View Full Details of Carleton House Care HomeMum has been cared for at Carleton House Care Home for around 7 years. We feel she is well looked after by friendly and approachable staff. The house provides a warm and welcoming environment for residents and their visitors. Thank you!
The home is lovely and decorated to give the place a homely feel. The staff are absolutely amazing and very helpful. I really appreciate what they do for my dad. The food is absolutely amazing and always home-cooked.
I was a senior GP covering a particular area so have worked with most of the care homes in the area. All our staff loved Carleton House more than any other. Our nursing team used to say they had booked their places there! When my mum needed care Carleton House was the obvious choice. The manager has been fantastic and visited Mum in the hospital to assess her and together with her team have made Mum feel loved and cared for. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel they have got to know her as an individual and personalised her care. The whole team from managers, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff and laundry staff just go above and beyond. I know from visiting dozens of care homes in my job that grander-looking homes do not mean better care. It's the kindness of the staff that makes this place perfect.
Carleton House is a very welcoming home set in beautiful surroundings. My mother has been a resident in Carleton House since July 2021. The staff provide excellent personal and social care. They are dedicated, caring and supportive of both my mother and our family. The care team keeps us updated about all aspects of her care. My mother always speaks highly about the quality of the food and the care she receives. As a family we are extremely happy with all aspects of her care and the activities provided by the staff at Carleton House. Thank you all so much.
A lovely family run home, it was very hard for me to put my mum into a care home, but within a few days I was able to sleep again at night. Everyone at Carleton House is friendly, supporting not only your loved one, but the family as well. The home is like one large family, the food is amazing, always smells so good when I visit mum, and always very good quality. Always plenty of activities within the home, and lovely gardens to sit in, in the summer. Decoration and cleanliness within the home is of a very high standard, I would recommend Carleton House to anyone looking to get help with their loved one.
My parents moved to Carleton House in July 2023 when my dad was no longer able to look after my mum after living in their house for 65 years. They share a joint room in the home. The transition was difficult for them but the personal care and attention shown by the management and caring staff have been fantastic in helping them to settle. As the home is small the carers are able to bond with the residents which gives the home a family feel and a personal touch. There are lots of entertainments provided that the residents can join in with if they wish to help stimulate and pass the time. We have attended the summer BBQ, fireworks display and Christmas pantomime at the home which have been brilliantly organised. I would like to thank all the staff for the care and attention they provide for my parents and wish them all the best for the future.
My mother has been a resident at Carleton House since June 2023. She has been very well cared for and her diverse needs are invariably accommodated, carers have been kind and supportive to her and she loves the food. All the staff chat with her and recently she has told me ‘she feels happy’. There is nothing more one can wish for when making this difficult decision that someone needs more care. There is always a warm welcome for whoever visits. Thank you.
My mum is and has been very well looked after. The food offered looks excellent with a good choice. Facilities cover the many needs; dining, communal, patio etc. The carers are very attentive and friendly. The other staff are equally friendly. Mum has stated many times how happy she is. We appreciate the good care she gets.
I can't speak highly enough of Carleton House Care Home and its dedicated and caring team. My dear aunt moved there in November 2021. She was living with dementia and totally unable to care for herself. Finding such a caring, personalised home for her gave me such peace of mind. From being very withdrawn and resistant to care, I saw my lovely aunt truly blossom in their care. She loved chatting with the carers and staff and could again interact with people with confidence and happiness. She thrived under their patience and good humour too. She was always clean and dignified and given time, including quiet time when needed. They simply took time to talk to her and go the extra mile in remembering all her little ways. To see her face light up was so moving. I visited her weekly and treasure that time during her final months. When my dear aunt reached the end of her life, the care she received from the staff was personal, gentle and exemplary. Thank you all so much.
My father was a resident in Carleton House Care Home from October 2021 until April 2023 and from the very first pre-assessment visit to his end-of-life care, I could not thank everyone enough for the care and support they gave him and our family on our visits during this time. It helped all of us to know that whatever situation arose at any time, day or night, there was always someone there that could help. All the staff were friendly and helpful and, when required, contacted us with updates during his stay. It was the most difficult decision to have to place him into care but, thanks to all at Carleton House, the correct one. Thank you all once again.
