Happy with the care of my father, all his needs are met.
I think the care and the facilities are excellent. The home is very clean and tidy and my wife is happy as she can be under the circumstances. She doesn't understand why she is here and can't live at home with me. I find the staff are very good and friendly.
My relative has recently moved into the home and has settled in really well already. The staff are all lovely, the admin staff always greet me with a smile and are so helpful, making me feel welcome at all times. The care my relative receives is exceptional, he is treated with love, respect and dignity. I can't thank the staff enough for their care and support over this time. I would recommend Shipdham Manor to anyone
My wife has Alzheimer's and has been at Shipdham Manor for 18 months. There are no restrictions on visiting hours and I am always made to feel welcome. Staff were well together and seem happy as they perform their duties. Her room is always clean and tidy. My wife has always been a fussy eater but never refuses her food. The quality of which I can personally vouch for. Everyone at the home is treated with respect. I am very happy with the quality of care that my wife is receiving. She is safe and I can rest knowing that she is being well looked after.
Mum has really settled in well at Shipdham Manor. This is due to all the staff that care and support her. Unfortunately, Mum can't live with me anymore, but I would not want her anywhere else now.
From the first time I went to Shipdham Manor, I was impressed by the friendly, efficient and caring atmosphere of the home. The staff are always very welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. There are various activities and outings for the residents, and I would highly recommend it.
Very caring, heart-felt staff. Very impressed with the knowledge of what was happening and what was going to happen as my nan had died. Helpful in answering any question. Help me pack personal belongings and taking to the car. I was grateful to hear about her last few days. She was happy and settle at the home. Had been a resident for serval years. Must say they also kept a close eye on her husband. They were very accommodating in supporting him to watch the funeral online as he could not attend. My grandad continues to stay at Shipdham Manor. I can't dream of him being anywhere else.
I have always found the staff in Shipdham Manor Care Home very polite, friendly and respectful. My mum likes a bit of banter and the staff comply with jokes and laughter. She loves to spend time in her room watching tv or doing her word search. The staff always pop in and check on her. The head of care keeps me updated with any doctors visits and medication changes. We always feel very welcome to visit and I like how the staff know who I am and talk about my mum with fondness.
Shipdham Manor is mainly a dementia home, so my friend found it noisy and residents kept coming into her room. The staff were excellent but trained more for dementia residents. The food was good. The internal decorations could do with some paint and TLC.
So far my mother seems to have settled in and the level of care she is being given has been good. Her medication has been maintained and she appears to have her diabetes under control. Having had a bad experience with a previous home I'm satisfied that finally, she is getting the care she needs.
The manager and the team offer a fantastic quality of care to our mum; we cannot fault their services. We are regularly kept informed and updated promptly of any changes in Mum's care package. Mum really enjoys the services they offer, hair done weekly, flower arranging classes and colouring - they have so much patience. Thanks to all the staff.
I am not related to this resident but am responsible for this family friend. Regardless, after nearly six years of care, I have been very content with their consistent good care. (I am a retired nurse with care of the elderly experience). Throughout Covid, the communication was exemplary, with activity newsletters sent monthly via email and regular resident of the day (tel call/email) to confirm there were no issues from the home or myself. The staff workload cannot be easy, and yet, they find time to do the above. This has continued, which is so positive and reassuring. Thank you to all the staff and good leadership.
Mum has been with Shipdham Manor for over a year now, and I cannot fault the care, attention and commitment of all staff. Communication is excellent, whether it be on a general basis sharing updates or events at the home or privately when situations arise. Since the easing of lockdown, activities are increasing, and I love that the families of residents are involved. The staff management has been excellent throughout, and even during my own troubles, I have felt compassion and support. Mum's care is managed really well, and I feel reassured she is definitely in the right place. Staff are professional and genuinely caring even in the most stressful situations. Great work, everyone at Shipdham Manor; you are all brilliant!
This home is so lovely. The team are lovely. The care staff are caring, compassionate, respectful and loving and know the residents. The food always smells great and accommodates the most challenging of eaters. The admin team are quick to reply to emails and very helpful when explaining and dealing with outside agencies. They are always there on the phone when needed. Thank you.
More than satisfied with the care my mother receives. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The home is very clean. My mother is happy, which is comforting to know. Whenever I've visited, I have felt welcome. During Covid, everyone seemed well-practised in the proper procedure to follow.
Mum has been at Shipdham Manor since March last year after being assessed as unable to go home by the hospital due to dementia. She settled in straight away and frequently comments on how lucky she was to get a bed there. I have met many staff and am extremely impressed with how friendly and able to communicate with Mum as an individual they all are. It is a great relief to know that Mum is happy and well cared for at Shipdham Manor. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.
When looking for a care home we look for reviews mainly for the care our loved ones will receive whilst a resident. I wanted to write a review about Mum's last few days. I was telephoned and told Mum had deteriorated and her lack of food and water were of a concern and they were contacting the doctor. A few days later it was becoming apparent that Mum was at end of life and family members from around the country were encouraged to visit. I was kept informed on a daily basis about Mum and then got that call that everyone dreads. I got to the care home and was met with the manager sat on the floor on the crash mat holding Mum's hand with another staff member stroking her head. When Mum's breathing changed I called for help, a few of the staff came in and said their goodbyes - it was so clear how much they loved her. I have no hesitation in recommending Shipdham Manor, it is an exceptional care home in life and our loved one's passing. I am hoping to volunteer in the New Year.
We cannot praise all the staff at Shipdham Manor enough for the care they gave our friend over the past two years. He loved living there, even though it was psychologically hard for him to give up his home in our village. He enjoyed all of the activities, including celebrating the Jubilee and Remembrance Day. They made these events special for him. The medical care was exceptional and they always kept us fully informed. We felt fully confident that they looked after him so well and called the GP whenever it was needed. It was clear to see how his health improved dramatically after moving to Shipdham Manor, all credit to the care he received there. From his arrival during the covid pandemic to his death, he was treated with dignity and respect and for this, we will always be truly grateful.
Our friend was only in the home for a short time, but she received excellent compassion and care throughout. The staff were always very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. We were always made welcome when visiting
