View Full Details of Melton House Care HomeAfter a visit to my uncle today I found the home so warming and friendly. The staff are amazing, so friendly and welcoming. My uncle looked so clean and cared for which was lovely to see, he seemed happy and was very talkative. The staff were decorating the Christmas trees and there was a singer singing Christmas songs, they had just finished lunch and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
After being isolated in another home which was totally unsuitable for him it has been a revelation to see the change in his demeanour. He is extremely happy with all the attention he receives from the staff. They involve him in all of the activities. The food is excellent and plenty of it. The home allow him to go out for walks on his own which was not allowed at the other one. All in all, he couldn't have been placed in such a happy environment. Well done to all the staff.
My mum spent her last few months at this home and we could not fault the care so it was an obvious choice when my dad needed to be cared for to have him cared for here. My dad has had the best care and has settled in better than we could have hoped. He joins in with activities and is very social now. I cannot recommend this home enough. There is a warmth and homely feel always.
Melton House is a wonderful home. The staff are extremely friendly and look after my mum really well. The ratio of staff to residents is very good. Mum is treated like a member of their family. Meals are excellent and varied. I would not hesitate in recommending this home to anyone who is looking for a first-class care home for their family members.
My husband has been a resident of Melton House for over two months. We have been very happy with the care provided. The staff are supportive, friendly and accommodating; nothing is too much trouble. Personal choices in activities and dietary preferences are respected, whilst rigorous in providing medication and nutrition. He is always clean, well-groomed, and dressed in his own clothing. The general atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, visitors are welcome at any time. We are able to go out for walks and to visit local cafes. The decor is a little tired but homely and spotlessly clean. There is a close liaison between the care home staff and the local GP surgery, with collaborative care evident. I feel that my husband is treated as an individual, and he has settled well into his new home.
The experience so far has been excellent. Mum moved into the home for emergency respite in December 2022 and has taken quite some time to settle. The staff (management and caring) have been excellent, very accommodating and patient. Levels of care balanced with the entertainment and activities are excellent, and communications with us as a family are friendly, open, and transparent. We feel welcome to visit Mum anytime and stay as long as we wish.
Myself and my family are very satisfied with the quality of care given to my mother. The staff are always friendly and cheerful towards the residents and the visitors that visit their loved ones. Everybody is treated with dignity and respect. Mum enjoyed a day out in August with the staff; they hired a minibus which belonged to another one of their homes and took some of the residents to the seaside for a few hours, they enjoyed fish and child as a treat and ice cream and a walk along the promenade and take photos.
This care home is a home in so many ways, they are Mum's and our extended family. Caring for all of Mum's needs and ours, grandchildren made so welcome playing games with residents. They recently had a summer tea party, bringing together residents, staff and families, a truly wonderful afternoon enjoyed by all, music, singing and dancing topped off by delicious food. Nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff at Melton House Care Home, everyone should be very proud of the home they provide for our families.
We are so pleased we made the right decision to place my mum in to the care of Melton House. The superb service they have given her is second to none. Their professionalism is outstanding. The care, the love, the activities they have provided for mum have transformed her. We would highly recommend Melton House Care Home.
All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum has settled in well and enjoys the various activities from a sing-a-long and dance to darts. All the staff treat Mum with respect and dignity always checking she's happy and if she requires anything. Mum's clothes are always clean and the food is delicious. Everyone is so caring and have created a home-from-home environment where family, friends, dogs and toddlers are always most welcome.
My mum has been a resident at Melton House for almost three months now. She is very happy living there, very well cared for and well fed! Mum enjoys the activities and I feel the staff are outstanding, always attentive and very pleasant and friendly. I have recently highly recommended Melton House to a friend.
My dad has settled well into his new life at Melton House. The staff are very friendly and caring and look after him well.
On arrival, we felt very welcomed and were shown to the lounge where our friend was sitting, looking comfortable and relaxed. The lounge was very clean and the chairs were nicely arranged, with a lovely garden outlook. We were pleased to see our friend and some family members. We enjoyed lunch with our friend. The catering staff were cheerful and very helpful. It was so nice not to feel that we were an extra burden. We had a good lunch. Thank you. Overall, our impression was of a very homely place: staff were competent and caring and friendly. We would certainly recommend this care provider to family and friends. We could not fill in all the boxes as we do not have the relevant information. For example, we did not see the rooms.
The care my mum received during her recent respite was amazing. I was very concerned about leaving her for the first time ever as she and I have always been together. However, my worries were in vain. When I first started looking for respite care and visited Melton House, I knew straight away it was the right home. Very welcoming and friendly with an open door policy. The manager answered all my questions, and Mum and I were invited in for lunch prior to her staying. The manager and her team are fantastic, and I cannot recommend the home highly enough. Excellent care and staffing levels. Mum was happy and loved her time at Melton House. I will certainly be looking to use their services again. Thank you.
Not as expected - this is a care home mainly for people with dementia or serious mobility problems. No individual change to be independent eg: no kettle or toaster in room. Too much organisation and not enough quiet time.
The care given to my mum and other residents is outstanding. They are the next best to actual family. Even when Covid got into the home they managed to help everyone pull through including Mum. Everyone is kind and caring to the residents and the relatives. The activities and entertainment are impressive and we love the Facebook updates. Mum is clearly happy and settled - she believes she is staying in a hotel!
Caring staff who always have time for you and your loved ones. Communication is always open and taking all precautions within the COVID restrictions and regulations. We would like there to be a little more flexibility around options for visits but understand what they are trying to achieve. Facilities may need updating in the near future, but everything is clean and well presented.
Melton House has been very good in every way. all the staff have been very good and kind, always helpful. they have kept me updated with all the latest info on visiting the care home during the pandemic. My dad seems to be well cared for and contented. I have been able to visit him with a window visit, which seems to work ok. When I phone to speak to him, the staff always try to get the phone to him in his room. everybody seems very friendly, the home always seems clean, and the care home manager is very nice, easy to talk to and very kind.
My step mum was in care for one week only and the care was very good. She was looked after until the end of her life.
My dad stayed for two weeks respite care at Melton House. He was made to feel welcome, safe, cared for and special. Dad's diet can be limited because of Dysphagia but he was given excellent home-cooked food during his stay. This care home feels just like someone's home and everyone is very welcoming. Such a good experience for Dad.
