Mum has now been living in Corton House for 6 months. She has settled in well, is happy and feels safer than when living at home on her own. The staff are very friendly and as well as providing the necessary care are happy to help out with anything else she needs or would like assistance with. She enjoys participating in the group activities, but also being able to relax quietly in her own room when she wishes. As her family, it's reassuring for us to know she now has 24 hour care in the lovely environment of Corton House.
Since living alone became too difficult for our Mum, Corton House has been the perfect place for her to move to. We are greeted with smiling faces on every visit and always feel welcome. The whole team is kind, respectful and sensitive to individual needs. Nothing is too much trouble. Each week, there is a varied, fantastic programme of activities, and it feels like a safe and happy environment, with warmth and care from the top filtering down. Corton House is a light, comfortable, airy, spacious building with a lovely garden. There is a positive and fun atmosphere here, yet it is also very professional, with the latest technology for the resident's safety and comfort. We can not recommend Corton House more highly.
We feel really lucky that our mum lives at Corton House. She has dementia and is treated with the utmost respect and friendliness by everyone. She enjoys the activities although she may not remember doing them later and the variety and frequency of the activities is outstanding. Mum is reminded what is happening and gets involved as a result. There are several areas where visitors and residents can sit and talk quite cosily, including a drinks machine for cappuccinos and chocolate in an area off the dining room overlooking a garden. The main garden is a lovely asset to the house and mum really enjoyed her walks around it this summer whenever weather allowed. There are also several areas in the garden where residents and guests can sit comfortably. The menus are varied every week and mum seems to enjoy going into breakfast, lunch and supper. She has periods of confusion but she is helped in a positive way. It is a safe and caring environment for her and seems to suit her very well.
My uncle settled very well into life at Corton House. He involved himself in his chosen activities. He particularly enjoyed the services delivered by the chaplain at the care home. My uncle and I felt that he was listened to and the staff always had time for a chat, which he really appreciated. The staff treat residents with dignity and great care. Well done all!
Corton House provided my father with the most professional and considerate care in his last few months. The staff was always attentive, friendly, and helpful. We could rest assured that he was in good hands.
The care I was given at Corton House was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My stay there was very pleasant.
My Mum was admitted to Corton House after an awful hospital experience, which left her confused, dehydrated, and frail. From our first encounter, all the staff have been very professional and have helped us to get my Mum better. I felt that my Mum was the only resident in the home, as they all knew her, spent time with her, and treated her like one of their own family. The food is freshly prepared and nutritional, and it's lovely to see her put the weight on. My only regret is that because she was so unwell she only experienced the wonderful activity programme in her 3rd week, every day there is something going on, and she loved it! I can't express my gratitude enough to the staff and management of Corton House, I felt my Mum was safe and well looked after whilst she was in their care, It was a good end to an awful experience, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this little gem.
I have had the pleasure of volunteering for 2 days per year over the last 4 years, at Corton House. I can confidently say that the residents are looked after to a very high level, proved by the positive comments and happy atmosphere amongst those benefitting from this lovely home. The staff are very friendly and hugely caring towards the residents, who have good facilities and great activities organised for them daily. The food produced in the kitchen is superb, everything is cooked professionally from scratch with fresh ingredients, and in a very clean and efficiently run environment. As a volunteer, I have only ever felt extremely welcome, by staff and residents alike. I very much look forward to my next visit.
My wife and I would like to thank all the staff for the care and kindness that you have shown to my Father over the last 6 and a half years that he has been a resident. Especially in the last few months of his life when he was treated with dignity and respect by all members of staff.
This is a lovely care home that provides excellent care for all the residents. The carers are very good at providing detailed care for all the residents, both taking the time to get to know each one and learning how to care for each individual based on their needs and medical conditions. This care home provides one if not two activities every day for the residents. This makes them happier and keeps them physically and mentally active. The activities are aimed at everyone no matter their capabilities. They vary from musical performances to games and chair yoga / keep fit. They have regular services and chaplain visits if they want as well which is very important for the religious residents. The care home has been recently refurbished making it more aesthetically pleasing, more accessible, and are including an area for visitors to get hot drinks to sit with their families. The management team regularly talks to a group of residents to get feedback and put in place any suggestions they have.
Wonderful. I have watched my 97-year-old mother thrive and become happy and well. Mum has only been at Corton House for approximately five weeks, it is now her home.
Corton House provided support for me just when I needed it most. The staff were professional and friendly in their various roles in equal measure making me feel relaxed during my stay. If the occasion arose I would recommend Corton House to anyone needing respite care.
Our wonderful Dad could not have been at a more caring and loving place, a place he called home. We witnessed first-hand the love, care and professionalism from all staff to Dad, from the manager to the caring staff, to the canteen staff. This love and care was also towards us at the end of his life. So much so we have booked our rooms for later life! We can never put into words our gratitude to all the wonderful staff. Thank you.
I moved my mother (aged 102) from a care home in Shropshire to Corton House. The new care home has been very welcoming and everything is really well organised. They redecorated Mum's room before she arrived and she is delighted with it. She is very pleased with the food and the kindness of the carers.
My friend is very happy and has suggested anyone wanting care for elderly relatives need look no further.
The service given is very good in challenging times, particularly when there is a shortage of labour in this area. Weekend staffing does seem to be an issue and not overly sure on the new alarm (silent)? Takes some getting used to and may be open to scrutiny.
Could not have wished for more and would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Corton House as a first-class care facility. In my case, a very happy ten weeks.
Although Mum was only a resident for 5 months, she was very happy living at Corton House. We will always be grateful knowing the last few months were spent being cared for and loved by such excellent staff.
The staff at Corton House is so kind and caring! I have seen them working first-hand with my dad and they are just so wonderful, encouraging and gentle with him, which is exactly what he needs. Because of this, he settled in very quickly. He enjoys the daily routine. Every time we visit we are greeted with a warm and welcoming smile and an update on how Dad has enjoyed the various activities. This then enables us to begin a conversation with him. The view of the beautifully maintained garden from Dad’s bedroom is a lovely little touch. Thank you so much for taking care of my dad!
Caring, helpful staff with nothing being too much trouble, they work hard to make residents comfortable, happy and relaxed. My aunt was very reluctant to leave her independent living at home but has now settled into the care provided by Corton House.
