View Full Details of Manson HouseManson House is an excellent Care Home. My father is very well looked after and he is happy living in the home. There are plenty of staff and they are all very friendly. The building is well looked after and clean. My father has a lovely room and there are several very pleasant reception rooms downstairs for activities and in which residents can relax.
This care home is well led and managed and the influence and values of the manager resonate throughout. All the care staff are immensely patient and attentive to individual care needs and ensure the stay is as comfortable and fulfilling as possible.
I have been extremely happy with the care Grandad has received since being at Manson House. Grandad was unsure that a care home was for him, but he has fully embraced the activities that have been offered. He enjoys going to the garden room and socialising with other residents. I have been very pleased with the care Grandad has received. The staff are very kind, caring and approachable.
I have found the care for my father not only professionally administered but provided in a genuinely warm and caring manner. Like anyone, I was anxious about him making the transition to the care environment but they have really made him feel at home.
My mother, very reluctantly I have to say, went to Manson House for two weeks of respite care on October 3rd 2023. After only a week she told us she didn't want to leave and has been a resident ever since. As a family, we are so grateful to the exceptional staff for taking such good care of her and most importantly making her feel safe. I don't think Mum could be any happier than she is at Manson.
My mum moved into Manson House in November and we've been really impressed with the level of care she's received since then. Despite initially being in a room that wasn't 100% suitable the team did everything they could to make sure Mum was still comfortable and as soon as a room that was more appropriate became available we were given the opportunity to transfer. All members of staff have been really supportive of Mum's needs and a special mention must go to the food on offer, I've had a few meals at the home with Mum and they're fantastic!
So delighted at how quickly my mother settled in and had made many good friends. Lots of fun activities to join in with and a garden and summer house she uses all seasons. The staff couldn't be more helpful, caring or welcoming. Mum's room is light and welcoming. She has much of her own furniture there. Always kept clean and tidy by super staff who are second to none in my opinion and I've worked in a fair few nursing homes in the past and Manson House outshines them all.
My mother had a bad fall and after a long time in hospital was unable to look after herself. Not living in the UK I was desperate to find somewhere for her and literally knocked on their door. From the moment I walked through the door, I was treated so well and the management staff went out of their way to help me get something sorted out. They had an available cosy room and I decided to take it. Normally I would have done months of research but this was clearly meant to be because what I hoped would just be a respite turned into my mother now living there long term. The staff is caring and attentive and the communication with me is excellent. At any given time I can find out if my mother is eating well or taking part in the activities etc. All her movements are documented. I was just visiting her and every room was set up to feel very Christmasy. The food choices are varied and appetizing. I couldn't be more happy with finding Manson House.
Very pleased with the care and attention taken by all staff to our mother. Those visiting have commented to us on how well she looks and responds. Very happy with all the facilities. The catering is very good and happy with the food options and the snack trolley.
My mother has been living in Manson House for almost two years. She has a lovely, light and airy room overlooking the beautifully-kept garden. The outstanding aspect of Manson House for me is, without a doubt, the staff. I have never encountered any member of staff without a cheery smile on their face. Their constant 'can-do' attitude is extremely welcome and nothing is too much trouble. This caring and helpful attitude extends to all the staff - from the management & administration team, through to the carers, and also the support staff (the kitchen crew, the cleaning team and the maintenance people). The small activities team also work extremely hard to offer a varied, interesting programme of games, quizzes, films, crafts and other activities. My mother enjoys joining in with these activities as much as she is able. I am so pleased to have found Manson House for my mother. She is happy and safe - I couldn't ask for more for her!
Manson House is perfect for my mother. She feels totally at home and is close to all her carers. They look after her so well. The family don't live close by but we have full confidence in the entire team. The house and garden are beautifully appointed.
Manson House has such a positive feel about it. It is a lovely location and the staff are so engaged and caring with the residents. There always seems to be something going on, to interest and stimulate the residents. I know that my father wished he had moved in sooner, as he has enjoyed his new life so much there.
So pleased to have found Manson House for my mother. The house itself is wonderful and has been thoughtfully fitted out and furnished to feel welcoming, comfortable and relaxing. The kindness and attention the care team show to the residents is heartwarming and the management team are always accessible and responsive to any requests you may have. The activities are really interesting, relevant and stimulating. Every aspect has been thought through to create a place where both residents and visitors can feel at home while at the same time feeling confident that the necessary safeguards are in place. All of these things make Manson House a place anybody would be happy to spend time and I feel very lucky that it is here in Bury St Edmunds.
My mother has been at Manson House since June 2022. She always said that she did not want the family to put her in a home, however, after several short stays in hospital in early 2022, it became clear that Mum was not coping at home. I researched several care homes in Bury St Edmunds and would say that Manson House is, by far, the best one. Since being in the home Mum has improved greatly and although she prefers to stay in her room, she is now content. She is well looked after by the staff who are always very helpful. When I visit, the staff are always welcoming and I feel Mum is well looked after with nothing being too much trouble.
The carers are very friendly and helpful. The food is good. Management deal with any problems very quickly. Housekeeping, excellent service with cleaning the room to doing the laundry and are very prompt in getting it back. The nighttime care is excellent and I feel very safe.
My Mother had been very proud of being able to be in her own home in her nineties but was beginning to find independent living a struggle. She moved somewhat reluctantly to Manson House in September. It was a huge change for her and took a few months to adjust but is now settled. This transition would not have been possible without the care, empathy and support of all the staff at Manson House. She is lucky enough to have a room with a small private sitting room overlooking the gardens and has been able to bring her own furniture and pictures, as much a home from home as possible. When we visited Manson House for the first time, it really stood out from other residential care homes that we had seen, making a difficult and emotional decision easier. As a visitor, you are always made to feel welcome which provides a sense of security that my Mother is in safe hands.
We recently arranged for my father to move into Manson House after a short spell in hospital and at a time where he could no longer live independently. Having researched the care options available to us in, and around Bury St Edmunds, Manson House was the stand out choice. The standard of accommodation is excellent and very comfortable whilst the staff are caring, kind and professional. They are truly an amazing team and nothing is too much trouble. Everyone has been so kind and made my father feel so at home which, as a family, is more than we could have hoped for so we thank them everyday.
Our experience of Manson House over the last 4 months (since Mum moved there) has been great. The staff are very kind and thoughtful and always on hand. I can ask any of them how mum has been and they are all able to keep me updated. Mum is very content and is involved in activities every day. We are both very grateful for the lovely care and kind support received.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care my mother has received at Manson House. The management and staff are extremely loving and have a genuine interest in maintaining the very best interests of the residents. My mother is making some new friends and is living rather than existing the rest of her days at Manson House. Her every need is seen to, but at the same time her privacy is respected. When I used to phone my mother before moving to Manson House, she often sounded bored and lonely, where as now, it is so lovely to hear about her day which ranges from afternoon art sessions to discussions about poetry and news items.
Spending the last ten months at Manson House has given the resident a new lease of life. There is social interaction for those that want to interact with fellow residents and the activity team alike. A stunning garden allows residents to sit in peace or wander around when the weather allows. Joined in all the activities they have planned, from painting to historical discussions, quizzes to keep the old grey matter active, and many more, which has enriched his life to the full. All the staff are professional, compassionate, caring, approachable and efficient. They give kind reassurance to each individual in their care. Their aim is for the residents not to be embarrassed if help is required at any time day and night, and not just in an emergency. There is always a daily menu choice, which is freshly cooked, nutritious and presented well, thus ensuring a good level of health and well-being. The cakes which are made on a daily basis can be highly recommended.
