View Full Details of The BeechesMy Mum went into The Beeches in May 2022. Mum settled in right from day one. Excellent care and love, Mum was very naughty at times and had staff on their toes. Mum was so happy there, which made me happy. All staff are brilliant. And I mean all. Mum loved the garden, especially watching the goats, birds... Mum sadly passed away in December 2024, the end-of-life care was excellent. This care home is excellent. Food is excellent. Actives, Mum loved when had singers to the home. I miss the home as I was there 3/4 a week. But will pop in from time to time.
My sister-in-law is being very well cared for by the staff.
I wrote a review of The Beeches in July last year but now that my mum has sadly passed away I wanted to update my feedback. Mum was given the very best care right to the very end and we could not have asked for more. We are very lucky to have found The Beeches and would certainly recommend it. The staff are amazing and they and the management really care about the residents. We cannot thank them enough.
My partner's Father went in here to enable his wife to have a break. We visited twice and were not impressed to find the residents sitting in a room with music playing without any other stimulation. A carer sat doing nothing, not engaging the residents. After 4 days there he ended up in hospital as they claim they found him in his room choking. He nearly died and has never recovered.
My mum moved to The Beeches in June 2024 from another care home which I thought had been great. I was very nervous about moving her but the team at The Beeches have been fabulous. I never needed to worry. Mum has settled, she smiles all the time, she is much calmer and I can see happier. She has enjoyed the entertainment, happily sits in the lounges (which didn't happen before). I am very happy with The Beeches.
Mum is a new resident, and so far, we are very happy with all aspects of her care. All staff were have come in contact with, be it carers or management, have all been very professional, caring and friendly. They have welcomed Mum to the home with open arms, and we have every confidence she will be well cared for.
Dad moved into The Beeches in October 2023 and sadly passed away this week. Having moved him from a home that looked like a hotel but whose care was worse than poor, The Beeches surpassed all our expectations. Treating Dad with dignity and respect throughout his stay, even when he could be challenging. The manager and her team are exceptional, and always focused on the best for the resident. They are creative and flexible and they don’t give up on making sure they offer each resident the care their needs require, no one is treated as a number. Right up until Dad passed they continued with their dedicated care for him and their love for the work they do is heartwarming for family members in those difficult last days. My sister and I will miss them all because they became part of an extended family. The warmth and love they showed our dad reiterated their exceptional care for their residents. I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone faced with seeking a care home for their loved ones.
The lovely staff caring for my mum are really special. Mum recently had a fall and when I arrived at her home there was a member of staff laying on the floor with her to keep her calm and another carer with us for a few hours until the ambulance arrived. After a week’s stay in hospital, they welcomed her back which was so nice and reassuring as Mum was so unsettled being away from her usual surroundings due to her Alzheimer’s. Thank you to all your amazing staff at The Beeches who go far beyond their normal caring duties.
As a family, we couldn’t be happier with the care and love our mother receives from the excellent care team. Our mother who has dementia is always clean and well looked after and is very happy in her home, surrounded by her personal things in her lovely room. The staff are always friendly and caring and obviously happy to be working in this wonderful care home. We would definitely recommend The Beeches and are so blessed we found such a lovely place for our dear mum. Thank you so much to all the staff who give so much love and joy to their residents.
My aunt has been a resident at The Beeches for 5 years, during which time she has been happy and well looked after. The Beeches is a very friendly, caring and cheerful home, with the managers and carers getting to know their residents really well. They respond to my aunt's changing needs and make sure that she can still enjoy activities where possible. I am kept well informed of any health issues. Other friends and family have also commented very positively about the Beeches after their visits to see my aunt.
Our mother is at The Beeches. All staff are very friendly and great at their jobs. Mother is shown lots of care and attention whilst also being respected. We are kept up to date with all aspects of mothers' care. We as a family always felt welcome when visiting. A lovely care home.
Always made to feel welcome by the staff and managers. Nice to know that mum is in good hands Can not fault the patience shown by all staff under stressful times Always find one of staff if I have a question
There's not enough words to say thank you for the care and support my mother gets. All the staff there are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. Always greeted with a smile. When there, staff are always polite and look enthusiastic. My mother always looks clean and tidy. I also have high praise for management team too, as to how The Beeches is run. Keeping us updated with any concerns and making sure standards are kept. There's been absolutely no regrets placing my mother there.
My husband has been at The Beeches for over 14 years. His care has always been exemplary. We both like the cosy, homely feeling of this old Georgian property, which still retains its old fireplaces. Any medical crisis is quickly addressed by the staff. My husband has not only Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia but was diagnosed simultaneously with bipolar disorder, and he can sometimes be quite challenging, but the staff are alert to the possibilities this combination can present at times. He is still able to make home visits, and these are encouraged. I have recommended The Beeches several times to families looking for residential care for a loved one.
As a family we are happy that Mum is receiving great care at The Beeches. She has dementia and the staff are quick to realise when she's not 100% and will act on it swiftly. The dementia causes her care needs to change on a daily basis but the staff read her well and adapt their approach accordingly. They also consult and liaise with external NHS specialist teams to ensure Mum's needs are fully met. The Beeches has a good relationship with the GP surgery, a GP visits weekly and the surgery have proved to be swift in responding when Mum has required medical attention outside of the weekly visit. There is a happy atmosphere in the home, with lots of activities and the staff actively encourage residents to participate but also respect the wishes of those who prefer not to join in. There is a TV lounge, a radio lounge and a quiet lounge so residents have a choice of where to sit. They can also sit in a lovely conservatory overlooking the garden.
The staff and management at The Beeches work tirelessly to provide a dignified, comfortable and enjoyable experience within the home. They make the relatives feel welcome and very understanding and considerate when you visit your relatives. The environment is always clean and the way the rooms are set out provides small intimate areas so residents aren't overwhelmed by too many people in one place at a time.
Great care for Mum. The staff are very friendly. Mum always looks clean and well-dressed.
Good care for Mum with friendly staff. Mum is always dressed nicely and her appearance is really good. We are pleased with Mum's care.
Having cared for my mother full-time for 18 months during the pandemic, I reached a point where I knew placing my mother (91 years with Alzheimer's) would not be a shock to her. I had feelings of guilt and concerns about how well my mother would be treated. I looked at several care homes prior to choosing The Beeches. Within five minutes of looking around the home, I knew this was the right place for my mother. Since February 2022, when Mum moved in, I have only had positive feelings about her care. The staff are clearly all kind, patient and considerate to both my mother and other residents. This is a wonderful care facility. Thank you.
Mum has been here now for just over two years and in that time, she has settled in well. The staff are always very caring and support Mum in everything she needs. Nothing is ever too much when asked. Management are always very accommodating and always keep us informed of Mum's health and well-being. I would highly recommend The Beeches for their outstanding care and support around dementia.
