View Full Details of Bishop Herbert HouseI request this care home every time I put my brother into respite as I know he is happy here, the staff are brilliant and make everyone feel welcome. It is very clean and tidy and very central to lots of amenities for the residents.
My son is at Bishop Herbert House and I cannot thank the staff enough for the positive change in him. He used to stay in his room, I'd visit once or twice a week for a couple hours. Now he comes out of his room, interacts with other residents, happily approaches staff for what he might be wanting. I take him out to the supermarket, fast food takeaways and for drives in the car, all of this in the past few months. Today, he had a trip to the cinema with a carer. Fantastic. I'm so impressed with the feel of the home, it's truly like going into a home, full of care and warmth, yet the professionalism is also present. All the staff are approachable and listen with care and understanding and any concerns are dealt with straight away and I always feel welcome and time given. I would definitely not want my son anywhere else. Thank you to all the marvellous staff at Bishop Herbert.
The kitchen deserves a level 5 highest grade as the meals along with the assigned chefs are excellent. All the staff are excellent.
After a terrible respite period last year, I was reading the reviews about Bishop Herbert House with some skepticism. I would like to put on record that this is a fantastic place and all the details of the reviews that I read were factual and accurate.
My first time back in over five years, and I was very anxious It went really well though. A very positive stay and I made some new friends too.
This was my husband's first respite stay. Both he and I were nervous, but the manager and staff could not have done more to make us well. I needed to visit my sister, so my daughter and granddaughter visited him on two occasions during that week. The staff had all been trained to help them understand his specific illness and needs. His room was clean and tidy, and ensuite facilities enabled him to keep his dignity. The food was delicious, and I will certainly ask if he can stay again when I need my next respite.
This is the second time I have now been to Bishop Herbert House Care Home. The staff are very lovely, they are very caring and they will do anything for you and they care about their residents. The care home is very clean and the management team are excellent. The food is great. I look forward to returning back to Bishop Herbert House. I recommend the care home all the way.
I recently visited my niece at Bishop Herbert House and was impressed by how welcoming and homely the place is. All the staff I met were willingly helpful and more than happy to show me around. Nothing was too much trouble. I was even offered a coffee! The manager was excellent and took the time to explain about the activities and care my niece was receiving, and my niece seems relaxed and happy there, which is so reassuring.
Everyone always acted professionally at all times. Couldn't fault the care I received. I have already recommended to my sister for respite care.
The home is fantastic they have taken such good care of my brother over the years. He is not always the easiest with his limited speech and mobility issues. But they have always been there for him and adapted his care to ensure he remained as happy and mobile as possible. He was in hospital recently and has just come back to the home in hospital he would not eat much and got chest infection as he was in bed all the time. Now he is back he is happy and eating again and I am sure he will get back to his normal self. Having a kitchen on-site where the food is freshly prepared and the residents are encouraged to all eat together is a really important asset. I would also like to thank the staff who are fantastic.
My husband has just had a week of respite care at Bishop Herbert House. This is the first time we have had the opportunity of respite care, so whilst initially anxious we were so pleased to end the week feeling so positive. From my point of view as my husband's carer, the staff were approachable and polite from the first phone call. All worries were listened to and time taken to give reassurance. He settled in and really felt cared for. We spoke each day and he had lots of positive stories to tell about the staff on each shift. He loved the food and felt equally well cared for and had space to rest. He is looking forward to being able to stay again in the near future!
From the moment my very nervous wife wheeled through the door, the staff were professional, smiley, chatty and put her at ease straight away. The manager couldn’t do enough to make sure her care was on par with what she was used to from me 24/7. My wife said the food was delicious and filling and wished I could cook as well. Because of COVID, I didn’t see her room, but everywhere else was clean, tidy and smelled fresh and airy. The day room we used as a visitors room was shielded, clutter-free and we had a lovely view of the outside courtyard and all in all a very pleasant experience for both visitors and clients. The small capacity worked well for my wife and she commented she would be happy going back there for her next respite, which is high praise indeed!
Seemed a very friendly and caring place. My partner was very well looked after and enjoyed her 2 week stay.
After a year with no break, I desperately needed respite care for my 1/2 paralysed stroke victim husband. He receives a Covid test and was admitted after the negative result. He was there for two weeks. We felt completely safe. We were able to meet outside on the quiet street to go for a ramble or visit a shop or cafe nearby. The staff are extremely nice and competent. They are a pleasure to be with. They responded usually immediately after being called. The food was very good and the dining room attractive. Everything was very clean and looked after. The en suite bathroom was very nice as well. We look forward to his staying there the next time. It is so nice to be in Norwich proper where everything is so convenient. We thank them so very much for providing such a good and secure experience.
Our son has improved immensely since being in Bishop Herbert House, Norwich. The care he has received has made him more confident and very relaxed and happy.
Lovely staff, they definitely went the extra mile to help us celebrate my sister's birthday with a very nice socially distanced afternoon tea. The food was really good. I feel my sister has a much greater quality of life since she has been at Bishop Herbert House.
Since my daughter has been in Bishop Herbert House she has been very happy and extremely well cared for. The staff and manager are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. It really is a happy family atmosphere there. The food is exceptionally good. The chef and staff go out of their way to ensure she has lots of healthy and tasty food. I cannot fault Bishop Herbert House. They go the extra mile to ensure their residents are safe and very well cared for.
This is my first time in respite and it could not have been better. The staff here have been absolutely brilliant. Not one cause to complain. I worked in care myself and our home received a Charter Mark (an award granted to institutions for exceptional public service). If that award is still granted, this is the place for it. Many thanks to all the staff. I will be back.
Bishop Herbert House is one of the best (rather is) the best care home in Norwich - staff and chefs are the best in Norwich. All staff are wonderful and friendly and no need is too great. They are pleased to give the best care. I love all the staff and chefs that are 120%.
I was made to feel very comfortable. The staff were welcoming, cheerful and well managed. If they were busy and it was the end of their shift, they happily stayed behind to finish the job. The food was well prepared and presented. It was my first respite break and I was feeling anxious about going. But my fears were soon allayed.
