View Full Details of Barchester Hethersett HallMy mum has been a resident now at Hethersett Hall for nearly 3 years and since she has been there I have no worries about her care or wellbeing. She never has a bad word to say about the staff who look after her.
My resident feels safe, secure, loved and is no longer lonely. They enjoy the food and social side of dining with others. Music is used in a lot of activities, which is great for involving most residents in their own unique way. Overall, my resident/relative is thriving.
My mother has been in Barchester Hethersett Hall Care Home since October 2024 in the dementia, garden house residency. She loves it! She thinks the meals are like a five-star hotel. She loves the interaction of all the very caring and respectful staff, the energetic and entertaining entertainment staff. Maintenance is always helpful and assists with any jobs. The gardens are vast and beautiful, well-kept. So far I have been very impressed with the care provided by the manager and her caring team!
This is my first experience of using a care home for my mum, it was used for a three-week respite. The staff are wonderful. Each and every one of them were friendly, helpful and kind. Nothing was ever any trouble. They all seemed to know my mum intimately which showed they care.
The activities provided for those with dementia are excellent but there could be more of them. I believe the activities organisers could do with more support. Dementia care staff, again, are excellent but stretched too far. There are frequently no staff to be found in the sitting room and surrounding areas which I feel is a weak spot for safety.
My mother has stayed at Barchester Hethersett Hall many times for respite. The home is very welcoming, spotlessly clean, lovely choice of meals. Very friendly staff. Receptionist is excellent. I cannot fault the care my mum has received.
Absolutely lovely place in superb grounds. Everything is so tidy and clean and the decor is so welcoming and has been done so well, you wouldn't think you were in a retirement home. Staff are very friendly and offer you tea or coffee on your visit. Very impressive. A credit to the owners.
Lovely place to visit my aunt. When walking in, it had a hotel feel, which is great. Staff all so friendly and helpful. We also love the social media page and see what everyone has been up to. The special events are wonderful. Thanks.
The care given is exemplary - it's given with love and care and importantly, humour. My mum loves it when everyone can laugh. The activities are great, allowing her to participate as much as she can. I also really enjoy visiting as the staff are so friendly and supportive of my situation, it feels like a home, not a care home.
Mum has received excellent care since moving into Barchester Hethersett Hall. She is treated kindly and with dignity. The food is excellent as are the facilities. All staff are kind and considerate.
My relative suffers from Alzheimer's and is going to be a long-term resident of Barchester Hethersett Hall. She also has problems with her circulation which has meant that her legs have been bandaged and her movement further restricted. She is frail and what movement she has is compromised by her bandages and this has resulted in a number of falls. She recently suffered a further fall which required medical assistance. Given the circumstances, the ongoing need for bandaged legs and the enhanced hazard that these posed to her mobility and stability - I raised the question of what additional preventive and mitigative measures the Hall staff were planning to take. The staff provided a comprehensive summary of the issues and the remedies that were being taken. The broader strategic measures to address the root cause issues included moving her to a fully carpeted room and the provision of a crash mat. The room also had the advantage of being less 'isolated' and consequently subject to the more frequent passing of staff movements. I understand that it is not possible to remove all potential hazards and reduce the risk of falling to zero. But I am very satisfied with the solutions that have been provided and the speed of the staff's response. It is precisely this kind of response that I expected and which was a major reason for selecting Hethersett Hall in the first place.
Care is excellent, carers are fantastic, food is superb, very friendly atmosphere.
Dad has been at Hethersett Hall for the past four years in the dementia unit and it was the best decision we ever made. All the staff can't do enough for him; they treat him as though he is one of the family. We are always made to feel welcome and are involved in all aspects of Dad's care. The unit staff are always happy and cheerful. They have an amazing activities coordinator who strives to put on exciting and different activities.
Mum came to Hethersett Hall in September 2023 with dementia. She has blossomed since she's been here the staff are fantastic and treat her like family her dignity is well respected at all times. Her happiness and safety are my and my sister's main concern and at Hethersett Hall, she has this 10-fold.
My husband had Parkinson's disease and had been in hospital and then went straight from there to Hethersett Hall for respite. He became very poorly and then died. The care that he received from all the staff (where they went beyond duty!) was wonderful. They were so gentle and kind. I can't ever repay only in words how wonderful they all were. Thank you all again.
My father has been at Hethersett Hall since May 2022. Initially, his stay was for respite but has remained here. We couldn't ask for any more - caring staff, nothing is too much trouble. They have lots of activities, events and days out for the residents, which really helps them all feel at home. Well done to everyone, and thank you.
I am very satisfied with the care that my father has received at Hethersett Hall, in particular, the care he has received from all the members of staff. It is wonderful to know that he feels comfortable and safe. He loves his room with wonderful views and appreciates the space in both the building and outside. The atmosphere seems undeterred and calm, but there is always a friendly face around.
Mother has always been treated with care and consideration. Staff are very attentive and caring.
Hethersett Hall couldn’t have been more welcoming for a short stay to recuperate after surgery. All the staff were lovely, the surroundings beautiful (very good for birds because of the neighbouring hay meadow and woodland), and I very much enjoyed getting to know some of the residents. The excellent events programme ensured that there was always something to do and someone to meet. Very good company all-round in an environment where I felt safe and cared for whilst regaining my mobility. I’d recommend Hethersett Hall to anyone, especially if you would enjoy sitting on the covered terrace looking onto a rose garden and listening to Skylarks and Yellowhammer singing away in relatively unspoilt Norfolk countryside.
Staff are always very caring and friendly. Will really help if they can and they always go above and beyond when they can. Recently had my mother's 94th birthday, the staff really exceeded expectations by making a cake and decorating the room and really made my mother feel special.
