Everyone is always very pleasant when we visit. In this modern day and age, I don't think the rooms are very satisfactory, and they are not en suite as the web site says they are. There is only a shower in the extension rooms, not the majority of the rooms.
Our Mother was a resident at Cromwell House for the last year of her life. She settled into life at Cromwell very well and appreciated the kindness and patience of the staff. She enjoyed the activities and learned carpet bow Mum loved to chat with other people and always found someone to talk to if she felt lonely. The staff were so helpful in meeting all her needs. Mum gradually deteriorated and the staff ensured she was always comfortable and pain-free. She died with great dignity and the staff were so attentive - they could not have had better care.
My Mother stayed at Cromwell House for one-week of respite care. She was very happy with every aspect of her stay. We would recommend this care home, in particular for the caring attitude of the staff and the beautiful atmosphere and lovely garden.
My Mother was a resident for 17 months and did not want to leave Cromwell House at the end of her life and go to a hospital or hospice. She was happy and felt secure and valued there. I visited at all hours, in the day and at occasions at night without notice, the welcome was warm and my Mother was settled and truly engaged with the activities and the informal service. My Mother was of sound mind and would certainly have complained if anything was a miss! The expertise and compassion shown, particularly by the night carers, at the end of her life were so important to us. She was treated with respect, even after death.
Cromwell House is a friendly, caring home with a lot of dedicated staff. Residents feel part of a family and are able to participate in lots of activities if they wish. They appreciate the Christian services of worship.
After sustaining a fall and fracturing her hip my 86 year old stepmum was transferred from hospital to Cromwell House. The care and support she received was fantastic. All the staff I met were friendly and kind and seemed genuinely interested in the residents. Nothing was too much trouble. Management were awesome. Thank you so much.
I am happy and well settled in the home and it is a friendly and happy place to be.
My mother stayed at Cromwell House for six weeks for recovery from surgery. She was extremely well looked after. Neither she, nor the family, have any complaints – indeed the opposite. The staff were very kind and patient. The few health problems which arose during her stay were dealt with very quickly. She reports the food was delicious. The car park, community space and garden made visiting easy.
Staff are always so happy and friendly. Always making me feel welcome and at home when visiting. I couldn't think of a better team I would want caring for my grandmother. Her room is always clean and tidy, she always has fluids by her side in case she gets thirsty and my grandad is always looked after when he visits to care for her too. For this I am so grateful of everything the Cromwell House team do.
My mother is very happy living at Cromwell House and on Saturday, September 23rd she had a medical issue and an ambulance was called. The response and attitude of the care workers was excellent, very professional and caring.
My brother has been very well cared for. Various medical issues have been dealt with well. There are lots of activities and my brother's memory has improved. At home he had little social interaction, but now he takes part in activities and outings. Lovely to know he is safe and cared for. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Cromwell House. My mother and my mother-in-law both receive wonderful care from the lovely, friendly care team and all the other staff members. My mother unfortunately is reliant solely on carers as she cannot manage independently and is virtually bed and chair bound, but the staff make sure she is repositioned regularly and all her care needs are met with a happy smiling face! There are plenty of activities arranged during the week, which my mother-in-law enjoys immensely! Both mums love to have their hair and pamper sessions that are provided regularly! Meals are always varied and both mums enjoy what they receive! On behalf of our families, we thank you all!
Mum has now happily been a resident at Cromwell House for four years and commented many times on how lovely the staff are and how nice it is to live in such a friendly and comfortable place, especially overlooking the beautiful garden! She frequently enjoys the many lively social activities in the lounge, as well as personal attention from the visiting hairdresser and manicurist. The care home has a warm and cosy atmosphere and all staff are particularly welcoming to visitors. The most essential aspect is naturally the excellent patience, friendliness and understanding shown to Mum by Cromwell House staff, especially in relation to dementia moments. They realise how important a listening ear and a smile are! It’s a pleasure to recommend Cromwell House Care Home.
If I could give Cromwell House ten stars I would! My nanny lived here years ago and now my mum is there. Everything you could wish for when you think about a care home is here. The home itself is bright, light, spotlessly clean and is a lovely calm but fun environment. My mum's room is lovely and cleaned twice a week. My mum herself always looks well dressed, clean and tidy. The food is amazing. It is fresh, balanced, interesting and presented well. I always feel welcome when I call in, I can visit any time at all with no notice. There is always a member of staff to see with any questions. Now for the staff. I can't say enough about how absolutely amazing they all are, they treat my mum like she is part of a big family and show her great respect, always smiling and making her laugh. Kindness runs through their bones. I feel completely and utterly confident and comforted with the care they give my mum. If you're looking for a home for a loved one, please visit Cromwell House.
Cromwell House has a very homely, family atmosphere where the staff go out of their way to assist residents and consider their personal preferences. There is a wide selection of activities for the residents to join in when they wish to. The garden and outdoor space give special delight to my mother.
My sister seems generally happy in your establishment and enjoys a lot of the activities and particularly the services. Any concerns come from national rather than local issues i.e. agency staff not performing well or the NHS not providing sufficient and timely support.
Cromwell House Care Home provides a friendly, safe environment together with high standards of care. The staff have triumphed in their struggle with the constraints of Covid.
I think some of the agency carers we have are very poor.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. I came for respite care and it was the ideal place to stay. Accommodation is excellent, food is good and plenty of things to do. They have a lovely secluded garden to sit in. I made good friends with some of the residents, even though spending only ten days here. You can stay in your room if you like, your needs and wants are catered for. They have a great ethos there.
I visited for the first time as a volunteer with my two children this week and we all had the best time. The staff were welcoming and all kind and smiling. The residents were engaged and happy, the atmosphere was relaxed with lots going on. Our visit was outside and the grounds are lovely! My son, in particular, didn’t want to leave and we are looking forward to going back next week! So lovely to be able to visit care homes again and we feel lucky to have found this little gem!
