View Full Details of Davers CourtI cannot think of a better place for my brother to be. He simply could not cope on his own at home. All the staff have been extremely kind to him to ensure he is well looked after and supported for all his needs. He told me "they feel like part of the family".
We moved our Mother into Davers Court in January 2025 after a very short wait. The team made the transition so easy and our mother settled in very quickly. The home is warm, inviting, stimulating for all the residents.the food they have is amazing, always a selection on the menu. The staff could not be more helpful, always willing to chat, sort out any queries we might have and go over and beyond their duties. We are kept informed via the app on what is happening, together with an email each week of the activities on offer. We are very happy with the care our mother is getting.
Mum has been in Davers Court for four weeks respite care and we have been very happy with her stay. We have found all staff to be friendly, caring, professional, approachable and helpful. Lovely comfortable clean facilities, the coffee shop is a lovely area to spend time with mum when visiting. Very good menu choices, good variety of activities and entertainment. Most importantly mum has been safe, happy and very well cared for. Thank you.
The care home was very welcoming and the staff were good at introducing themselves and making sure my father was settled and happy. There was a good range of activities to attend and the staff seemed to actively encourage attendance which made for an enjoyable stay.
Since April 2023 we continue to be impressed by all aspects of Davers Court, especially the varied daily activities offered to the residents. The care givers are exceptional, friendly and respectful. We see them encouraging the residents to partake in the social life of Davers Court. There is excellent two way communication between our mother and family members. The atmosphere in the coffee lounge comes across as a very happy place to relax in. Thank you to everyone.
From the moment she arrived, it was clear that the facility is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for its residents, especially those living with Dementia. The staff are remarkable. They are not only highly trained and professional but also genuinely compassionate and attentive. The atmosphere of the care home is warm and inviting. The common areas are bright and cheerful, filled with art and decorations that create a home-like feel. Communication has also been a strong point. The management regularly updates us on my mother-in-law and is always available to discuss any concerns. The activities offered are diverse and engaging. There's always something happening that brings joy and social interaction to the residents. The welcoming environment have made this transition much easier for us and, most importantly, for our mother-in-law. We are grateful to have found such a wonderful place that prioritizes the well-being and happiness of its residents.
My Mum has Alzheimer's and with much consideration about the options available she had to move to Davers Court. It was hard in the first week as her Alzheimers was worse to start with but with care from the staff who have so much patience, she is gradually more settled and less confused. She still has Alzheimer's but now has some much brighter days in between the confused ones. Nothing is too much trouble and I have also felt care for myself and assurance that this was the right thing for Mum. Very impressed with how things are going and huge thanks.
We moved my mother to Davers Court from another home in Bury St Edmunds upon a recommendation and both my sister and I are so pleased with this decision as she has late-onset dementia which is clearly affecting her health. However, we have found the staff to be so welcoming and helpful. Whenever I visit there is a lovely atmosphere and the residents that mum has contact with are also happy and willing to converse with her. One of the major benefits is the garden which is beautifully managed and the pathways which make it easy for mum and I to walk around her home. Initially, she was very resistant to the move, however after a rickshaw ride around the Abbey gardens she happily stated to my sister that she was home. There is a full activities programme on offer and when she attends I know she enjoys herself.
Last year we realised our mum in West Sussex could no longer live independently. I live in West London and we made the decision for her to come up to Bury St Edmunds as my sister is there and it's just a 2-hour journey for me to come and stay with her. Initially Mum was in another care home, however, after a few months we were not happy despite raising concerns. A visiting District Nurse recommended Davers Court to us, my sister and I visited and immediately felt the homely atmosphere and saw carers genuinely caring. Mum moved to Davers Court in late August, obviously a bit unsettling for her but everyone has made her so welcome and we can see she's joining in more activities already. She's enjoying the meals, and she loves the rickshaw rides, I accompanied her last weekend and as we came back into the car park mum said 'ah, we're back home' I was so happy! I'd definitely recommend Davers Court should someone need residential care.
My mum never wanted to go into a care home, and it is so good she believes she is in a hotel where everything is free! It is a testament to all the team that she has settled so well and so quickly. Everyone is kind, caring, friendly and always willing to help. The whole management of the place is professional and even better than expected. Mum loves the delicious food and beverage and the entertainment team works tirelessly to entertain with plenty of laughs, trips and events. Mum loves all her carers and her key worker has been amazing and another member of staff super helpful.
