View Full Details of Kevlin HouseMy mum was a resident in Kevlin House for the past 4 and a half years and I have always been extremely impressed and happy with the level of care she received from a great team of carers. Not only did they provide a cheerful, warm atmosphere, they also arranged entertainment on a regular basis. Sadly, last week, my mum passed peacefully away, tucked up in her bed at Kevlin House. She was given so much TLC from the staff to ensure her final days and hours were as comfortable and pain-free as possible. For this, my family and I will be eternally grateful.
The care and attention to mum has been amazing. Mum moved here at the beginning of November from another care home and the transformation has been wonderful. Mum has Alzheimer's and the understanding of her condition is top notch!
Cannot rate this care home enough. Staff are fantastic, every help you need here was given. It all feels like a home from home. The residents are very happy. Great food and drinks whenever needed. Well done to all staff at Kevlin House.
My sister was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2015, and after a fall at her home in London stayed with us for several months before moving into Kevlin House 9 months ago. The staff, and the owner/manager in particular, have been amazing throughout, helping us to get her room as homely as possible, and taking careful note of her food preferences (she’s a veggie) so she has settled in very well. The staff are always friendly, kind and keen to help and I can’t imagine her being anywhere else now. We just got back from a local trip on a steam train, with a lovely pub lunch, a well organised trip (and not the first) which everyone enjoyed. This is such a difficult time for my sister as she realises her health is declining, but the staff handle her with great skill and sensitivity, it's a joy to watch! Finally, the location is close to a British Rail station and there’s a strong mobile signal so her family can keep in good direct contact. Thank you Kevlin House for looking after my sister so well.
Very friendly, warm atmosphere, relaxing conversation regarding my father.
My son, who is 63, is mildly schizophrenic and disabled and has been at this care home for two years. During this time he has enjoyed not only the proper care and attention he needed but also the patience and affection of everyone on the staff. He can be quite awkward at times but they continue to handle every situation in a manner which invokes my constant admiration and thankfulness. He enjoys all the activities they promote. Far more than I was able to provide.
I am very pleased with the care my mother receives. The staff are very caring and do all they can to make her stay there enjoyable. I would be nice if there could be more activities for those who cannot go out to day care centres and a bit more activity with the residents who are more able than others.
We have just left Kevlin House after a social evening these socials are invaluable. They help to store up good memories of our relatives as well as provide excellent entertainment for them. It is all too easy to see the illness instead of the person in theses situations but Kevlin House help in all aspects of this. The house and staff are excellent and we feel very lucky that mum was able to find a place there. The transformation since the new owners took place is amazing and the staff are so kind and caring, well done to you all.
My mum has been a resident at Kevlin House for nine months now. We have found the staff friendly, the care is good, a very relaxed atmosphere. Make you very welcome.
