View Full Details of The BeechesI wish I had more stars to award. Our mother was a resident at The Beeches for the final five months of her life and we never had any concern that she was not being cared for as well as possible. All the staff are really lovely, nothing is too much trouble and they clearly understand the trials of dementia and Alzheimer's. The home is always clean, tidy, welcoming and superbly managed. It thoroughly deserves it's 'outstanding' rating. I should also mention that the accounts department at Black Swan are similarly friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely BBQ party, food, music and staff were great.
The Beeches provide care and support, kindness and involve residents as much as possible with all activities. I am so sad my mum has Alzheimer's, but knowing that her life is as full as it can be with love, care and laughter is fantastic.
The staff are so friendly and have got so much time for guests and residents alike.
I came to The Beeches as I had previously lived near here for 13 years. I have been here for two weeks of respite. I have enjoyed my time here, meeting people and joining in the many activities provided. The staff have been exceptional, nothing is too much trouble. I haven't heard a cross word! I have been able to use my electric scooter to use in the village and help with that has been very good. I have been comfortable, warm, well fed and happy. I hope to return for more respite.
A very nice place, clean, staff very nice to residents and visitors.
Father was very reluctant to enter a care home, initially it was a temporary measure but due to failing health the move became permanent. Within a few weeks Father’s attitude changed and he appreciated the 24-hour care and companionship which had all been lacking when living in his own home. The care was wonderful, the food varied and once on returning from a hospital stay, he said that the care staff were so delighted with his return that he felt like a film star! It really became home for him.
My dad went into The Beeches three weeks ago with advanced vascular dementia. He was too far gone to know too much about his stay but seeing how Dad was being treated by all the staff, we knew that he was being given the best care for which we are very appreciative. The staff would come in chatting to Dad even when he became non-vocal and asleep, so I like to think he knew they were there for him. We were kept up to date with any issues and when he passed we have been treated with respect and kindness. Thank you, everyone.
Mother's Day Monday was just one of many overall thoughtful additions to the care given at The Beeches. This meant the staff wished residents individually a happy Mother's Day. My mother was presented with two red roses and special cup cakes made in the kitchen. Thank you to all the staff working at The Beeches for making my mother's time with you feel so homely.
When my mother was in the care of The Beeches Care Home she was very well cared for, we always found the staff caring, friendly and very helpful, both to Mum and us as a family. It is just a shame that Mum passed away before she had been able to spend more time at the home. You brought her smile back after my dad passed late last year.
This is part of our tribute to Mum and to The Beeches Mum entered The Beeches in 2018 where she was looked after by a team of dedicated carers. These are the unsung heroes to whom we are truly grateful for all they did for both Mum and us, making everything more bearable and genuinely caring for her physically and emotionally. She was much loved by the carers and residents and she was happy there as evidenced by her broad and near-constant smile. I would like to echo the sentiments about Mum's end as we sat with Mum until the end. Can't recommend the care home enough from the carers, kitchen staff, maintenance team and management, they could not have done more.
There are times in your life when the kindness, compassion and support of people cannot be underestimated. The last few days are an outstanding example of this as my mother became seriously ill and died. Every staff member was exemplary, not only in their care of Mum but also of us, ensuring we had everything we needed from food and drink, time, information and access to medical professionals as required. We were very touched by the genuine affection there was for Mum, how staff came to see her as they finished their shift and their respect and gentleness towards both her and us. It confirmed everything we had experienced over 4.5 years - you should be very proud of yourselves. Thank you for everything, you made a truly difficult time bearable and maintained Mum's dignity to the end.
The quality of the care, the facilities and staff was beyond outstanding. Our mother was the happiest she has been in quite a while during her respite stay. The staff are exemplary, the room was beautiful and so clean. Entertainment was great. Empathy, respect and true care were clearly driving forces. Wonderful.
Mum came to The Beeches after a difficult stay in a care home in another part of the country, so she's had to deal with a lot of change, we were fearful with her dementia the move would be problematic but she has settled in within a few weeks and is happy, safe and secure. The staff are amazing, the food looks great (especially the dessert trolley) and the atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and homely. Mum is always clean and tidy, has made friends and we wouldn't want her anywhere else.
My mother has been in The Beeches since February 2016. I have always found the staff very helpful and approachable. I was impressed with the way the care home has been dealing with covid and they were keeping me informed accordingly. I am generally pleased with her care, although I do sometimes think her room and ensuite could do with a deeper clean than it gets, but overall, I am happy with her care.
I was with my mother when she suddenly deteriorated. It was expected but very traumatic. The staff were amazing, prompt, efficient, attentive and supportive to both Mum and myself and also, subsequently my family, as they arrived. I feel they went above and beyond to make this time as easy as possible. My heartfelt thanks to you all - you are a great team and are fabulous people. I will never forget your kindness and support.
It's difficult to put into words how pleased we have been with the level of care Mum has received at The Beeches. She has been so well cared for in all regards. As a proud, independent lady she has been treated with respect at all times and treated very much as an individual. We would totally recommend The Beeches and the angels that work there.
Despite being a difficult time during the pandemic, the care that my Mum has received has always been of an excellent standard. All the staff genuinely care and are professional and seem to do their very best at all times. Thank you.
My mother moved into the home in March 2021 and has had excellent care throughout her stay. The staff are wonderfully attentive to mum's needs and demonstrate genuine affection which not only benefits mum but also gives us reassurance that she's in good hands. When mum has needed medical attention, the staff have quickly contacted the necessary outside services who have responded with appropriate treatment. The last two years have put a lot of additional pressure on the staff but they have taken all the necessary measures to ensure the patients have been protected from the virus while maintaining cheerful communication with the family. Thank you for all you have done and are doing.
The staff at The Beeches really put the care into care home. Their level of attention and genuine concern for the residents is a credit to them in what must be, at times, a very stressful job. I can't thank them enough for the care they have given Mum since she has been there. They seem to love her and I know she loves them. Thank you
