View Full Details of Carlton Hall Residential HomeMum was very well looked after; good communication between the home and the family. Could not have wished for Mum to have been in a better place.
Exceptional service and care were provided from intake onwards. Impressively client/person centred. Nothing too much trouble! very professional and understanding re people with dementia. Beautiful grounds, great activities, delicious food. My Mum is very happy here. Her mood has already lifted and I feel so grateful and also reassured she is getting exceptional care. Thank you.
My dad came into care very poorly and weak. Since then he has put on a stone and is very much stronger. His every need is taken care of - showers, dressing, laundry, lovely meals, and snacks. Presents on Holidays and lots of daily activities. The room is spacious and clean, with lovely furniture. The home's staff are great, and many are related, so a family business.
I was very impressed with Carlton Hall, the staff team are brilliant, very caring and always have time for a quick word or a joke with the residents, plenty of activities for everyone to look forward to. A blueprint for care in the future.
All of the staff are caring, kind and treat my mum with dignity and respect. However busy they are, they spare time to talk to Mum to make her feel at home and at ease. Their compassion and patience are amazing.
Dad was in the home from November 2021 through to his death in September 2022. He was admitted aged 91, still with good mobility at that time but suffering very badly with dementia. The care he received from all members of the team was exemplary and everybody there (including those whose roles are not directly linked to the provision of care) genuinely seem to care. It was a comfort for me to find such a nice, welcoming and safe place for Dad to spend the last phase of his life, where the meals were good, where there was a good range of activities/entertainment and where he was always treated with respect.
My mother was admitted to Carlton Hall Residential Home in September 2021. She has had various health issues and the staff have gone out of their way to comfort and reassure her, I can not praise them enough. They are all very helpful and friendly and my mother is treated with the utmost respect, nothing is too much trouble.
Our mother spent 2 weeks in The Granary in January 2021, having suffered another exacerbation due to COPD and was struggling to look after herself at home. Her time spent at Carlton Hall Residential Home gave her the chance to 'recharge her batteries' enabling her to improve. The staff were all friendly, professional and caring and it was a further comfort to our family that she was being so well looked after in a beautifully appointed room set in lovely surroundings. Unfortunately due to her condition our mother ended up in hospital end of May 2022 and was told she needed support before she could be discharged. Once again our mum is back in Carlton Hall and although going home would have been everyone's preferable option, we couldn't be more relieved and happy that our mum is back in the caring hands of the Carlton Hall team.
Mum was at Carlton Hall Residential Home for two years following a fall and a hip replacement. Her care was exemplary throughout but especially in her difficult last days and hours. I live far away but they kept me informed throughout and facilitated her passing in a compassionate and professional manner.
This is our first experience of a care home and although I knew Carlton Hall Residential Home had a very good reputation, I cannot thank the staff enough for how well they have cared for my mum. From my first enquiry and throughout Mum's two-week stay for respite care, the staff have been so open, kind and caring. They welcomed Mum in with big smiles and made her laugh and I collected her today still laughing and joking with the lovely people who made her feel so at home. I have been very impressed with their professionalism and compassion which gives me peace of mind for Mum's future respite care when needed.
The care that my parents have received during their time at Carlton Hall has been excellent. We have had some difficult times due to their health, the support care from all the staff has made this difficult time for us so much easier, especially as some of the family are not local. Fantastic team, driven and managed by the bungalow manager.
I can not thank and praise the wonderful team at Carlton Hall enough. Everyone is so kind and caring to my mum, when I visit mum is always content and happy. My mum looks immaculate with her nails painted and hair washed and set. The grounds are beautiful with lovely flowers, ponds and plenty of seating. Although I have been unable to see mum's room I just know the standard is high.
Everything was explained to me clearly. I was looked after, shown what to do, to see my father. It was a very emotional time. I am very grateful to Carlton Hall for its high standard of keeping all residents safe.
We placed my mother here a few years ago. She liked the home and was happy to stay. She remarked how happy all the staff are. The food is exceptional and you have a good choice. My mother has sadly deteriorated due to her age and illness (93) years young. She is unable to do anything for herself, but she is now given 2-to-1 care. We find the home caring, kind, professional and clean. I am happy my mum is there.
My wife has been a resident of this excellent care home for just over 2 years due to Vascular Dementia and physical disability and from day one she has settled in and really liked the home. She’s always been treated with excellent care, dignity and is always looking well in regards to her clothing. The care staff keep me updated regularly with her treatment if she falls ill and during the lockdown periods the care and entertainment staff have gone above their roles to keep her entertained and by providing us with video calls once or twice a week so we can keep in touch with each other. The management of this home have gone above the required PPE standards and have been very good at keeping the residents and staff safe during the pandemic, and the standards of care, food and hygiene are all excellent in my opinion. Their entertainment staff do a great job keeping my wife and the other residents fully entertained. I can’t thank the care staff enough for their work and I highly recommend this home.
My mother was admitted last October as it was in the middle of the pandemic it has been a difficult time for everyone. I've always found the staff helpful and pleasant. My mother has settled well and is happy. Her health has been well looked after and there is a caring atmosphere around her. I am more than happy with the care she has received. (As I haven't been able to see her room and go inside I cannot comment on some of the subjects below)
Carlton Hall appears to be well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. My aunt has been a resident since mid-December 2020 and has settled in well. She enjoys the companionship of the other residents and the activities. We understand that the Covid situation has caused additional pressure on both staff and residents but the management have dealt with the situation sensibly and managed to limit infections to residents, with good, sound procedures in place which all staff adhere to. We have been unable to visit my aunt's room so we are unable to comment on size or suitability but I know she is comfortable and all her needs are catered for. I know she relies heavily on the staff to do most basic tasks for her and she is very appreciative of all that they do.
