View Full Details of Old RectoryMy nan has moved here recently and the care home is amazing. My nan has been made to feel welcome and at home straight away. The care staff are all treating my nan with care, respect and dignity. The management have been excellent with family answering questions and reassuring us. The activities coordinator is fantastic at keeping nanny entertained and busy daily. I have no concerns at all and highly recommend the place. Thank you for welcoming nan and family.
My mum has only been here a few weeks but she has been welcomed and made to feel included and at home straight away. The staff are all fabulous and are all looking after my mum well. I have no concerns. The rooms are lovely. Mum has a choice of meals, she enjoys the different activities including Bingo. I am sure Mum will continue to be very happy here.
A very nice room, everything I hoped for.
All residents are a family at the Old Rectory, the home is clean and has brilliant staff who deeply care and love their jobs, this makes a huge difference when placing your loved one in a home. They have an excellent entertainment coordinator, you can see all their antics on their social media page, it's wonderful to see. My father came from a horrible home which he was placed in without our choice. Once Dad was at the Old Rectory, he put on weight, had the care he needed, he was clean and very well looked after. This home isn't just a care home, everyone is family. If you want a home for your loved one look at the Old Rectory, their staff is very well trained, when I visited for the first time I asked hundreds of questions not only to staff but residents and visitors about what they thought of the home, I really looked on their reviews and CQC rating which is currently Good, I'm expecting them to be higher at the next inspection. I've worked in care for 33 years and would definitely recommend Old Rectory.
The residents of this care home have had a wonderful summer with trips to the races, the Gt. Yarmouth Waterways, garden centres and coffee shops. They have had singers to entertain them, a fete with Elvis entertaining everyone. Together with the usual activities and the occasional ice cream, they have all enjoyed themselves. Thank you to the staff and volunteers for making this happen.
The first month has been excellent. Almost home from home. Thank you for looking after me.
My Father has been a resident for approximately two years now and is very settled here. The staff are polite, caring and kind towards the residents. There are plenty of activities laid on for them and there is no pressure to take part if they don’t want to. It’s been a tough time for us coping with a loved one with dementia but the management team and admin have been extremely supportive throughout, thank you.
The staff and management at the Old Rectory are very kind and supportive. They go that extra mile. Nothing is too much for them.
Amazing staff, amazing management. Management go above and beyond to help my mother - I couldn’t be more grateful. The home is always clean, tidy and residents are always having fun with activities taking place. This really is an amazing home. Thanks.
I have been visiting the care home since 2014, originally with a family member as a resident and then with three different friends as residents. I have seen many changes over the period, especially in the last 12 months with many improvements being made to the interior of the building. Staff have always been good to the residents and the management is now at the best it has been in the past 9 years.
The home is good and the team at the Old Rectory Care Home are excellent. Ten months into my mum’s care and we’re overwhelmed with the level of care, love and support she is receiving at this difficult time. This is extended not only to my mother but to all at the home. Our thanks to the entire team for their continued hard work and dedication to looking after all the residents.
Both of my parents have been residents at the Old Rectory Care Home since December 2022. I had managed to find care for them in their home since 2016 but as their dementia and mobility deteriorated, this was not sustainable. It was very important to find a friendly and cosy place for them to live and be looked after with love and compassion. On my first visit, I was immediately struck with the lovely atmosphere and feeling of warmth around the Old Rectory. The residents seemed engaged and happy and the staff were chatting to them as friends not just 'service users'. My parents have settled well and formed friendships with staff and residents alike, as have I! It's never easy to make the decision to put your loved ones into full-time care but I have felt reassured that they are being well looked after. I have no regrets. Highly recommended.
My mother was at the Old Rectory Care Home from November 2022 until February 2023. The staff were wonderful and I have no hesitation in recommending this care home. My mother was very happy there. The activities coordinator was excellent with her entertainment for the residents every day. The staff were always helpful whenever I asked a question.
My dad was a resident at the Old Rectory for over four years. We sadly lost Dad just before Christmas. I can truly say we as a family were overwhelmed by the support and love that was shown to Dad and us throughout his final hours and during his whole 4-year stay. The staff are kind, friendly and are always cheerful. We can never thank them enough for the love they had for our dad.
Absolutely amazing staff/management. Everyone is so kind, caring and supportive. They have offered lots of reassurance to any concerns for both myself and my mum. Any issues that were raised were resolved promptly. The home is always clean and tidy. I can't thank everyone enough for the care provided.
my mother has been at the rectory for four and a half years. During that time I have always found that she has been treated with respect and dignity which sh has always said the staff are caring, friendly and kind and did a magnificent job during the pandemic. I have peace of mind knowing that my mum is well fed, clean and most importantly safe whilst she is living them.
Our experience with The Old Rectory Care Home has always been most welcome when visiting our bedridden Mum. When at any time we have needed any help it has been very prompt and positive. Mum is well and truly looked after.
As a family friend to a resident who lives here. I can say I have always seen my friend have a smile on their face. The care at Old Rectory is brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. Residents have brilliant activities and thoroughly enjoy them.

My mother (in-law) moved into The Old Rectory in January 2021 with dementia, following a long battle at home against the disease. The family had no other choice but to place Mum in a Care Home for her own safety, (the family were attending her 24 hours a day seven days a week for the final three months). She was very agitated and frightened and could not be or wanted to be left alone, however following considerable understanding, reassurance and care from the staff at the Old Rectory her demeanour became less agitated and frightened, the staff were excellent and understanding in attending to her special needs, unfortunately, Mum passed away in May 2021. The professional care and commitment shown to her by all the staff were excellent. The family would like to send them our heartfelt thanks.