The staff, from care to kitchen and cleaning staff, are happy to talk when you go in and care staff go the extra mile to keep residents happy and well looked after. The activity coordinator really works hard to do things with residents. I myself worked in social care for thirty years until I retired with ill health and know what is expected of staff and they really do live up to a high standard all the time. I am really very happy.
Mum went into Carleton House Care Home permanently in March of this year. She was very unsettled at first and was angry and upset at times and could be a challenge, but the staff were always kind and patient with her. She is strong-willed and it has taken some time but she now thinks of it as home. She said today when I went to see her how she liked being there and how nice the staff are to her. To most of us, having our loved ones content is the most important thing as it is the hardest thing I have ever done, trusting someone else to look after my much-loved mum. Thank you to all the staff at Carleton House.
I cannot praise or thank the staff enough at Carleton House. Our mum moved into the home on 13th November 2020 having had a severe stroke at the end of July 2020. From day one Mum was made to feel welcome and at home. Everyone at the home has made sure that Mum is well cared for, the food is excellent, everyone is happy, and Mum has improved no end. They make her feel as if she is part of a big family, where everyone cares about everyone, and now calls it home. All we want is for Mum to be happy, we were concerned when Mum made the decision to go into a care home, but our concerns were soon put aside. It does not matter when we call the home, the phone is always answered by someone who is cheerful and polite. They cannot do enough for Mum or us. We would, and have, recommended the home to others, in fact, if there were 2 spare beds my brother and I would move in tomorrow! Well done and thank you to all at Carleton House, keep up the brilliant work you do, we are so grateful. Thank you all.
Carleton House provided truly wonderful care for my grandmother and she absolutely loved her time in the home. The atmosphere was always so lovely and there is a really warm, community feel amongst all of the residents. The management team have made such a fantastic effort to make the residents feel safe and well looked after by the carers. Nothing is too much for the management team and they go above and beyond their duty to make sure the residents and carers enjoy every single day! I always remember Christmas being a really special time in particular, with the decorations, music, wonderful food and opening arms to guests of the residents. The grounds are also beautiful with lots of open space and lovely views!
My wife, who is awaiting knee replacement surgery, is living at Carlton House because I can not look after her due to my two recent cancer operations. My wife and I together with my daughter, know that she is being well looked after. Before the "Coronavirus" I was allowed to join her in the Dining Room several times and had a meal with her which I enjoyed. We did have a small problem some months ago but after a chat with the Manager, it was resolved immediately. We are all very happy with the way my wife is cared for and have complete confidence in all of the staff.
My mother has been a resident in Carleton House since March 2017, following hospitalisation of her husband, who died later in the same year. She has Alzheimer's dementia which has gradually worsened to the point that she is now bed-bound and receives palliative care. I live in France and can only visit occasionally, and not at all since the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic. I telephone on a near-weekly basis and am always received with friendliness, courtesy and full information as to my mothers' state of health and ongoing care. During previous actual visits, I have always been impressed by the professionalism, courtesy and friendliness of all staff. I commend them all on the care and attention they give to my mother on a daily basis. I cannot praise them highly enough, most especially for their selfless care of residents during this awful pandemic.
My dad has been at Carlton House since March 2020. I have been very happy with the care provided, he has settled in and now thinks of Carlton House as his home. The staff are kind and sympathetic to his needs.
Our dad was a resident at Carleton House for nearly two years and we were very pleased with the care and medical treatment he received from the management and staff during this time. The home was always clean, well presented, friendly and had a real homely atmosphere. We would not hesitate in recommending Carleton House.
Due to the current circumstances, we have been unable to see Mum since March 2020. She is completely bedridden (Mum has been under palliative care since November 2019). On all occasions when visiting, there has been a warm, welcoming greeting from staff and I have been able to see Mum either in her room (or in the lounge/conservatory prior to being bedridden). Because of Mum's advance state of dementia, the care staff are very friendly and easy to talk to and give me all the information I ask for on her situation, care, medication and demeanour. Compared to other care homes I have visited recently the staff are very caring and look after Mum in all respects. I would thoroughly recommend Carleton House as a care home.
In this strange new world we now live in, I feel Carleton House has dealt with the rules and regulations well. Being able to see our relatives is most important to them and us. Staff always cheerful and helpful.
