View Full Details of Elton Park Care HomeWe as a family could not have wished for better care for our father. The staff were friendly. Always had time to speak to our father. The respect they showed our father was above and beyond although our father did not have a long stay before he passed away. The staff kept us informed at all times, and treated us with respect and gave us the time we needed and support right up to the end.
In the 2 years, my mother was staying here at the care home they went out of their way and made my mother welcome and happy in her new chapter in their care, They made her feel at home and went out of their way to keep to her needs and informed me if there was problems.
I arranged for my husband to stay at Elton Park for one week so that I could take a short holiday. I chose this care home after meeting the management and staff as I was impressed by their interest and attention to the details of him and his requirements. Unfortunately, I had an accident whilst I was away I had to ask the staff to extend his stay. Initially, this was to be for one more week but ended up being for a further three weeks. They were understanding and helpful and I was relieved that they could accommodate him at a time when I was unable to care for him myself. He enjoyed his stay and became very fond of the staff who took amazing care of him. They went above and beyond the brief to ensure that he was happy and relaxed.
Very pleased with the care my sister in law is receiving. Slight issues that have arose and been dealt with, putting in place a plan to resolve them. Being a new resident we are still in the settling in stage. Required moving from upstairs to down stairs which has improved her socialising.
My wife had unfortunately been quite poorly and after a long time spent in hospital and a decision I didn't take very lightly we as a family decided that we could no longer cater for my wife's needs at home. Elton Park was a home we asked for as my wife had spent some respite there the previous year. She was given the same room she had previously which I thought was lovely and we came over to bring all of her home comforts before she arrived. Since she has been in I visit almost on a daily basis and the staff are all so welcoming and I can tell my wife is in the best place for her.
My mum had been in hospital for around 8 weeks prior to finally being admitted to Elton Park Care Home and I can honestly say it was the biggest welcome relief to not only get my mum into a home I had requested as she had previously had a week's respite here in 2023. The care and support that all the staff at Elton Park have given my mum after her hospital stay was so much more attentive to my mum's personal needs they have built her confidence back up as she was treated so poorly in hospital. We visit almost on a daily basis and my family and I feel so welcomed by all the staff here, and we can see the happiness on my mum's face when the carers check in on her.
Dad has spent nearly two weeks of respite here and honestly, it’s the staff that make Elton spark - a very special place. They are there for the families as much as they are for the residents. They show so much care, compassion and kindness to everyone who walks through the door. They are gentle and patient with even the most challenging situations. I have great respect for them. They could do with another pair of hands in the kitchen or an area where family and visitors could make or purchase drinks and snacks as you have to call on a member of the care team if you need anything and as willing as they are they are very busy.
On my visit, it was very welcoming, with great managers and staff on hand to assist with anything. The home has a friendly atmosphere, well organised and efficient. Easy to find and park. Security was excellent with a locked door with use of a keypad and I was asked to sign in and out of the visitor book.
My dad went to Elton Park Care Home for a respite, and soon settled in and requested it to become his permanent home. He always found the staff to be caring and nothing was too much trouble. When I visited my dad I also felt the staff were caring, attentive, friendly, and considerate towards Dad and all his family members. I cannot praise all staff enough for the care and love they showed
My father stayed in Elton Park Care Home for the last 20 months until he sadly passed away in Elton about 4 weeks ago. My dad was very happy and he always felt safe in Elton. The carers/staff were very considerate, respectful and kind, the last 4 weeks they were very supportive of my dad and all my dad's children and family. My dad passed away with dignity and respect. We felt as a family that Elton Park Care Home was definitely the right choice as it became my dad's home.
Having worked in care all my life I am impressed with the care and dignity I observed. I wish I had known about Elton Park when my late mother passed she was in another home which thankfully closed down. Whilst Elton Park has non of the blingy decor seen these days but sold oak of classic style the sorts the residents grew up in. One of the main things I noticed was how residents look well turned out, happy and relaxed just what we all want for our family members when their time comes to receive more hands-on care. Very refreshing to see.
The care, support, and willingness of the staff at Elton Park, in my experience with our dad, is beyond exceptional. Nothing seems too much trouble for them and they really do go that extra mile in putting the people in their care at ease. The Manager is approachable, whilst professional, the staff same ways. The building and grounds are very clean and well kept, the food appears tasty, hot drinks are regularly offered and squash is continuously available. Overall I am 100 percent satisfied with my interactions with the Home and (despite my initial reservations about our dad going into residential care) I am truly satisfied that the decision was made as he's positively thriving.
My dad moved to Elton Park Care Home on February 14th after the death of my mum. The staff were lovely helping my dad settle in and always happy to keep me updated on how my dad was. When visiting my dad the staff always made time to talk to me about my dad. The room was well decorated and kept clean and tidy but still homely. My dad was happy there and was well cared for by all the staff. Although he was only with them for a few weeks until he died it gave me peace of mind that he was well cared for.
Carers we have dealt with have been very pleasant and helped my mother. Since residing here has gone from strength to strength. Eating and drinking well and socialising with other residents. Home is always clean and tidy and smells fresh. Food looks edible and tasty. Residents look well cared for. Nothing is too much for them.
I am very concerned about the care my father has been getting. Since being at Elton Park he has broken both of his hips. Now I accept that at 83 Dad is frail but he has only been in the home since October 2021 and despite a number of previous falls, there was nothing this serious. My concern comes from a phone call which I received yesterday telling me that my father had fallen again over the weekend. However, the person I spoke to could not tell me when or the circumstances of the fall - just that Dad was OK. We currently can't go to see Dad because Elton Park has Covid. I am concerned that staffing levels are not sufficient to provide the necessary support to allow Dad to be safe at all times. Dad has had his room changed and although this one is better it desperately needs decorating and lacks any homely touches. Having said this, Dad's relationships with the carers are good and they are excellent. My concern is that there are just not enough of them to keep Dad safe.
My first taste of respite care and found it extremely disappointing. Never saw the home manager. During my stay, a jumper, vest, 2 towels, and 2 luxury facecloths purchased for the stay were lost. Despite the home being nowhere near capacity, I had a room at the furthest end of the building. Food not always suitable for my type 2 diabetes. Was not offered a bath or shower during my 6-night stay.
I am confident that my father is being well looked after. The staff are all wonderful.
My Mum was a permanent resident here for just 8 months. A real home from home. The care she received was excellent, which to me is more important than the home having a cinema! Unfortunately Mum died in the home. The whole team treated us and my Mum with the greatest respect, for which I will always be grateful.
My Dad came to Beech Lawn on New Year's Eve after the death of Mum. His care has been outstanding. Everyone is so kind and compassionate. As a family, we are very grateful.
Dad always seems to be happy. Today I came in to find him playing bingo. It was lovely to see. I have never known my Dad to ever play bingo.
