View Full Details of Oakwoods Care HomeIt was not time for my mother (95) to enjoy the comfort and security of being cared for by professional people. Our search for the home we felt would be best suited for her was not, as it turned out, not extensive. We only looked at two before visiting The Maltings Care Home. It was quickly evident that as soon as we walked into the home, it felt welcoming and comfortable. We were shown around by a 'senior care' and the rooms that were available. Also, the community rooms looked attractive and comfortable, the manager also welcomed us and offered much assistance. He was knowledgeable and friendly. In fact, all staff have been polite and friendly. Mother's first two months have been the best thing for her and indeed indeed, us as we now feel she is now living the best place.
Very happy with mum's level of care at The Maltings.Good contact with management and their response to queries.
The staff go out of their way to help. Very friendly and caring.
My mother moved to The Maltings Care Home in August 2022. Sadly she passed away in November of the same year. However, The Maltings gave her the happiest times in the last few months of her life. The staff treated her with love, kindness, dignity and respect. I can't thank them enough.
My husband was in the home for a week's respite and found the staff to be very friendly and professional. The food was excellent with a good choice and the chef came around personally to ask him what he particularly liked. The home is well-maintained, clean, and welcoming. The manager listens to the residents and welcomes any feedback and where necessary takes appropriate action. He is happy to spend another week in respite in November. As his background was in nursing and he registered care homes in Surrey, prior to his retirement, he is well aware of care standards and what makes a good home. I would recommend the Maltings as a nice home for anyone thinking of needing respite or permanent residential care.
I was in for one week of respite care and I was very pleased with the care I received. The food was excellent. The staff's attitude towards clients was excellent. The home is well managed and all staff are pleasant and friendly. I would have liked more activities as not many provided.
Enjoyable stay, staff very friendly.
Staff are very friendly and understanding. The events organiser makes the visitors and residents feel welcome and happier. The jubilee and animal experiences seem to go down very well! My grandmother has had a couple of emergency medical issues and the staff reacted well and communication was excellent and much appreciated.
Always clean, and friendly staff.
The Jubilee garden party was enjoyed by residents and visitors alike and was well organized by the staff. Even my brother, who is reluctant to move out of his room, enjoyed it. The staff are always cheerful, even when under pressure from lack of staff and will answer any concerns one has about relatives.
The home is very friendly and welcoming. The staff are very good at looking after the resident and attending to their needs. The Jubilee afternoon tea and entertainment were excellent, with plenty of staff on hand to help and look after the residents, but were also attentive to family and guests. I am very pleased with the care my mum receives.
Now that the home has employed more care staff and is not using agency staff, the atmosphere in the home is much improved. The staff are very happy and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The activities are good, my mother is joining in more. The Jubilee celebration was excellent.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Mum has been very happy since moving into The Maltings and always says how lovely the staff are and the food. I have been thankful through all of Covid and lockdown that Mum has been so well cared for when I couldn't do anything. Mum loves especially when the animals have been brought in, she loves them all.
When I visit my friend, she always looks very comfortable. The food always sounds really nice and there is a varied menu. The home always looks spotless and has no unpleasant smells like a lot of care homes have. Saying that, it's most likely that this chore is quite difficult to do. The staff are always friendly and helpful too.
My aunt has been living at The Maltings for four years. The carers have managed her increasing physical disabilities and supported her health choices. Although always busy, they find time to chat with her as she retains a lively, active mind. When no longer to live alone, The Maltings was my aunt's choice of home. She constantly expresses her gratitude for the care she receives, the plentiful, tasty food and the sense of security she feels. For my part, it is constant relief to know she is safe and well cared for, with all her needs met.
Easy to book a window visit with our relative. Staff brought Grandad to the window as he's unable to do this himself. Staff friendly and good manners. The regional manager introduced herself, which is always a good start.
Very good. I will recommend The Maltings.
I have been to many care homes in my time and never have I smelt such a terrible odour of urine. I am disgusted at the poor level of care provided to your residents. General cleanliness and hygiene should be of utmost importance and the lack of care provided in this area could lead to health problems.
Been here for 2 months or more. Great Care Home. Rooms are well kept...cleaned every day. Food is good. Can have meals in your room or the dining room. Like the dining room as you meet the other residents Staff are very good..kind and well mannered and will do as you request. Got to know most of them now and makes my life even better. I have had bad falls where I used to live, now as you get a bell push in your room it makes me feel safer, even at night, when the staff are on. Nice grounds with a courtyard to enjoy the sunshine. An activities list produced every Monday so you can choose what you want to attend, regular residents meetings so you can discuss things with the managers. Am pleased that I was placed here as it is above my expectations.
