View Full Details of HazeldellMy mother has been at Hazeldell since November 2024. I have not been able to fault anything so far. The home offers person centred care, and maintain independence where ever possible. I have not had any cause for concern since Mum has been a resident. The care staff and managers alike are always available and take an interest in both the residents and relatives. I am always kept up to date with any changes in Mums care needs. There is a vast array of activities on offer but never forced on the resident's. The home is well decorated and the rooms are nice and comfortable. The meal choices are displayed on a daily basis with a variety of dishes on offer. Tea and coffees are always available.
I cannot rate Hazeldell enough, I managed to place both my in laws with the amazing team, social services wanted them split up as their care needs were very different, my father in law needing nursing home care. I am a registered Nurse and own my own Domiciliary Care company so I knew exactly what I was looking for, I would recommend Hazeldell 100% to place a loved one there. We were always kept updated, my husband lost both his parents between September and December, the end of life care was impeccable thank you to your amazing team.
My Stepdad was in this care home for 2 years, he went straight there from hospital so we couldn't choose where he went. Some of the staff were lovely and caring however a few were quite abrupt to him, especially a member of staff who often gave him his medication as she spoke very sharply to him. On the night my stepdad died we were told as we left the manager would call me tomorrow with her condolences - but none of the staff made any contact with us to show their condolences at all. When we later looked through all of the boxes they had boxed up his belongings in for us, we were so upset to find that his very expensive antique clock was missing, we have emailed the manager regarding this, but she said nobody knows where this it. This has been a very upsetting experience for the family as the clock has been in our family for many years and is sentimental to us.
I feel confident that my mother-in-law is very well cared for. The staff are attentive to her needs and we are kept informed of any relevant health matters. I am also most impressed with the variety of activities available to support resident’s engagement and interaction.
My mum came to Hazeldell in June, I was a little bit apprehensive at first but have every admiration for the staff who are always welcoming and am comfortable in the way Mum is looked after, the events organisers are amazing and lots of pictures of Mum involved in the activities, well done all staff feel so happy Mum is with you.
My mother has been at Hazeldell for nearly 4 years now, she has been very well looked after by everyone. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The activities are excellent. The management are very professional and that shows throughout the whole team. When Mum returns to her room she refers to it as home.
This home is amazing, the staff are amazing, they all go above and beyond to make sure every resident is happy, I'm so glad I chose this home for my nan, a big well done to you all, thank you for everything you guys do.
Hazeldell has been very supportive, not only to my grandad but also to the family. Management is always available to discuss any concerns that we may have and so are other staff members. They are all very approachable, understanding and friendly. After 2 years of caring for Grandad ourselves, it was a very hard decision to make. To ask for help and assistance. But this was made so much easier with Hazeldell as they helped us go through the steps and kept us updated regularly. Hazeldell staff are all very professional and work to a very high standard of care, maintaining the dignity of service users at all times.
My relative had a short stay in hospital and the staff were excellent in liaising with me before she was admitted, during her stay, and when arranging for her return to the home. My relative feels safe in the home and is made to feel part of the Hazeldell family by all the staff whatever their role. It is always difficult to see a loved one go into care but to see her settled and cared for 24/7 certainly helps and being able to visit whenever I want with no prior arrangement assures me that this is the case.
My mother is a resident, at Hazeldell. One of the first things you notice walking in the secure front door is the pleasant homely smell. As the cleanliness of the home continues throughout the home The high level of activities every day, which my mother enjoys.
My mother-in-law is a resident of Hazeldell, who enjoys her activities, the staff, and her friends who she has made since being there. She is happy to try new things, as she believes her exercise keeps her going. The staff are helpful, kind, and always there to assist if needed. Absolutely wonderful home.
It was my Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary and the team at Hazeldell went the extra mile to make it special for them. They set up a table in the conservatory with a lovely silver tablecloth on and balloons in a fancy vase, as if they were eating at a restaurant. This was very much appreciated and I know that Mum enjoyed being able to have a meal with Dad (and I did too). It was delicious and huge! Thank you to the team also for all the activities you provide for the residents. I know my Dad loved the rickshaw ride in particular, and the photos of the residents enjoying their day are great to see.
Hazeldell is very well run and the professionalism of management and associated staff is excellent. The facilities offered are very good and Hazeldell extends a home environment to residents coupled with respect, dignity and appreciation of their needs in a kind and considerate manner.
Exceptional care home. Staff were very caring and professional during my mother's stay at Hazeldell. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff did a wonderful job caring for her right up to her end of life care. I would highly recommend Hazeldell to anyone looking for a place of care for themselves or a loved one.
Came to visit my father in law and loved to see the activities that they had been doing, some were playing bingo others just sitting in the garden. Activities lady always has a positive attitude very friendly and a massive smile.
I arrived at Hazeldell on 14th of February 2022. I had been in hospital for four months after having a serious operation. O was confused, frightened and extremely unhappy. The staff and management have with the assistance of district nurses have completely transformed my health and I am extremely grateful to them all. I wholeheartedly recommend Hazeldell Care Home.
A well led home with caring, professional and competent staff. They coped with difficult situations well and the ability to access daily care notes gives relatives reassurance and the ability to raise issues with staff. The staff showed good flexibility in dealing with individual challenges. Some areas would benefit from redecoration. Telephone and wifi communication is challenging in parts of the building and this technical problem should be resolved. Staff were however willing to use their own phones to maintain essential contact. Visitors are welcomed and helped. The staff are pleasant and open. Food is generally good. Good relationship with local GP practice. Activities for residents are engaging. Overall I was pleased with the way Hazeldell looked after my mum through a particularly challenging period.
My dad was originally sent to Hazeldell for respite care, some 9 months ago and has remained there since. He has received excellent care from all members of staff, which I know must be difficult and very challenging at times. All the staff are very helpful and cooperative whenever we visit and nothing is too much trouble. The variety of food they receive is always very good and couldn't ask for anything more for my dad, as he seems to enjoy it. There's always plenty of activities also going on. The staff from management, carers and catering are always very helpful and informative, so couldn't ask for anymore. Many thanks to everyone.
My mum has lived at Hazeldell since 2016. It is a very warm, friendly and homely environment. My mum thrives from the interaction with the carers which is wonderful. From a hello in the corridor to a cuddle and a chat in the lounge. The food is great. Communication from Hazeldell is perfect and I feel they coped amazingly through the pandemic. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a small, more personal care home.
My mum has dementia and been a resident of Hazeldell for nearly a year now. From the first day she arrived, after having several falls, the care she has received has been wonderful. My mum has a light and pleasant room equipped with a trip and falls alarms. The staff work as a team and are always polite and kind. My mum is in her 90th year and the 24/7 care she receives is of high standard, which I am personally grateful for.
