View Full Details of Glebe House Residential Care HomeOur close friend of 50 years was transferred to Glebe House in October. We were so impressed by the care that the staff gave to our friend. We live some distance away so when we said we worried about him, the response was 'Don't worry has has got us now to care for him'. Kindness with professionalism, wonderful. Thank you all so much.
My mum is currently at Glebe House and has been for over a year. I cannot fault the home. The staff are professional, caring and supportive and go over and above in all aspects of their job. The activities are second to none, so much thought and work go into them. Mum was the only vegetarian when she first went there, and they went out of their way to accommodate this. When I initially viewed Glebe, I knew instantly it was the one. The feel of the place was home-from-home. Many of the staff have been there for years, which indicated a good working environment for them too. The number of residents is small enough to make it very personal. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
My mother has stayed at Glebe House for three months over the summer. She has had difficult circumstances to cope with and everyone has been caring and supportive to her. The staff are professional, respectful and kind. Activities are thoughtfully tailored with one-to-one, group activities and also events. There is a good atmosphere and everyone seems to enjoy a bit of fun. The management staff are endlessly patient and are good listeners supporting residents and also relatives. It is very noticeable how each resident is treated very much as an individual and according to their needs. Glebe House is friendly, homely and filled with kindness.
The care mum has received in these difficult times has been outstanding and the staff have made sure we have been kept updated with any changes, nothing seems to much trouble. It has been a very challenging time for everyone and Glebe House staff have certainly made a hard decision and time easier for us. Thank you.
We visited prior to Covid and always found the staff to be both caring and professional. Everyone we met from domestic to managerial are so kind. The home is a real home. This has given such peace of mind in this pandemic. Staff have been so very helpful with updates since restrictions.
My mother was a resident at Glebe House for a few years and was looked after very well. I liked all the staff, the carers were always cheerful, helpful and compassionate and to appeared genuinely be fond of the residents. My only disappointment was that I felt there was not enough stimulation or activities to keep the residents from getting so bored.
My father was only here for a short time prior to his death but I was very impressed with the caring attitude of all the management and staff whilst he was a resident here. It was particularly comforting to also note the very caring and understanding attitude extended to my mother by all the staff when she visited on a daily basis. The family was very pleased that we were able to find a room at this quiet and tranquil home for my father's last days.
The care given to my parents by all staff since their arrival at Glebe House in October 2018 has always been very kind and caring. This was even more evident when my mother was on end of life care and their kindness and support extended to my sister and myself whilst we sat with our mother during her last week. Communication is good between the home and myself, including me in decision making regarding my parent's welfare and needs. Staff are always ready to listen if I need to discuss issues and I never feel I am being rushed during meetings plus somebody is always available. The standard of meals is very high and special requirements are always met. My parent's hygiene needs are dealt with sympathetically and they are never made to feel a nuisance or embarrassed at a situation. Their personal attire is always beautifully washed and ironed so they present neat and tidy which I feel is very important to their self-respect and dignity.
Both our parents have been residents at Glebe House since last October. The care they have received has been wonderful. They were provided with a beautiful double bedroom and also a separate room to use as their own sitting room. All the staff are always cheerful, kind and patient with residents. My mother recently passed away and spent the last week of her life in the care home. Both she and the rest of the family were treated with care, respect and kindness during her final few days. Staff are now showing our father extra kindness during the difficult time after losing our mother.
Having a parent with dementia is very difficult for any family but Glebe House has made this the best possible experience. Their home is welcoming and friendly and truly a home for my mother. They give her all the love and care that she needs in a safe environment. The staff are lovely, the food is delicious and they have regular activities and entertainment. Best of all my father who visits every other day always feels welcome.
My twin brother is in Glebe House 'Respite Care' but may stay on for a bit. Glebe House is wonderful and amazing and VERY friendly staff. The house is beautifully clean, airy, light and warm! Also very caring and what seems a safe haven. Lovely garden and the bedrooms look very comfortable.
Beautiful setting and home - small but elegant, with good food and friendly, helpful management and staff.
Glebe House is a homely comfortable place with congenial staff. The staff greet you on arrival with offers of refreshments. The lady I visit is treated exceptionally well and has resided there for many years. Nothing is too much trouble whether it be food choices or assistance required. There is a happy atmosphere and I often hear laughter from staff and residents alike know my visits. The owners have ensured they are involved in all aspects of the daily running of the home and have taken time to get to know the residents. Staff are well trained and experienced with good leadership. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Glebe House to anyone requiring residential care.
I would like to compliment the staff that were on duty when I visited my Grandmother 2 weeks ago. They were very welcoming and offered me refreshments and some cake, which was lovely by the way. They seemed very happy to be working at the home and I could see that all the residents seemed to be happy. They were very caring towards the residents and my grandmother. I had noticed a lot of improvements the home had been made which was good to see. Simple things like lunch menus with pictures which my grandmother preferred as she gets confused sometimes.
A fantastic home, with superb staff and lots of activities to keep residents occupied. Definitely recommended for anyone thinking of sending their loved one to a place that's treats people with dignity.
On entering the home, I was greeted by a member of the care staff with a great big smile. After being asked politely to sign in, she guided me to where my friend was sitting and offered me refreshments. When sitting with my friend for over an hour, I observed that all the care staff were very good and attended to anyone who required anything. All the staff were very attentive to the residents. I was also greeted by the owners who said they had recently taken over the home and explained all the improvements they had planned and some which they had already started. They assured me that the improvements being made would benefit the residents and they clearly have a vision to take the home to the next level. It is great to see and meet the owners who are actively involved in the home and I could clearly see the standards they are setting is very high. I would highly recommend any of my family members to be living here as is feels like a home and not an institution.
