View Full Details of The White HouseMy review of The White House is one of excellence in all aspects since my partner was a resident as of 28/11/24 until the present time. I find the care home excellent in all departments for her necessary care and well being.
My husband has only been a resident for about 3 weeks. In that time he has been very well cared for by the staff. Food, although he has a pureed diet, I have had 2 Sunday lunches with him, good well cooked meals. Staff are always kind and friendly with me.
My dear wife passed away in October 2024 after spending two and a half years as a resident in The White House, because she was diagnosed with dementia in 2013. She lost her mobility in 2022 and could no longer remain at home. The White House Care Home was chosen by me after several bad experiences using respite facilities in other care homes. The treatment and well-being she received The White House was exemplary. Her limited recognition and quality of life remained with her right up to the end. I cannot give enough praise and gratitude to the manager and staff at The White House for providing such kindness, support, and care. My heartfelt thanks.
My father has been a resident for 2 months. The staff have been caring and have adapted to address his needs. We live a distance away so communication has been important as it is not a quick journey to pop in. The staff have kept us updated and helped to arrange telephone and video calls. My father feels well cared for and says the care provided is personal to each resident. The food is good and the staff are helpful.
My dad has been a resident of the home for over four years. I have always found my dad to be clean and well-looked after. The staff are attentive to his needs and always try to involve him in activities, even with the difficulties his dementia can present. Overall I am happy with his care.
This is the second time my mother has used The White House. She really likes it. She feels it is very pleasant and staff are helpful and very friendly. She always enjoys going. She's always well looked after and enjoys her stays there.
My husband has been thoroughly looked after and I shall keep him in this very caring environment. Every visit is a pleasure and I am made to feel very welcome. The White House has very good standards and the level of care is amazing. Activities are excellent, cleanliness and food and drink are always on offer. I rate The White House 100%.
The White House provides excellent care for my mum. The staff are friendly, caring and professional. My mum has been a resident for more than two years and has been well looked after. They have a good choice of meals. The activities coordinator provides a variety of activities.
My mother is receiving excellent care from all the staff at The White House. The manager and her team are all so friendly and welcoming to our family when we visit. Mum is very happy here and settled in very quickly. There are many organised activities arranged by their activities co-ordinator, who always has a smile and kind word for everyone. Mum says the food is very tasty and always there's a choice. All the staff are always so kind.
The White House provides excellent care for my elderly mother. The staff are, without exception, friendly, caring and professional. My mother has transitioned from living in our family home to life in The White House easily and much of this is due to the kindness and care she has received. She is complimentary about the food and her room is always clean and organised. She only has good things to say about living at The White House.
My grandma is in the later stages of Alzheimer's disease, she is being very well cared for here and her needs are being met. Being a healthcare professional myself, I can recognise when staff are happy in their workplace and are proud of the care they are providing. The communication between staff and families has been excellent.
My mum has been a resident at The White House since January. She struggled to settle for a while, but with all the staff's support and excellent care, my mum is now quite settled. Mum's physical well-being has improved, and she is eating much better. The food/meals are excellent. Mum enjoys the lovely organised activities, and although naturally reserved, she is encouraged to join in with no pressure. Mum has a sense of humour, and many of her conversations with staff involve laughter. Mum has Alzheimer’s and believes she does a lot for herself but actually needs the help. Staff understand this and have a lovely way of encouraging Mum without making her feel inadequate. Staff have a very good understanding of Mum's needs, and my brother and I are very pleased with her excellent care. We feel she is safe and very well looked after Staff are always ready to listen to us and discuss our mum's care. A lovely, friendly, happy home.
The White House provides an outstanding standard of care in all areas. My mother had to be admitted at very short notice, she was made to feel comfortable from the very moment she arrived. The whole staff team has responded really well to her changing needs and communication with me has been very good. Knowing that our mother is being so well looked after is very important to me: she enjoys the social side of care home life, she speaks highly of the carers and the domestic staff, and she praises the quality of the food. Since arriving she has taken part in various activities including music afternoons and the Halloween Party.
The staff are extremely caring and kind. My mum recently had a spell in hospital and the care she had on her return was fantastic. I can not praise the staff enough. I would recommend The White House to anyone. The food is good and the kitchen ensures people get things they enjoy.
My mum's care at The White House has given us great peace of mind. The staff are gentle and caring towards her and I can see by her big smiles when she sees them that she likes and trusts them. The chef is brilliant, producing tasty food to try to tempt her appetite. The home is kept spotlessly clean. Every member of staff, when passing Mum's room, will either call out to her or stop to have just a little chat. With Mum having advanced dementia and having lost all physical ability, and being bedbound, these little moments make all the difference to the day.
My mother has received excellent care while staying at The White House. She loves joining in with the activities, especially singing and dancing. This has improved her mental health. She was very frail and wasn't eating properly as she is very fussy with food but now she is putting on weight and enjoys eating thanks to the chefs and staff. All staff at the care home are kind and friendly.
My father has been a resident for more than three years. During this time he has been very well looked after. The staff are kind, caring, considerate and friendly.
My aunt arrived at The White House with very little interest in activities, socialising or even sitting in a chair as she had been bedridden for several months. This month, she has been totally engaged with visiting entertainers, joining in, clapping and being very happy. She enjoys her food, her room is beautifully kept and the staff are very kind and helpful.
I cannot express how kind this place was as my mum was coming to end-of-life care. All of the staff were so kind and understanding and very, very kind. I have managed for so long on my own, The White House made me feel so welcomed, I could not have wanted any more kindness and support. I would highly recommend. All my love, I will never forget your support.
The management and staff at The White House are all very professional. It would be nice at times to have a few more staff as sometimes it is clear the staff are stretched. The management team are always striving to improve the running of the home. However, saying this, the home is extremely well run and residents are treated with respect and dignity. Finally, the catering is fantastic and my father enjoys the food very much.