The building is very bright and modern but also very homely inside. I find the staff very warm, friendly, approachable and very caring. I am confident my mum is receiving a very high level of care from staff.
I can't thank the Davers Court Crew enough for all their support and care. They really do go above and beyond for residents and relatives - it really does feel like a huge extended family. It is so much more than a care setting. I am so pleased that my family member is safe, nurtured and treated like a valued individual.
Mum has been at Davers Court since the beginning of the year. It took a while for her to settle in and get used to her new setting. She is starting to flourish now she has got her confidence with the staff and her surroundings. Mum has become more involved with the many activities that are provided. Special thanks to one member of staff in particular who throws himself into everything he organises. Mum particularly enjoys the trips out in the minibus. There is always a happy atmosphere and all the staff are so friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. I am so pleased we found such a homely and happy place for my mum to live. Thanks to another member of staff in particular for helping to navigate the application process and finding a room at short notice when Mum's health took a turn for the worse, and for her ongoing support. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Davers Court.
Having had the decision of moving my Mum into residential care taken out of our hands by the NHS due to her declining dementia we were forced to find a suitable home. My sister had the very hard task of finding a care facility that suited my mum's needs and also was within easy reach to the majority of the family. Care UK is by far the best choice covering all of the specific criteria we had set out. Since my Mum has taken up residency her quality of life has improved immensely, the team at the facility can’t be more friendly or helpful and it has put the whole family’s mind at rest to know she is in fantastic hands. Obviously, this is still very early days as she has only been in the facility a couple of weeks but I am sure the care she will receive will continue to be fantastic.
Mum has been at Davers Court for about a month now. From the beginning, it has offered a very relaxed and warm welcome. It is a place where Mum can let go of life’s stresses and worries. She can even spend quality time with her dog which has been a huge comfort. She enjoys the meals, the daily activities, entertainment and trips and has quickly felt a part of the community. She is well looked after and the staff are friendly and helpful. Many of them have taken the time to chat with her so they get to know each other. In the communal lounges and at social activities, new friendships with some of the other residents are starting to grow. Staff have encouraged her to use her skills and abilities. Her bedroom is kept clean and is freshly decorated. She has a telephone in her bedroom to keep in contact with friends and family. Transfer of medical records and other requests have been efficiently dealt with. Would like to access the hairdresser on other days but overall - well done Davers Court!
From day one the care and support received from Davers Court has been first-class in every respect, compassionate, kind and professional. This has led to a marked improvement in my father's physical and mental wellbeing which is wonderful to see. The activities programme caters for a good range of interests and it's lovely to see the joy this brings to all the residents. All the staff are very friendly and caring always prepared to go the extra mile by taking a keen interest in the needs of every resident. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking to provide the best possible care for their loved ones.
Absolutely amazing staff. Kind caring and passionate about their work. I accompany a lady that goes to the Davers club and she has such an enjoyable time. Food and cakes are delicious and cooked to perfection. They run weekly trips out in the minibus which is great. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone thinking of placing a relative or loved one here. A clean and tidy environment and always greeted with a welcoming smile.
All dealings/engagements with all staff members have been very positive, professional and personal. All staff are friendly, approachable, caring and willing to assist in any way possible - this across all teams (care, activities, management, catering, support, domestic etc). Care is of high quality/standard and very personal. Activities are broad-ranging and engaging, including great outside excursions. Catering is of high quality and nutritious with everything homemade/cooked - relatives are also able to dine in with residents. A strong caring and team ethos is displayed at all times. Would absolutely recommend Davers Court to others.
My mother was in residential care in the Riverside Suite for nearly 12 months. The whole care team did an excellent job and you can see they all really did care. The man on the activities team was a source of energy and entertainment organising a fantastically diverse programme that kept Mum engaged. Thank you.
My mother moved in in early November 2023 and has not looked back. She is very happy, well cared for and well-fed. The atmosphere in Davers Court is lively and friendly so that she genuinely feels at home and is stimulated. The staff in all departments from the front desk to the kitchen to the maintenance and cleaning are excellent and the facilities are ideal. Mum moved here from another home and the difference is astounding. It can be felt even as you approach the front door.
