View Full Details of Estherene HouseMy mothers first day in the care home. Everyone was very kinds to her, she enjoyed the food.
My grandad has been living here for just shy of two years now. Myself and my family cannot fault any of the staff here. They are excellent at communicating, caring for my grandad and ensuring he is always kept busy. They even went to the lengths of allowing him to sing one of his favourite songs when a guest singer came in to entertain the residents. I could honestly not think of a better place for him to be.
Superb. Estherene House has cared for our father for the past 18 months. The staff have been unfailingly kind, patient and attentive throughout. It is with great regret that we are moving dad to another care facility in a different part of the country. We are only doing so because its location makes it more convenient for family and friends. We can only hope that his new residence will be able to live up to the standards of Estherene House. We cannot recommend Estherene House too highly.
I've been impressed with how the staff have met Aunt and Uncle's needs and greeted me with a friendly face. Staff take an interest in their welfare and don't treat them as just numbers. They are always willing to listen to concerns of mine and try and sort it out quickly. The senior staff were very helpful recently when I was concerned about my Auntie. I'm often offered a small dinner and a cuppa whilst visiting and had a lovely dinner once. They have a double room upstairs with a bay window, they don't have an en-suite, and they have to go a little way down the landing. They have a stairlift to go up and down which isn't always convenient. There are plenty of activities going on most days like, being taken out in a wheelchair to the seafront and park etc. games and exercises. The place itself can get confusing with narrow corridors and a bit like a maze! The safety and security are very good with a doorbell and buzzer to press so someone come and let me in and all residents are safe and cannot just walk out of the locked door!
All the staff are friendly and interact with my mother to make sure all her needs are met. Nothing is too much trouble. There are daily activities, which help her mind keep active. Everywhere is clean and Mum's room is cleaned daily.
All the staff do a very good job. A job which I know I could not do, even if I was paid £800 a week!
Myself and brother visit our mum frequently at the home. Access to Mum is very good and the support staff are very approachable and will converse about all matters readily. Nice to see that Mum has made good relationships with a few residents living within the home. Mum is generally quite happy with her own company so she is okay with being left to her own devices.
My stepdad has recently spent 11 weeks at Estherene House before he passed away. All of the staff were incredibly kind and caring both to my stepdad and to our family, and we were always made to feel welcome when visiting. Maintaining my stepdad's dignity was clearly important to the staff along with delivering cheerful and good-humoured care at all times. Our initial thoughts when we visited on the first day was that some areas of the building seemed a little dated but actually, we quickly realised that everywhere was always very clean and more importantly the staff work very hard to provide a homely and welcoming place for both residents and their families. The care given to my stepdad was exemplary and we are so grateful for the love and care given to him in the final weeks of his life.
I have found the staff to be very professional and good at their jobs. They are excellent with my dad. They always keep me informed and up to date regarding my dad.
I find when I visit it seems very pleasant. Staff are polite and caring. My wife seems very happy here, and I can see she is well looked after. Many thanks for this.
Good quality of care and friendly staff.
Not an awful lot to say! The home is excellent in every way and my friend could not be in better hands with the kind and considerate staff members.
My father has had numerous falls which resulted in a fractured neck and did not get fluids to drink some of the time and I feel that the quality of care is not good.
Am impressed by all the team at Estherene House. Friendly, helpful and always have a welcoming smile, which is very important. Staff listen if I am worried by my husband and it's taken care of. They always ask if I'm okay as well, living alone at home. I feel great when I leave. Well done staff of Estherene House. Thank you.
The staff are pleasant and always friendly. They always provide Mum with good care and address any concerns as soon as they are raised. It can be difficult to call the home and speak to mum as she talks very quietly and we cannot hear what she is saying on the telephone. We would like a better phone system in place so we can speak to her.
My wife has settled here easily for the last fourteen months and us happy and comfortable.
Excellent care and cleanliness. Residents are always clean and shaven (men). food is very good and always made welcome and get a hot drink and also quite often a meal!
Carers are kind and friendly and look after Mum well. Lots of activities for the residents to participate in.
The staff care my mum gets is very good. The staff are caring and kind. There can be a problem with mums clothes they often go missing or somebody else is wearing them. I have put my mum's name in all of her clothes, most of them mum has got back but still, some get muddled up from time to time.
My mum describes it as excellent care and wonderful staff. In the difficult circumstances of COVID and isolation, handled very competently.
