View Full Details of Allonsfield House Nursing HomeSince my husband entered Allonsfield initially for respite I am completely happy with the high level of care he is receiving and find members of staff I have so far met to be very friendly and most helpful.
Staff very caring and patient with my mum even when she can be uncooperative as use to doing things her way. They support her in maintaining her independence. The cleanliness in the home is spotless. Food menu and choice very good. Kind, friendly staff when I visit.
I only have good things to say about Allonsfield as a facility and members of staff I have had contact with. Mother went into Allonsfield late 2015 and over the years I have had contact with a changing work force. There still remains a few employees from the start and I have never had a problem with anyone and nothing has ever been a problem that can not be resolved in that time. Allonsfield has always been able to accommodate mothers ever changing condition. Last week I visited with my sister and it was not possible to sit with mother in the common room, but two members of staff realised this and moved mother to a side room making her comfortable and allowing us to have room to be with her. We have always had the option to have space from other residents, there are so many options. Many thanks to all the staff for their care, dedication and input to a wonderful care home.
My mother entered Allonsfield for end-of-life care after suffering a number of small strokes. We were given a very positive view of the home when we attended an open day in December and then had to call at short notice to request a room. The staff visited us promptly and Mum was admitted the next day. The nursing section is purpose-built, beautifully appointed with up-to-date equipment. The bedrooms are spacious, well-designed and ensuite. The large day room is bright, light and furnished to a high standard. My mother was made very welcome in the nursing section and during her stay was given a high level of individual attention. The medical and personal care she received was first-class. The staff were skilled at communicating to us the changes in my mother's condition and always took the time to ensure that both she and her visitors were comfortable. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated and she died peacefully with us by her side after a stay of two weeks. Highly recommended.
I and the family are so pleased with this care home. The best place we could put Mum, the care is excellent, all the staff welcome us with a smile. Thank you for the care you provide for my mum.
My mum has been at Allonsfield House Nursing Home for a while now and is so happy. The staff and manager are excellent and everyone makes you feel welcome. They are all kind and excellent in their work. My mum is looked after so well, nothing is too much trouble, it's like one big happy family and I appreciate everything they do for my mum and my family.
I am very pleased with the care my wife has received, she has dementia, the care staff are excellent. My family and I are always welcomed when we visit. My wife enjoys singing and activities, she has settled in and is very happy. Thank you all for the care you are all giving my wife.
After over a 1 year of care, I can say I am pleased with my wife's care, particularly as her condition with her Lewy Body Syndrome, Macular Degeneration and Parkinson's. She is treated kindly by all the staff and I am pleased to recommend Allonsfiled House to my friends and contacts. Thank you all for her detailed care and kindness.
It was a real shock when my husband and I were both in hospital and it was deemed that he must go into care, not home - I was recovering from pneumonia, then they said heart failure - and unable to give the care my husband deserved. I could not wish for a better 'substitute home' for him, everyone, yes everyone shows such care even though they must at times be so weary. They are marvellous.
Myself and Billy (my border collie) are volunteer visitors for Therapy Dogs Nationwide. You will see Billy's picture on the website (I'm not as photogenic), he loves to visit and meet the residents. When we are there we access all areas of the home, so everybody who wants a stroke of his soft coat gets the opportunity. It's especially nice for those who miss their own dogs, and the fact that he is happy to help with the dispatch of biscuits makes everybody happy. He and I are welcomed by residents and staff, and we have a chat and a fuss. Billy is a very friendly and easygoing dog, spending a lot of time sitting on the feet of residents - he likes to get close. The staff, without exception, are friendly and welcoming of us. I do hope that we bring some pleasure.
The staff were kind, understanding and caring. A beautiful room which was clean and attention to detail was paid with regard to cleanliness and ensuring the bed was comfortable and in working order. Staff were knowledgeable with regard to the medicines required and worked closely with the local GP practice which we found reassuring. The assessment of need was accurate which enhanced staff knowing the needs and how to meet those needs but also to be able to person-centred care. Lovely food at the time of main meals and well supported by snacks
I think £6000 per month is too much for the tiny room she is in!
My aunt has now been at this care home for just over 4 years. When she first arrived the home was rated as outstanding, however over the last two years the standards have dropped significantly and now has a rating of satisfactory. The support staff have always been pleasant and I believe they work hard for what is essentially minimum wage. I have struggled with the management, there is no continuity and there is regular change with the home manager position, this is despite being assured this will not continue to happen. Costs have gone up on average 10% a year which is profiteering, and standards have dropped. My aunt's personal possessions have also gone missing, including a watch which had sentimental value. In general I'm very disappointed.
Lovely welcoming home - clean and fresh, everyone friendly. Lots of fun activities. Made lots of friends.
My aunt was moved from a nursing home in another area to be closer to family. It was a very big move for my 93-year-old aunt but everyone here at Allonsfield House has made everything so easy. The staff are so welcoming and caring, nothing is too much trouble. I have every confidence that my aunt will be very happy here.
Very lovely staff, polite and helpful. Best manager so far in the 3 years my nanny has been here. The receptionist is always so kind.
Since my mother has been in the home she has received excellent care and kindness. The staff are so caring and kind.
Allonsfield House Nursing Home has improved beyond measure recently because a new staff member has brought new life and vigour into the residents' everyday lives at the home. I have seen my mother's well-being and mental health improve. Today she has gone on a trip which I am sure she will enjoy.
Although busy, the staff are a fantastic asset. Attentive, kind and considerate in all aspects of care provision. This is reflected across the whole organisation at Allonsfield. All staff, from cleaners, the caterers, maintenance, carers and nurses, all showed a very positive outlook to residents, taking time to talk to residents and visitors.
Very good as it was a short notice stay for emergency respite, the staff were very good, dealt with food very well for someone who is wheat and gluten-free. Would recommend this care home to anyone who is looking for a place for their loved ones.
