View Full Details of Chiswick HouseHaving spent 9 weeks in hospital, my husband needed to convalesce at home. Due to my foot being in plaster for 6 weeks following an operation I was not able to care for him, so the family decided to place him in Chiswick House for respite care. He spent the last 2 months in there and we all found it to be extremely beneficial and supportive. The staff are very caring and happy to go 'the extra mile'. His room was delightful with a very pleasant view. New friendships were forged and he has made a steady gain in mobility and wellbeing having joined in exercise classes and general discussion groups. Everyone in our family especially my husband is extremely grateful for the kindness, encouragement and care he received while there.
My father took up residence at Chiswick House at the end of December 2023. He had some falls in the early months requiring hospital care which was dealt with well by the home even though the ambulance took over three hours to respond. He feels at home in Chiswick House but considers there could be improvements in residents washing facilities.
My mum is very happy at Chiswick House. The rooms are very clean and the food good. There are a lot of great activities which my mum really enjoys. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they are extremely caring. When I visit, I always feel welcomed as the staff are so friendly.
My excellent experience began when I first met the manager. This lady is a credit to her position, and represents everything about the home, as I later discovered. The fact that my resident friend feels comfortable with the very supportive staff is clear every time I visit.
Staff are always very ready to answer queries and receive comments. The staff are very caring and patient, and my father rarely has a complaint, saying he feels content and safe. Interesting activities and visits are arranged, and there is always some activity on offer. The food is excellent, and the medical care is attentive.
As a family, we are so pleased our mother is living in such a caring environment. Mum is, most importantly, very happy and always talks about the kindness of staff. When visiting, I always feel welcomed as if visiting a friend's home.
This is a beautiful home run by dedicated and caring staff. The rooms are pleasant and the gardens impressive. My mum-in-law chose to come to live here and she has thrived and improved in health since moving in. My husband and I are happy that his mum is well looked after, she has everything she needs and is happy and relaxed. When we visit, we are treated with kindness, respect and hospitality and we enjoy our time there.
The staff were very pleasant and always willing to help. The rooms were kept perfectly clean every day. The food was excellent. Really enjoyed staying at Chiswick House and look forward to staying again.
From the first visit, we knew that my father would be happy having respite care here. He is an active and sociable 90-year-old who loved every minute of his three and half week stay. While there, he had a minor health issue which was referred to a GP as a temporary patient and he was treated quickly and appropriately. This enabled our family to know that we could all feel confident and relaxed and all enjoy our holiday. He can't wait to have a return holiday!
Mum lived very successfully, happily and contentedly at Chiswick House Care Home for eight years until her end of life in February 2023. The end-of-life care that Mum received from the manager, deputy manager, all care staff and the dedicated end-of-life staff member was outstanding and exceptional. Mum was cared for so well right up to the end, with family members given time, food, drink, listening ears, compassion and inclusivity, enabling us to spend time with Mum and be with her every minute until she died. On behalf of my whole family, we will always be grateful to the wonderful team at Chiswick House for making Chiswick Mum's home, for welcoming us all (and our dogs) throughout the eight years, for giving Mum personal care throughout her life and end days. You could not have done any more and we all thank you very, very much.
I could not be happier with the care provided for my dad. The manager is excellent and supported by a wonderful team. They go over and above constantly. I spent a lot of time at the home and watched the way they were with other residents as well. They are always attentive and incredibly patient. Nothing is too much trouble. There is a huge range of activities and visitors of interest. They all took the trouble to get to know Dad and know what he liked and wanted, when he needed gentle encouragement, or needed to be left alone. I could not recommend this home more highly. I knew it the second I walked through the door. The whole feeling is light, airy and above all friendly. I felt really protective and responsible for doing the right thing by my lovely dad and sending him to Chiswick was absolutely the right thing. This will give me peace forever and that is priceless.
