View Full Details of Florence HouseOutstanding care and compassion shown to my friend and all the other residents during a very difficult time. Good activities offered to combat lockdown rules. Excellent, caring staff and well-organised manager, who was always available for a chat.
During this difficult time, the staff have kept all the resident entertained and safe. The activities have been plentiful. The staff are extremely helpful and keeping us all comforted. They have kept our families up to date and had lots of phone calls.
I have been here for 3 years and 2 months. I like my bedroom and another reason for being here is medication. My treatment by staff has been satisfactory. Old people's homes probably would not suit me, in case of fire I have been told staff would come to me that is what they are there for. Food varies in quality, Florence House is always short-staffed at the moment. Fees are high but there are a lot of staff to be paid and central heating costs a lot.
Overall satisfactory. Smoking situation frustrating. Overall, staff members very good.
My brother moved to Florence House, about three years ago, where he was welcomed into a spacious room where he was able to accommodate his library. The meals are a big hit with my brother and visitors are made welcome with available tea or coffee. The manager and staff have a genuine care and empathy with the residents and have recently had an addition of a spaniel who is a big hit with the residents.
