View Full Details of The Star Nursing and Residential HomeMum arrived at the beginning of January 25. Very apprehensive about coming into a care home, but not even 24 hours later, mam was raving about the staff. Very friendly, professional and caring. I have the same sentiments. Always open and honest. Will help in whichever way is needed. The Star is a lovely home.
Mum has received excellent care since she arrived. The care and nursing staff are very engaging with all the residents. Always time for a chat, a smile or to reassure them. The catering is plenty and freshly cooked with a choice of dishes each day. There are numerous activities throughout the month. The public areas and residents rooms are clean and well presented, with a lovely outdoor space. I would highly recommend.
My mum arrived here after having a fall and sustained brain injury, she had already spent some time in rehabilitation and needed extra care and help to regain her health and strength. I was a little dubious of The Star as the location and building from the outside is not the prettiest! However, we were absolutely blown away by the amazing care from the staff who were able to help mum regain the skills to enable her to move on to living in extra care accommodation and living independently back with her husband. Thank you for all the help and support - I would absolutely recommend you for anybody looking for a caring and nurturing environment for their loved ones. Incredible team.
The care and support is excellent. Plenty of activities, lots of updates, and very accommodating with visits! The staff have been amazing, not only for my grandfather as a resident, but also for the rest of the family!
Since my grandmother has become a service user at the star nursing home I have seen such an improvement in her mental and physical health. The home's social media page shows weekly updates and activities that are provided and it's lovely to see my grandmother participating in them. The staff are very approachable when I have phoned to speak to my grandmother and when I've visited. My family and I were apprehensive when my grandmother first went into full time care after living independently all her life but have been more than happy with the care she has received and the acceptance into their family.
Very polite and helpful staff.
My wife has been looked after so well, the care is amazing and my wife and I really liked the activities they do in the home.
Dad has settled well and all the staff are very helpful and lovely. Lots of activities are available if residents want to join in. They allow Dad's dog to visit with me as well which is such a good thing for Dad and all the other residents love to see her too. Always a cup of tea and biscuits is offered when visiting, which again makes you feel welcome.
Very clean, helpful staff. The staff give me great confidence.
Very clean and tidy. All staff very helpful. Also very polite and understanding.
Staff are always friendly and helpful. Mum always happy and well looked after. Staff engage with mum. Activities are fun for mum.
Very good care home. Made to feel one of the family. Very nice staff, always accommodating, from the domestic staff to the management.
My aunt was in the nursing home after a hospital stay for a bad fall, fractured hip, pelvic. The staff were so lovely here, they go above and beyond their duties, caring for residents and their families, always a happy place to go into. Always lots to do if residents wanted to join in. The nurses were very good, always keeping us informed as to what was happening, always clean. Unfortunately, our aunt was too ill to enjoy the things on offer in the community room, always well looked after in her room though.
We placed my mum here as emergency respite care after two very stressful experiences at other homes. We were initially hesitant because it’s not the prettiest of surroundings or buildings but.. We have been absolutely blown away by the care and love of the staff at the Star Show to the residents. The professionalism of the nursing staff and the care and hard work of all staff is second to none. Mum can be challenging but they ‘include’ her in their staff meetings (!) and have so much patience with her. They do fun creative activities with the residents despite lots of them being very ill - they had them all out for mini fireworks display the other evening! Mum has just enjoyed a visit to a local garden centre. The job can’t be easy but the staff make it seem so! Having to put our lovely mum in a care home is the hardest thing we have ever had to do but the staff at the star have made it that bit more bearable.
My husband was at the home for a few months. He passed away peacefully. The care he received was impeccable. All the staff could not do enough for him, care which I could not give him. Three members of staff in particular and all the others are really dedicated to their work. Another particular member of staff is always smiling and happy to help, the manager was great and very helpful. Excellent care, passionate staff looking after everyone's needs. Highly recommend for the care they give.
Bit uncertain about the place at first but after five visits I found the place relaxed and the staff most helpful. The rooms look tidy, clean and good. I bring my neighbour here regularly to see her husband as she can't drive.
My cousin entered The Star Nursing and Residential Home about a year ago when he needed nursing care. As I live some considerable distance away, I was unable to visit him as much as I would have liked and he had no other relatives or friends to visit him. I was, therefore, very grateful that the staff took the time to get to know him and keep him company. He was always treated with dignity and respect and I was kept informed of his condition on a regular basis. My sincere thanks to all those who cared for him.
The nursing staff and receptionist and care manager, are a lovely team. Caring and compassionate. My dad is very happy at the star nursing home. I know my dad is safe and protected, and very happy to have lots of company. I would highly recommend the star nursing home. With warmest regards.
I am extremely pleased with my husband's care in this care home.
The staff have lots of patience, the receptionist is lovely and always chatty and the craft and creativity lady is so happy and bubbly, is helpful and always offers me and Mum a cup of tea. The manager is available if you need to speak to him and is lovely with Mum, as are all staff. Laundry could be a lot better, I have to say. I know Mum is safe here and they have worked wonders since Mum came out of hospital.