My mum moved into Chiswick House as her residential home for the previous seven years closed. The move for an 87 year old proved very stressful and initially did affect her well-being. Within weeks of her move to Chiswick, she flourished. Eating better, engaging with people, health improvements and perhaps most important - a sparkle in her eyes. The manager at Chiswick House could not have been more helpful. The manager and her staff team work tirelessly to ensure every resident lives their best life. My husband and I both commented only a couple of weeks ago that Mum was the best we had seen her in recent years. Well done and thank you Chiswick!
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Chiswick House Care Home for over six years and throughout this time she has had a very good experience. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the facilities are excellent and the care staff are always attentive and friendly. Residents are treated as individuals and their own preferences and needs are always taken careful note of. Chiswick House has a family atmosphere and my mother-in-law could not have had a better experience of care. I would certainly recommend the home to friends.
I’m very pleased with the care my mother receives at Chiswick House Care Home. The manager and deputy work so hard to care for all residents and other staff. It’s not been an easy last two years with all the Covid restrictions and difficulties caused by this horrible virus. My mother is warm and safe, she is allowed visitors according to whatever ‘rules’ are in place. She is also allowed to take walks outside, weather permitting, in her wheelchair to gain fresh air and see what is going on in the area. All food is baked onsite and is delicious, in the past when I was able to stay for a meal it was always so tasty. Mum has a choice of what she likes to eat. The staff are so patient, kind and caring, I can’t think of a better place for Mum to live.
Chiswick House Care Home have been looking after my gran for over seven years and have always been highly professional. The food is excellent and the manager and deputy work brilliantly together. They have been exceptional with getting contact with her whenever we call and everyone is so friendly and accomodating.
Chiswick House Care Home is warm and safe. The staff work really hard and are always on hand to help when we call to speak to Gran. They are well trained and always cater to her needs. Gran's needs are always met and when we suggest new things for her to eat they always try to help, she doesn't eat alot but when she does they always take it on board. It's great that she is alot out and to have visitors as this is so good for her mental health and really gives her something to focus on. Keep up the good work.
My gran is a resident at Chiswick House Care Home. I phone the home to speak to her regularly and they are always so helpful and caring. Gran feels safe and the staff work very hard to preserve her dignity whilst ensuring she is well looked after. Gran always mentions how nice the food is and how the staff cater for all of her requests. The manager and deputy manager are always incredibly helpful. Gran is allowed visitors and is also allowed out of the house, this has meant that Gran has been able to spend quality time with her great-grandchildren who she loves. This has helped so much in promoting Gran's mental health. Thank you Chiswick House for everything you do for my gran.
My mother has been a resident at Chiswick House Care Home for seven years and is being cared for extremely well. The manager, deputy manager and all the staff are very caring and patient. They work very hard to ensure Mum’s needs are met. Mum is allowed visitors and trips out to promote her mental health and wellbeing. The food is well prepared and Mum's needs and requests are always catered for. There is entertainment in the afternoons if any resident chooses to join in. Mum is happy amongst all the carers who she has got to know and trust.
Tell the owners and managers of Chiswick House to fix the TV in the resident's rooms. This is an important part of the resident’s independence; to watch what they like in their own private place. The change over from analogue to digital TV required new, higher quality aerials. Old, badly maintained installations often need re-wiring. The symptoms are frozen pictures or channel signal strength too weak to tune. Residents rarely complain. Signals that are ‘on the borderline' often deteriorate in extreme weather. The management of Chiswick House should know that if their Maintenance Manager can’t fix the problem when the families of the residence complain, a local Aerial Service company will know exactly what is required. Especially as this has been unsolved for many years! It took them (Chiswick House) 15 months to supply adequate WiFi during the lockdown. How long will it take them to provide adequate TV service in the bedrooms!? If the head office management doesn’t know how to do this employ a local company who do know how to do this! Our Mum pays enough to deserve better service from Chiswick House.
Friendly and welcoming staff and management. The adaptation and resourcefulness during the pandemic have been really outstanding. Excellent communications and genuinely caring service provision, they do a difficult and demanding job well, cheerfully and with humanity.
