite of that dreadful evening, I have only positive memories of Paxton Hall, and I am hugely thankful that she spent her last two years there.
My nan was welcomed into the care home in 2016 until 2020. It was such a relief to be able to leave my nan in their care. My nan was so well looked after with love and individual attention. Paxton Hall is professional and trustworthy; my nan was very happy there, especially as all the food is homemade. If I had to describe the care home in words, it would be, wonderful staff, care and attention, trustworthy and loving. I would have never admitted my nan anywhere else.
From the minute we approached Paxton Hall they were empathetic and supportive. Nothing was too much trouble in very difficult Covid times Communication from both the manager and the administrator was superb. If I emailed they responded. If I telephoned they responded. If I called the carers I was always given a really personal update about my dad. They were descriptive and accurate about the Dad I knew so I felt confident they really were aware of his needs and capabilities. I always felt that Dad was safe and cared for at all times.
My mother always said to me, don’t ever put me in a care home. But unfortunately, five years ago my mother was showing signs of dementia, and for her own well-being and safety, I had no choice but to find a care home. I chose Paxton Hall for a number of reasons. It was in a nice setting and just felt right when you went through the front door. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Her room was always tidy and clean. All of her daily needs were met, from her appearance to the care that she needed. Food was excellent. Various entertainment throughout the year and especially on Christmas Day when I would have lunch with her. I could visit more or less any time and always welcomed with a cup of tea. Mother passed away in April. The staff were excellent in keeping me informed of her daily condition until the day she passed away. I would extremely recommend Paxton Hall Care Home.
My mother was a resident for over four years, becoming more and frail and more and more unhinged as time went on. She could be difficult, abusive and even occasionally violent but never received less than the most attentive, professional, and tender care you can imagine. The staff were gentle but thorough, not only giving her the nursing and intimate care she needed but also ensuring that she was always smart and well-turned out. The tone of the place comes, as always, from the leadership, and the management here keeps everybody up to the mark in the best way there is - by example. My only quibble is that the beautiful and assiduously maintained front garden is potentially a terrific asset that might somehow be made safe for residents to enjoy.
