View Full Details of The Salisbury Residential HomeMy mother has dementia but could not receive better care anywhere. She is treated with dignity, kept clean, healthy and comfortable, is allowed to keep her own hours, is not coerced to do anything against her will. The staff are caring, sensible, practical and know the residents and their idiosyncratic well. I feel The Salisbury Residential Home offers excellent service at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this home for any elderly person.
Thursday evening when I left The Salisbury I had to wait as an ambulance ceww were taking a resident to hospital and there was a genuine air of concern and support for him from the three staff present. As it was my mum's 97th birthday the team had arranged for my sister, brother-in-law and me to have our lunch with her in a private dining area. This was much appreciated by us all and was a major contribution to Mum's special day. This is the first time we have been able to do this, which is much appreciated by us all.
Since Mum's first residence at The Salisbury all staff have shown great compassion, care and support. Staff have a good rapport with Mum and foster a friendly approachable manner. They always go the 'extra mile'! As we have to travel a considerable distance to visit, we have been invited to join Mum for lunch and have done so on a few occasions. We can therefore at least to the quality of the food being both variable and enjoyable.
Very happy with the care and support given to mother-in-law on all occasions I've visited. The staff without exception are friendly, supportive and caring. The open door policy ensures that there is always a friendly face just checking in and ensuring her safety. There is also a plentiful and varied supply of food to keep her healthy.
We found the care at the Salisbury outstanding- they took care of my father-in-law with such compassion in his last days and gave our family the sort of care and attention that is reserved for close family and friends - thank you to the Salisbury for making the last days of his and his large family as special as can be in difficult circumstances.
The home has cared for my mother for the last 18 months, Mum sadly passed away on the 16th of July 2024. Her care during the last 18 months has been second to none and cannot be faulted. The staff are all very professional and caring both to the residents and their families. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.
Both of my parents are residents of The Salisbury. The staff are second to none, absolutely amazing, kind and so very patient. My worries over my parent's care has disappeared since my parents moved in here. The manager and her team are exceptional and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone who was in need of their help and care.
Brilliant - mum was treated with compassion, dignity, love and kindness by all the staff - nothing was too much trouble - staff supported us as a family right through mum's stay. Mum could no longer be in her own home but this care home was just as good. All staff lovely and caring.
The Salisbury Residential Home really does go above and beyond with my grandmother. Not only do they take care of all her needs that you would expect a care home to do but they also treat her like family. That might be persuading her to try something she doesn’t want to do, giving her a kiss on her head or a hug when she is getting upset and emotional or brushing her hair out of her eye. They do this with a smile on their face and often with little to no thanks from my grandmother if she is feeling unhappy. When I have had a bad visit with her it lifts my heart to see how happy she is when the carers enter the room which is all the proof I need that my grandmother is in exactly the right place for her.
My review of The Salisbury Residential Home and all the team is for the excellent care they give my mum. The team are always happy to help and go the extra mile with the care they give to the residents. The facilities are good and aligned to the needs of the residents without being obtrusive to ensure that everyone is comfortable and it is a home-from-home. The team carry out various activities such as taking able residents out to the beautiful waterways gardens opposite (weather permitting...) and to the café there, trips to the panto at Christmas and other activities throughout the year. There is live music twice a week in the lounge and importantly for my mum a hairdresser regularly visits and getting your nails painted! Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the communal dining room is great with a choice of food to suit, plus a tea trolley a points through the day for all residents even if they are in their rooms, which you can bring possessions to make it more homely. Highly recommend!
All so friendly and always soo helpful. Nothing is ever too much for them. Always call if we need to know anything. The manager is amazing and really goes above and beyond her job role which is very rare in this day and age.
My review of The Salisbury Residential Home is excellent. It was my mum's home for the last three years and four months, until Mum passed in January 2023. I couldn't fault it, Mum was always happy singing and dancing, joining in with lots of activities, watching Christmas shows, comedy films and lots more entertainment going on. The Salisbury Residential Home was spotlessly clean, the food was very good and the care and love Mum received were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend The Salisbury Residential Home to family and friends. Thank you for your excellent care for my mum.
Mum went into The Salisbury Residential Home in September 2020 where she has been very happy and always had a smile on her face. When we visited we were treated very well by the friendly staff, the home was spotless and a very safe place for Mum to be. The food was very good and Mum loved her cups of tea. Any communication was always dealt with quickly and always ready to answer any questions we had. A lovely place, three years of happiness for my mum. We cannot ask for anymore.
My aunt has been in The Salisbury Residential Home for a few years now. The staff have always been kind, caring, fun and active. I am informed of any issues immediately and the staff all bend over backwards to help with anything. Very happy here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the home. Thank you!
The Salisbury continues to offer my mum an excellent standard of care. The management and staff have been fabulous throughout the past year ensuring we are still able to communicate easily with our loved ones in these difficult times. We are informed immediately if there are concerns about Mum, and these are addressed by the staff/management straight away; I am confident that she is safe and secure in their care. The level of cleanliness is outstanding, and it shows by how well the whole team has worked through the pandemic, keeping it totally COVID free - which is absolutely amazing, and I know the team have made sacrifices within their own families, which I cannot thank them enough for. I love the Facebook page showing photos/videos of the well thought out and creative activities the residents are kept busy and stimulated by taking part in and also celebrating life events. The management is always visible, and it is great to see them openly praise and reward their brilliant staff.
The Salisbury team are the most amazing people and have worked wonders for my Mum in giving her a far better quality of life than she was able to have at home. Their care and support have given her a new lease of life. Recently, they went over and beyond when my Dad passed away to help her understand what had happened and be involved in their own mini-wake on the day of the funeral with lots of photos, the order of service, the music they both enjoyed and special cakes to mark his passing. We couldn't have asked for more.
My mum has Alzheimer's and went into The Salisbury in February 2020. It was a heartbreaking decision for the whole family. But, it's actually been the best decision! She's safe, get's all the correct meds at the correct time in the correct dosage, she's eating better, she's stimulated with all the activities such as arts and crafts, musical entertainment etc. She's now settled and happy. The staff, led by the amazing manager, are all brilliant, caring, professional people. Recently we sadly lost our dad. The manager and her team made a banner, stood outside as the hearse drove by for mum to say her goodbyes. They printed photos of dad and mum from their early days, played their favourite songs and held a wake for her. My sister and I were amazed at all the trouble they went to and so grateful. On top of all that, the home is one of the few to have remained completely covid free, residents and staff, all year! That's an amazing accomplishment! They should be commended.
Over the past weeks, since my dear Dad was admitted to the Salisbury, I have been continuously amazed by his progress. I have not seen him look so well and happy for many years. Through Facetime and photos, I am seeing my dad having a life again, interacting with residents and staff, enjoying activities. He now recognises me and with the wonderful encouragement of carers, we are able to have conversations and share lovely memories again. At home, he had become uncommunicative and closed down which was heartbreaking. I know he is now loved and properly cared for and enjoying life again. I have lost my stress and regained my life too. My thanks to the staff of this lovely home, my dad's new home, where he also has memories of 30 years ago, when a dear friend was a resident here.
All the staff that I met were very helpful and friendly. All the rooms that I went into were very nice, clean and cosy.
Cleanliness is outstanding, very homely, food excellent with choices. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of activities going on, residents happy, security very good. Staff caring and respect residents privacy. All residents are encouraged to take part in all celebrations regardless of what it is. A lovely home, my mother-in-law was very happy there.
