View Full Details of Wyndham House Care HomeVery friendly care home, management and staff are very friendly and lovely nothing is too much trouble for them, always there to listen to you if you want to have a chat, the residents always look happy to be there.
Wyndham House has exceeded our expectations. Dad has settled in really well. The home has plenty of activities available if the residents want to join in, guests are invited in to talk, sing and even bring small animals in for the residents to interact with. The staff are kind and caring, taking time to get to know each resident's little ways, nothing is too much trouble.
This is a home. It is a pleasure.
My father had a recent episode in hospital. Management accommodated Dad with an up-and-down bed to reduce further discomfort. All staff were aware of changes in my dad's mobility. Management soon recognised signs of a UTI and promptly had the nurse test for this. Dad is now happily on the mend after appropriate medication. My dad is now feeling and eating better.
My dad has been a resident for nearly 2 years now and while there have been staff and manager changes, has always received quality care. The atmosphere at times early in the year wasn't always as good as it could, but since the current management team have taken over, the atmosphere has improved noticeably. The team are friendly, caring and always willing to help and the manager is always available for a chat to discuss Dad's care and any queries we have.
Genuine care for Dad. Staff have kept me fully informed of how Dad is and let us know of any health issues or concerns expeditiously.
Very happy with our choice of care home for my mother. We had recently moved to the area and had decided to move her from her care home in Hertfordshire to have her nearer to us. Obviously, this is a challenging and unsettling time for her and they have been brilliant. She has settled in over the last few months and has said she is very happy at Wyndham House. She wasn't as happy at the last home despite is being very fancy and high-end. This is because the carers and staff at Wyndham House really do care. Every time we visit at as a family or individually the staff always greet us and have time to chat about our mum and how she is. She says they are her friends and she enjoys talking with them. The home has a homely feel to it and isn't too large that the personal touch is lost. Mum has a bird feeder on her window that the gardener keeps topped up for her which is lovely as the garden and feeding the birds was very important to her when she lived independently.
My grandad has sadly been placed into care as we no longer could help look after him, since seeing many care homes in the past this was very upsetting to know he was going into care. I visited my grandad this week and I was overwhelmed by how lovely the care home was. The place was very clean and had lots of maintenance work taking place, The staff were all friendly and the manager was superb. She showed me all around, explained everything and was overall just a very lovely lady. I came away really happy he is in a lovely place.
Mum is very happy at Wyndham House, she is very well cared for and sees it as home. All her needs, physical and mental are met. She always appears content and well-dressed. The home management are responsive to any enquiries and keen to address any issues raised.
High turnover of staff. The manager never returned emails the whole time my mother was there. When visiting she would choose to ‘not see’ you, actively ignoring. There were no activities for months so no stimulation for residents. It is a difficult environment. We totally understand that and some of the staff were great but others didn’t even actively try and connect with residents. It has a nice garden but we never saw residents ever taken out - only their visitors who facilitated this. The site manager told us they never bothered! The belongings of my mother constantly went missing. The food was awful, very little healthy food, lots of cheap stodge. No available water in communal areas just sugary squash - for visitors or residents. Cups always seemed dirty. Found staff hiding in resident's rooms instead of helping. Would not recommend. Smells of urine.
Very caring, friendly place for residents and families. Always welcome.
The resident was moved to a smaller room at the end of January and the staff/management did their utmost to settle him into his new surroundings. The care and support they all provide are fantastic. So pleased we moved him to Wyndham House!
Wyndham House is like a home away from home. There is a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and helpful. My mum has settled in well and is socialising and interacting with the other residents and staff. She did not have the capacity to socialise much due to her condition before moving to Wyndham. She is less agitated and has improved her mobility incredibly since being assisted at Wyndham. We liked the fact that the care home was not big and impersonal but more like friends living together.
The staff are always so caring and treat Mum with dignity. She is always clean and nourished and well looked after. We are so grateful for the care she has had. It reassures us so much to know she is safe and well cared for. We cannot thank all the staff enough. Thank you all so much.
Welcoming staff who have really gone above and beyond to help dad settle in and put our minds at rest knowing he is truly cared for and well looked after. He's loving the homecooked food as he's got a good appetite!
Care for nan has always been excellent since moving into Wyndham House. Staff have always been supportive and settled nan into her new home. Staff are always welcoming towards me when visiting. Nan has settled well since moving in, this is all thanks to the care and support shown by the staff.
All the staff at the care home provide a calm, friendly environment for the residents. This makes my mother feel happy and relaxed during a confusing stage in her condition. She is very at home here because of the love and care she gets - Thank you.
Mum has been here for nearly two years and is well cared for and happy. The staff are helpful and pleasant to deal with and we can easily sort out any items that may need reviewing. The rooms are regularly cleaned and Mum's clothes are always clean. Hard to fault really. I have been in much worse homes and this one is well thought of!
I have no complaints with the home and enjoyed the residents' meeting.
My stepfather has been a resident at Wyndham House for almost three years, since my Mum passed away. The management and staff are exemplary. The care, support, understanding and kindness given to my stepfather gives me peace of mind that he is in a safe, happy and caring place. Thank you all.
